I'm shocked how many people are willing to sacrifice centralization. That's a dangerous move. If we lose an offensive it's not that big of a deal, but destabilizing the country is incredibly dangerous. Also, study metal so we might be able to get better weapons.

Low centralization is basically a nation in name only. It's always easier to lose thing than to gain them. I doubt the low chiefs will willingly give their power back to the king

And there we have why I think we should go for this options. Let's not underestimate nomads.
Also, damn your WoGs can really be as impactful as the updates themselves.

You decided not to switch at the start and thus said that doing megaprojects was at least as important as war.

Ugh. That's fair, thanks. (I think I was still suspended from the thread at the point, so eh :V).

Wait, is it unlikely that we do blow up, or that we don't blow up? Does Centralization even go into negatives?

Negative Centralisation is what happened to the very first Lowlanders and, IIRC, the permanent state of being for nomads.

Apparently gifting iron to hostile nomads is not a big deal, hah.

did we gain immediate mysticism from the library or something?
Unless my record of the old civ sheet was wrong, we had 8 [-1+1], spent 1 on blackbirds, 3 on library, and then...ended up back at 8?

Fixed.

You guys have never even discovered the negative centralization governments that most of your neighbours run on for much of their lifespans. Going much lower will force a shift, but Centralization 1 won't automatically blow up your government.

Thank you. Okay everyone, we have word that Centralization 1 will be nasty but not the end of the world; I doubt it will prevent us from using Enforce Justice given this WOG.

this is an offensive war, not defensive. If the offensive fails we might lose men but will likely still be able to hold onto our lands and mines. If they get their hands on a few iron weapons it's not a big deal. Their current bronze weapons are superior anyway and they're not going to be able to figure out how to make iron themselves.

[X] [Strategy] Drive them south-east
We no longer have Nobility in Humility, we have officially forgotten everything that went wrong the last time we tried.

[X] [Library] Free Study Forests (Guaranteed breakthrough)
Forests! FORESTS! Trust in the trees we all love! Change my name to Treehugger, 'cause I'm not letting go of this any time soon!

[X] [Boats] New design: Emphasize size
Bigger Boats => More timber needed => More forests to keep up production!

On second thought: doing the mass recruitment leaves us far too low on econ slots. We'll be at econ 1 with either 5 or 6 slots left. That's ridiculously low, and basically impossible to safely get out of without a heroic admin... and we've got one who's below average.

Since mass recruitment is far too dangerous due to lacking econ slots, going for the riskiest option is too risky for my tastes. We should thus instead secure the MW and our trading post.

@Academia Nut
Is there any way to tell the provinces to work on a megaproject without spending our main action on it?

It's strange people assume study metal would give steel or iron alloy when it's more likely to give smelted tin or lead.

Edit: i totally meant lead.

Dang, i was hoping i was wrong :p Well, at least its not like we'll be super strapped for mysticism in the near future, between the temple and the library...
Also, i take i the library wasn't a major engineering project? You've forgotten the canal benefits a couple times so i wasn't sure if this was another of those times or if it was just not applicable
