I don't like any of the options.

Diplomacy isn't really diplomacy. It's the girl seducing the Highlander price to use him as leverage against her own people. It also brings the Highlander's into our political process again. Or it brings horseback riding to the fucking nomads, which is just... no. Finishing her monthers work gives us something, and you are all leaping at gunpowder, but I have my suspicions that AN is fucking with us. Still, I would rather her be hidden away doing her mothers work than working at nasty diplomacy.

Honour of Elites -> Best of the Best
Whether in war or in art, the People want only the best, damn the costs
Pros: Increase Martial gain from raising elite units, bonus Art and Mysticism for certain actions
Cons: Increased potential Martial loss in fighting, increased social stratification, increased costs
is fucking terrible. I like the increased martial loss, as it's super easy for us to raise it again, but goddamnit this is narratively awful. We need to combine it, at some point, with a moderating influence. We're building ourselves towards classical feudalism, which doesn't surprise me, as it's an easy trap for civilizations to fall into.

Possible major advancements, and won't trigger the strife we were warned about.

Another thing to consider is that Rolwyna going into her mother's dangerous experiments or to the HK may ding our stability where the other two wouldn't. There was that line about how people feel the king's support of Lolwyna angered the gods, and trying to diplo the HK is likely to get people talking about 'getting too friendly with foreigners.'
Diplomacy with Highlanders is heavily implied to be diplomarriage, so I am for study or, failing that, war.
Not sure it is really gunpowder though.
Because the HK's new hero is a boy? Boys and girls can work to cut up a river nation between them without love or political marriage blossoming.

The social stratification already existed... This appears to have just generalized it. I think.

It includes social stratification because Honor of Elites had social stratification, not because it's somehow worse.

Double main blacksoil? Make the half-exile problem more visible.

I actually like it sense it is one step closer to Arete.

It's spread to art now which is great!

We can lose stability by:
1) Engaging in war and angering people due to the trouble we're causing.
2) Engaging in "diplomatic missions" and angering people due to the "dangerous foreign ties" we're engaging in.
3) Continuing research and angering people who believe the research is angering the gods.
4) Running away and angering people by giving horse cavalry to the nomads. (why is this an option?)

It literally says increased social stratification. What the fuck else is this supposed to mean? The 1% just got richer, and the poor have even less of a chance of rising high.
It existed/said that in the preceding trait, as I demonstrated earlier (before my response to you). I.e., nothing appears to have changed.

That's pretty wishful thinking. While I guess she could just be planning to get him to back her, that still would give the Highlanders a lot more influence on the Ymaryn than I'm comfortable with. And if she does marry him and use his support to become King, well, we might have some problems...

I very much doubt engaging in war will ding our Stability, even if all the others do. Rolwyna is already a welcome sight on the battlefield. It might drive her dad to an early grave, admittedly.

Or we might get another Hero. Heroes back to back to back to back.

Wishful think more, please.

The original trait Literally said increased social stratification... its just carried over to the new trait since it didn't eliminate the disadvantage, it made it so not only warriors get the advantages.

The gods seemed displeased with her father, bringing unstable but torrential rains that had ruined fields and crops and brought strife to farms and cities, although not as terrible as ancient legends said they could become.
The rain is getting worse. Has the Dam become our priority one mega-project, or can we start on the palace this main turn?

You know, in case you wondered if the Ymaryn really were controlled by SV.

Their most intimate interaction had been a theological argument over whether or not male energy was fundamentally 'hot' or 'dry' and how in the reorientation of elements she was conceiving this would arrange masculine and feminine properties.
When I read this, all I can think of is Lolwynna trying to make a genderbend potion...

Don't think of this as the science vote. Think of it as a young girl attempting to connect to a mother she never knew by exploring the one problem she could never solve.
Yes, the Ymaryn are going Disney.

Aww, but here I thought decapitations and bathing in the blood of your enemies were the staples of dating.

eh, maybe. Textually it just looks like she's running away, but that def might be a result if she gains a ton of power and is like "there's a better life for you w/ my home"
We are the "Salt People" to them. And given that they got their revenge on Hero boy's group, they might be here to stay. Ties could be pretty valuable.
