So what would Mami's intrusive thoughts, courtesy of us, look like?

You're amazing. Nobody else could help Sabrina like this. With your help, there's so many more things to discover together... She loves you, and trusts you, and you still keep surprising her in the best ways. She's never going to want to leave you, not in a million years.

Oh, you know, we should test Grief fog against timestop.

Just, you know, to see Homura's face.

Get her opinion on whether she's comfortable if we can no-sell timestop.

Also, added Grief Fog to current vote.

If Mami really is getting a soul meld of how much we value her, this becomes a daily ritual.

onmarble-Today at 11:36 AM
I could see Sabrina wearing one of Mami's ribbons and whenever Mami's feeling lonely at school Sabrina pokes her with her soul

Blast Flame-Today at 11:38 AM
Hmm, wearing one of her ribbons in our hair like Homura had Madoka's ribbon in her hair maybe?
(Between the end of the series and the end of Rebellion I mean)

onmarble-Today at 11:38 AM
I'm not sure yellow would go well on Sabrina's head
but that's for Mami to decide :p

Blast Flame-Today at 11:38 AM
Bracelet then?

AuraTwilight-Today at 11:38 AM
I like the idea of wearing it on the neck

Blast Flame-Today at 11:39 AM
Ooo like a scarf?

onmarble-Today at 11:39 AM
like a collar :V
whipped

AuraTwilight-Today at 11:39 AM
More like a cute ribbon choker
Bow in the back

Counterpoint: Mami is enough the Agatha to our Gilgamesh as it is. Do we really need to put a foreign, sparky presence in her head?

Blast Flame-Today at 11:40 AM
YES
When you put it like that ABSOLUTELY

Phoenixian-Today at 11:42 AM
500 updates from now we're going to wind up in Mechancisburg aren't we?

Blast Flame-Today at 11:43 AM
You seem to think that Mitakihara isn't already a city designed by a spark
With it's 600 floor hospitals

Phoenixian-Today at 11:43 AM
Just because we didn't start it, doesn't mean we can't exacerbate.

Blast Flame-Today at 11:43 AM
And so on
Exacerbate? You keep making it sound like a bad thing.
Embrace the chaos

In any case, with the Girl Genius reference out there, the choice of neckwear is clear: Locket on a ribbon.

So what would Mami's intrusive thoughts, courtesy of us, look like?
One would expect that it would be less her thinking about herself as we think about her, and more her thinking about us like we think about her. Or, if our focus is elsewhere, possibly her thinking about us like we think about Sayaka/Kyouko/Madoka/Homura/Akiko/Kyuubey etc.

The alternative is just her seeing the world through our worldview. Regardless, the way Mami sees herself while under that influence would probably be the way Sabrina sees herself.

One would expect that it would be less her thinking about herself as we think about her, and more her thinking about us like we think about her.
I did not expect that but can see the logic. I don't think it gets that specific, though. Judging by when we hacked the familiar and witch, it seems to me more likely to give her our general emotional state and let her brain do with that what it will.

I'm fairly certain there's no actual strain on her, nor pain. If there was, she wouldn't be blushing about it.

It's just that the interaction is extremely intimate (not necessarily in a romantic sense). We are literally infusing a construct linked to her soul with an enchantment made from ours.

It's arguably more personal than any physical interaction could be. That's going to take a long time to acclimate to.

Personally, I think we should offer her the chance to do the same...probably with one of our hammers. Should give us a clearer idea of the nature of the experience, and makes it less one-sided.
This. Although, I wonder if it's possible for us to do the grief-ribbon experiment, but inverted. In other words, Mami injects her ribbons into our Grief, somehow. I don't really know how that would work, but it's worth trying.

Some possibilities:
1) Forming Grief into a "medium", kind of like ribbons are. So, say, a rigid structure, like a lattice, which Mami infuses with her ribbons.

2) Forming Grief constructs, such as barrier generators, and having Mami infuse her ribbons into them, connecting them.

3) Forming a Grief construct which has control surfaces, and having Mami infuse her ribbons into the control surfaces, allowing for her to manipulate the controls herself.

I'd recommend Oriko and Kirika give the phenomenon a try themselves, at some point. It'd be more difficult to figure out, since they don't really control mediums (precognition and antimagic, and the antimagic is obviously going to be extremely tricky to blend with other magic, for obvious reasons). Still, Oriko has her metal orbs, and Kirika has her claws, and generic expenditures of magic are a thing. Perhaps Kirika trying to inject some of her magic into one of Oriko's orbs?

EDIT: The thing to note is that we ultimately do use magic to control Grief. Our magic senses show our magic interwoven with and connected to the Grief under our control. I wonder if this is also the case with Witches?

@Firnagzen : I'm curious as to why Oriko's arm still hasn't been healed yet. Between herself and Kirika healing it, and the Clear Seed to negate the magic costs, surely they'd have done it by now? I mean, they certainly have the time. It took less than half a day in timestop to fix Oriko's massive gunshot wound trauma, a nearly severed head, and being dead. We showed them how to heal, and made some progress on healing her arm ourselves (along with Kirika), so...?

So, what, maximum Emiya Syndrome "must save all gucas"?
Torgamous makes a good point, but as long as we're here it's worth pointing out that that's still a relationship with the world at large.

If SV's thoughts on Sabrina is any indication to Sabrina's relationship with herself?

We think we're hot shit and capable of literally anything... 'cept social. (Particularly in the field of our power... and note that we were doing power experimentation both times there.)

I think it's because homura won't let her...

[X] Concern for Mami. Make sure it doesn't hurt, and that she knows that if she wants to stop, we'll stop right there.
-[X] If the experiment continues, try spreading your grief off the ribbon.
-[X] Either way, end the experiment before we impose on Mami too much.
-[X] Maybe she could try pushing her magic into you, to know what it feels like?
-[X] Share your hopes of spreading your Grief cleansing. Maybe replicating her Ribbon's magic-conduction through enchantment?

[X] Witch hunt!
-[X] Vote in abeyance + Grief Fog.

[X] After the hunt
-[X] Ask if you could join the homework session?
-[X] Maybe we could do something romantic for Mami to make up for making her uncomfortable?

I think that it's likely similar to what happens when we try to grab familiars, but even so... Even if we're full of positive fluffy emotions, it might not be comfortable for Mami. In fact it almost definitely isn't comfortable, and it might not be good for her, mentally. So I think we should contain our excitement for now and make sure she's okay. And we definitely should make sure we know what it feels like ourselves, since Mami is still a bit malleable.

Discomfort is fine in moderation, but we really should make sure we're not hurting her.

Putting Oriko's head back in place, and superficially healing her injuries took Sabrina and Homura around six hours. Keep in mind we basically just put the head back in place, replacing very little tissue.

Healing Oriko's arm requires a hell of a lot of time because all the flesh, bone, arteries, etc. need to be created magically.

Checking on Mami should go before the rest. We shouldn't just plow on ahead without concern for how she might be feeling.
That would extend the time Mami's getting experimented on. Checking if we can contorl Grief away from the ribbon takes literally a couple of seconds.

If we ask Mami how she's doing (again) first, then she'll be dealing with our magic a lot longer.

Homura's never expressed anything of the sort, and we already gave approval for her to do so when we started to heal the injury ourselves, taught Oriko and Kirika to heal, and had Kirika help us heal her.

I would hardly say it was replacing very little tissue. Rifle-caliber bullet rounds do a hell of a lot of damage, and let's not forget that she lost most of her blood.

Regardless, with two of them healing, I would imagine they'd finish the task within a few days, so long as they dedicated most of each day to healing.

And besides, the story has given the implication that they haven't made any progress at all. I mean, it still refers to the "stump of her arm", rather than "the stump of her hand", and Sabrina has made no note of progress.

We obviously need to get Sayaka to copy Yuma so we can make Sayaka heal Oriko as a test of character. :V

"Sayaka, as your Senpai, I have one last test for you. You must overcome your own feelings, and forgive Oriko Mikuni."

" ... This is payback for handing you your ass during sparring, isn't it?"

"Yes, but it is also important, and stuff."

"A hero of justice must be capable of forgiveness and mercy."

"...I want to be angry at you for being so manipulative, but you're so blatant and utterly transparent about it that I can't be mad. It's weird. You're weird."

"I'm quirky, thank you very much."

"...Why is Oriko snickering?"

I have to admit, jumping to the last page and seeing conversation about gluing Oriko's head to her (presumably headless, would be weirder otherwise) body is quite a surprise.
