I'm gonna just update my vote and then check back tomorrow evening then. This is how calm, reasonable discussion doesn't happen.

Don't lower centralization, it's used against disaster rolls, and if we give even more power to the local chiefs they will become fiefs, and let's push them into lowlands. Study Metal because we might get next type of iron-alloy and new types of armor (lamellar armor is the most possible), and increase size maitaning portability because we can do strike attacks against the nomads by it.

I really wish people would stop voting for the combination of failing to recruit enough soldiers for the king to do what he needs and the riskiest option.

Hopefully the WOG is enough to shut down the sheer fearmongering some people are spewing forth.

I seem to recall it was. Might be wrong though
New Honour Value
Honour of Elites
The perfection of a skill in service to others, particularly martial skill, is among the highest achievements a person can have. Of course, who can afford to achieve perfection is not always even...
Pros: Increase Martial gain from raising elite units
Cons: Increased potential Martial loss in fighting, increased social stratification

It typically doesn't, but better administrators can typically deal with very high or very low centralization issues more adeptly. High centralization with a really bad leader is probably the worst of all worlds because the state will do stupid things more efficiently.
Will low centralization reduce the impact of our King's heroic martial?

[X] [Boats] New Design: Emphasize Size

Heroic Martial King: "Man, sure wish we had bigger boats."
Player base: "Yeah, I know better."

Free breakthrough on our bleeding edge (heh) technology. Anything there would likely make iron good enough to rival bronze, and suddenly we can into steamrolling.

Unless of course plague+administrative incompetence+the king being away at war forces it even lower. I would rate that as likely.

Okay, this is just fearmongering nonsense. Putting our centralization down low will not automatically cascade. We're looking at less than a single turn there before we take actions to immediately increase it significantly, and we've already taken the hit from plague.

The time has come for Thunder Horse 2: The Horsening

That should give the Xoh something to deal with beside beating on the HK.

Well. This is exactly what I was thinking.

More importantly, we desperately need to develop a boat built specifically for size. Portability is nice, as is large portability, but we need to keep our people connected over vast distance. Size will do this. I'm waiting for the arguments again about how we don't have docks, but, again, we will have them, and not having them doesn't reduce our large boats to uselessness, it just reduces their usefulness slightly.

Size. Is. Necessary.

Think long term, please, rather than just what will get us goddamn longboats.

Please remember that evolving values doesn't always get us something good, especially if they are evolved in wartime. Study forest, on the other hand, could certainly help us alleviate our insect problem, and more importantly, we have never had a breakthrough in this area before.

I wish people would stop ignoring how going into war with just 1 econ whilst having Quality of its own as a trait and having too low a centralisation to maintain the strategic stockpiles might cause a famine to add onto the plague

You guys have never even discovered the negative centralization governments that most of your neighbours run on for much of their lifespans. Going much lower will force a shift, but Centralization 1 won't automatically blow up your government.

And yet another WoG that is impactful enough at any stage of our game to be damn threadmarked or something.
*sigh*

AN's WoGs, hopefully constantly updated

Okay, let's get it started.
Hope other people will be filling it too. Have to find a better way to organise it and to fill with previous WoGs though...

This is going to change it we take the Mass Recruitment option, isn't it? It's basically letting the chiefs raise their own personal regiments, right?

If only we had something which partitioned lands so that elected officials could make a census of the land and mass recruit from....say, districts.
It could even be distributed evenly, according to population. You could call it, I don't know...geographic method? Not like we ever had an opportunity to do so.

@Academia Nut No Black Soil study?

@ManusDomine Get ready! It's time for a Boat Discussion!

South-east is, basically, a way to just create more chaos in lowlands. Xoh are a bit too stable and big for my tastes with the last PU they've acquired.
Yes, so you instead want to create an even bigger empire to replace them. Do you recall the last time we funneled Nomads into the lowlands? They are now the Thunder Horse Empire with Xohyrissi at the helm.

On second though, let us not spend all our Economy. Smaller recruitment still has potential effects so , let's see what comes along.

We just had two new Ports open up and we have potential problems opening up in the West and the South, both controlled by martial heroes. Why are we not Building Better boats? Bigger Portable boats would only be helpful if the strategy was to divide the two. But we aren't, leading votes are either pushing them southeast or defending the West, both helped more by having larger boats to ferry warriors with.

We need to crush the nomads ASAP.
