That is a horrible argument, you should definitely try to alter it to something else and at least vote for the preferred action for you unless the alternative is decidedly negative.
@Glassware too.

I'll be honest.

I have just been hit with a sort of camels back feeling and intuition about the poorly supported argument I can see brewing about the gods choice and I want zero part of it and just want to go with the flow and be done with this thread for today.

Like. Ehh.

My feelings are Ehh.

I'll vote for it since you two called me on it.

Your forgetting them wanting to kill the man who gave us iron.
Three things of note:
Attempted to stop us from getting iron
Attempted to stop the thing that got us horse riding
Attempted to blame climate change on sin instead of it being a natural change in the world's order

They have not proven to be any good for anything, save for writing down what the shamans learn in their studies.

I like Expansion a lot more then Balanced because I it's the one I want after Forest Renewal and it's ok into then

Political assassinations?

The only thing that came to mind is the insane iron guy.
That, and the Guilds assassination of everyone who got in their way before we cracked down on them with Blackbirds, and the way we killed the Iron guy sounded very casual, hinting that assassination isn't that out of place in Ymaryn politics even then, and our current queen had to be wary of daggers in the dark early on

Unlikely considering how the system seems to work at the moment.
Elections lead to people holding the office for life, the idea that they can be removed will probably first be explored via coups or forcing a king out for political greed considering human nature. You are optimistic, which is good, but in politics, which in Ymar is becoming more and more cutthroat, that isn't going to work.
We've already had political assassinations, repression of others and our main way to enforce order is to kill a bunch of people. Don't add to that by putting in the idea that the king can be removed from office
No, I'm not exactly being optimistic; I didn't disagree with your possible outcome. I just pointed out it was the pessimistic possible outcome by listing an optimistic one. It COULD go bad. Or it could go good. And which happens will be partially determined by our choices and partially by the dice.

Particularly considering that Ylrulthyn only has Mediocre mysticism, I think it's important we don't let RA get too high.

Guys, the point of specifically sending a War Mission to help is that it is the South moving to support the North. It's us deliberately saying 'you are one of us, so we will support you just in case.' Sending the Red Banner is no effort on our end, no sacrifice, and no show of loyalty. Also, I have a strong suspicion it would push Lord's Loyalty to evolve.

Being able to change the king via an election rather than a coup could be a good release valve, but it would mean that there would be more interference with the spirit's decision, particularly unpopular choices.

If there's any chance of getting this plan through, I'd prefer it. So, changing back.

Build Mills deals with our immediate econ and econ slots problem, and the wealth and art costs can be mitigated with no urgency.

But it's more likely to go bad if we look at prior experience and our knowledge of the priesthood and politics
