Can someone explain to me what a Free City would do, mechanically speaking?

For [Diplo], wasn't everyone talking about Main Roads in order to increase Centralisation and better tie together our territory? I don't see any of the other options as being too urgent, we can always do those in a few turns.

For the Golden Age, haven't quite a few people said that we are quite close to Steel? If that's the case, then maybe the "Random Materials Tech Upgrade" would get us there, or at least quite close?

Edit: Also, just noticed that RA has also increased by 1, and is still gold. Good? Bad?

Overall, the only thing I have Strong Opinions on this vote is GA choice - I think this is the best timing for diplomancing everyone around us.
Or maybe Admin Genius to integrate everything better is fine too, but I'd prefer to leverage Divine Fisting into diplomatic standing while the memories are still fresh.

@Academia Nut Did baby boom pay out this turn before decaying? How many refugees did we take in this turn? Did the study alchemy +study metal, or the boat roll from grand docks, give us any innovations? Did study stars pay out normally (-1 wealth, +3 mysticism) this time, or was it different due to the new tech? How much does the gulvalley canal cost?

Because they like the DB, I assume. It's an interesting flavoring. If anything I'd prefer to try to mitigate it or convert it to a trait.

First off, DIPLOMACY! Second, we grab the two Free Cities that will cause the least problems due to their proximity with our center of power. Then we diplomacy-mission to the southerners to see if we can't diplo-annex the Lowland Minors in some way, mostly to keep them out of the hands of the Highlanders, or see if we can bully our way through the Trelli into the Mediterranean. Finally, there's a bunch of useful reactions, building the glassworks will avoid failing the guilds quest, Expand Forest moves us towards completion on the yeomenry quest, and a Governer's Palace in Blackmouth helps with the Patricians quest Sadly can't afford this turn. Getting the Place to the Stars done is also good, and we have plenty of easy stability options now.

our last one won the war
our king (was he a genius or a hero?) gave us geometry and algebra
our next one could give us the world
or at least annex the HK or just manage things p well
