"I will obey your orders."
You'll be happy to know the opening scene of Ch 12 is planned to be a plot-relevant KSK scene. :)
Assuming I find time to write. I spent 4 hours of last night in a bunker because Stuff Happened. Iran targets US troops with missile strikes
On the plus side, no impacts here. But the day has been rather busy. I hope tomorrow less so, since I'm running on 4 hours of sleep and lots of high-caffeine tea.

On the not so plus side, I need to figure out how the complicated bits of Ch 12 are going to work, since while I know exactly where I want to end up and have a few scenes on the way in mind, I need to arrange how it all flows. So I really hope I'll get some time to plan this week, instead of... um, all this stuff. See why I write WAFF to relax?
Glad to hear from you; I was worried about you.

Glad the Iranians were long on 'miss' and short on 'ile.'

You know what I'm wondering, A&T split off from the main timeline with the kiss, Chronicles split off from A&T with I presume a different result of the immediate attempted assassination right after the theater (since that was where I think the split was decided by BG_Character_592 when Rei and Kaworu looked at the timeline tree right after finishing A Second Try if I remember correctly) but what I'm now wondering, where did the Inheritence fic and it's mini-series of fics afterwards by Matt R split off from the main A&T timeline?

I was under the impression that Chronicles split off from main A&T slightly before that, when Spencer Makinami sourced intel that allowed NERV to prevent the theatre attack entirely, at least, I think that's what was implied in that conversation between Spencer and Kaji.

Here's hoping Eureka 7 survives the first round this time.

I hope it doesn't. Half the series was a holding pattern that was mostly the crew of the Gecko screwing with Renton's head. The last bit is good, starting when Renton does that mid-air rescue of Eureka and they truly pilot as a duo for the first time, but getting there is like a march through a swamp.

Strange, I remember there being mentions of the Theater attack still happening in one of the many conversations in the group going through something NGE related after the Theater attack plot event. I admit I could be mistaken though.

Also I'm far more hoping to see Fate Zero + Fate Stay Night: UBW in the poll again, I feel like the group would enjoy it (and perhaps Second Magic shenanigans somehow cause Rin and Shirou to end up temporarily in the Chronicles-verse :p).

The whole Rei remembering everything in the theatre still happened. What was different was when they left the theatre and they found Section 2 swarming the area and a relieved to high heaven Misato because Spencer Makinami managed to get that key bit of intel to them before it was too late.

So yeah, subtle split at first. But you know what they say about butterflies and nails.

Ah, ok. That explains it. I admit I missed the part with that conversation somewhere probably. Thank you for the explanation though.

Geez, when/if the chronicles crew finally goes through A&T they are going to get flashbacks to their original NGE experience with things suddenly changing from what they remember aren't they?

Oh, that's going to be absolutely awful for them. They think they've finally tracked down the divergent work for their universe, only for the theater bit to roll around...

"It's happening again!"

EDIT: Part of me now wants the final scene of Chronicles overall, whenever that is, to be them getting the Chronicles work itself dropped on their doorstep, bringing the whole thing full circle.

Jokes aside...

I get it, the slow opening is kinda hard to get through, but it pays off so well. Though i might be a bit bias since it was the second anime ive watched, behind FMA.

Which reminds me... has anyone suggested FMA or FMA brotherhood for chronicles? Cause the latter would definitely be interesting to watch.

For want of a nail, the shoe was lost.
For want of a shoe, the horse was lost.
For want of a horse, the rider was lost.
For want of a rider, the message was lost.
For want of the message, the battle was lost.
For want of the battle, the kingdom was lost.

And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.

I think he's talking about two sayings: the butterfly's wings one, and the expression "In spite of a nail".

I am disappointed that it turned out to be two different sayings.

The Butterfly Effect is a later invention, but it seems to me that in concept the Butterfly Effect is neutral, while "For Want of a Nail" is a warning about triggering a disaster due to your own sloppiness. Or at least, making you aware of the potential consequences.

I can totally see Zelretch fist-bumping God!Pen-Pen, and throwing Rin and Shirou across for giggles.

Okay, if @BG_Character_592 ever brings the Fate cast to the Chronicles Universe, he should be careful with a lot of hated fanon, including the infamous "Zelretch is a troll" meme, because this is one of the biggest triggers in Nasuverse fans, some not even rabid.

I know it's a meme and memes are easy to remember (in fact, I believe that's one of the reasons they are called 'memes'), but Zelretch in canon is most emphatically NOT a troll, he is actually a very serious character who was said by the author himself, Kinoko Nasu, to be similar to Jotaro Kujoh of JoJo's fame.

If anything, Zelretch is more likely to send the Fate cast to the Chronicles universe on a mission, and not any mission, most likely it would be a mission in which if they weren't there, the entire timeline would be destroyed/erased/burnt/pruned, because that's the kind of person he is.

Of course, he may not tell them why they are there, allowing for numerous comedic moments, but even then it would be more on the basis of "if they know, everything is doomed", so if they are sent there, it better be for an actually very good reason and not just for jokes.

Said that, I would love to see them in the Chronicles Universe, I believe they could have hilarious interactions with the cast in basically everything, the OT4, considering Shirou is an infamous Harem Protagonist who actually has amazing snark (though he's usually too polite to snark out loud), the existence of a World Progenitor/Goddess living as an eccentric human, the giant cyborgs cloned from Kaijus, and even simply the mere existence of Metaphysical Biology; like Holy Sh*t, that would be HUGE, as in "can potentially change everything" in the Nasuverse, even more in the Fate franchise.

The existence of Thaumaturgy and everything connected to it would throw everyone on the Eva side of things for a loop, as well. Especially making them wonder if some form of the Clock Tower exists or existed in their world, and if it had any connections to SEELE at any point.

That is actually a good point, I didn't consider eventual connections between the Magi and SEELE. SEELE would totally try to use Thaumaturgy in something, heck, if Gendo could he would probably use it to create Rei, though I also like the idea that he wouldn't need to because science simply advanced enough for that.

"Stop the universe from getting pruned now, debate the potential applications of AT-field based Thaumaturgy later."

For those of you who might ever get the two confused, remember: Zelretch is the serious one. Merlin is the troll. ;)
the existence of a World Progenitor/Goddess living as an eccentric human,
Wow, I just realized that technically, Kaworu has an even better "magic core" than Saber. Might be interesting once the Fate crew finds out...
