I can only do so much to compensate for whatever issues my readers bring to the text. I articulated the difference. Beyond that, death of the author is firmly in play.

Of course, since I control the way the world responds to the players' independent interpretations of my work, there's a limit to that in actual practice, but I only control that end of things.

Uh, I feel like y'all are missing the mountain for the anthill here. The thing to be concerend about isn't "will they or won't they", it's that, frankly, other than pure Power Level, Kakara is not sufficiently well-trained to deal with a fight against someone of his level.

e: Her losing would either force her to pursue him, from a romantic perspective (recognizing the superiority of her opponent) or show that she's weak in front of her people.

Its a fight at full power.

So 15 million vs 1.125 Billion

He could throw a punch, and the speed difference is such that Kakara could likely eat a three course meal before having to worry about dodging it.

(unless my suspicions are true.)

I actually apologize. Rereading the actual uodate, it's clear this behavior isn't condoned in any way.

It was some of the post chapter conversation that set my teeth rattling and unfairly retroactively flavored the update for me.
 
I was shipping the moment I heard a 14 year old heir of house "LOYALTY IS ALL" reached the finals. Yet when he kept glancing at the box, my thoughts were "Nah, it can't be. He probably admires Berra for some reason". That said, I say we should accept. Not only it is not a binding agreement but it takes guts to do what he did, we can tell he is not cocky by how he said it and kept glancing at us and, even if it is not binding, that kind of story ends the tournament on a high note that helps with morale. I have been meaning to make inroads with house Stauber for a while too and this helps with that. It also makes us more relatable to the people.

How massive are Bulma's skills that she can regularly beat people with 5x times her power level? Many of the people she fought would have been fairly skilled themselves.

Kakara plain doesn't want to do this. She doesn't like fighting and she wouldn't like fighting with him. Any other considerations fall secondary to this.

Don't really see an issue with this. It's obvious that the kid is a little in over his head and he's even apologetic about the way he did it. It would be something else if he was being an arrogant little shite. We can't actually lose this fight, right?

I mean by mechanics. Master style and elite dueling would not be enough. She has to be fitting in some other bonuses, but I have no idea what.

All of her fights before she won instantly.

Shes an old Saiyan.

As in a Saiyan that kept fighting long enough that she actually LOOKS her age.

Considering that its canon that Saiyans keep appearing middle age/in fighting shape until they turn 90ish.

Shes likely got a whole bunch of 'Old and nasty beats youth and vigor' traits.

She would need at least +400 worth of bonuses from them. Another +100 to win consistently.

I do take issue with your phasing, which calls to mind a whole bunch of sleazy things that are far worse than what's here.

And the different forms of "encounters" definitely have different connotations to them that can be objectively considered better here

Unless you're saying him asking for the fight is of the same level as asking for an arranged marriage. Or, God forbid, an encounter better suited for QQ.
