I'm noting for the record that study forest may provide us tools to combat the infectious bug bites as well as suppressing bug growth.

I believe we have lost more production and life to small infection and illness than warfare.

Our hero wants new designs as said in the update.

I think we have different ideas about using the boats. Our bigger boats should be able to traverse the river, they just won't be portable, which is fine.
No, he wants larger boats, as said in the update. No mention of new boats or not.

Our bigger boats which cannot be used effectively without a dock will be able to go up the rivers which only became accessible to sailing missions when we developed portable boats... fascinating theory. Deeply flawed. Did you know that rivers regularly spread out into fords ~hip height deep or less, and tend to have rocks?

Because forcing resentful provinces together by force of arms under the mismanagement of an administratively incompetent king will do good things to our social cohesion, you know that thing most of our success is based on.

Let's shatter our government and then rebuild it by hitting people until they give in.

Orrr we could increase Centralisation by trails, which are long overdue anyway.
And do Enforce Justice later, with non-awful Admin leader.

@Academia Nut , is it intentional we do not get a free policy switch with the completed megaproject in time when we have some concerns more pressing than doing megaprojects?

And yet this is what people are voting for.... the mind boggles.

Not really, no.

Just a thought but if we don't relieve the Metal Workers won't the nomads then attack our trade post which will be hard to defend without a meat shield meaning we may lose it. Which will proc the downside of Lord's Loyalty and lead to bad times all around. @Academia Nut does this sound right or am I missing something?

It's possible, but with the river in the way and the area in between not being that rich, they may not bother.

We already are capable of throwing them back, we've been winning, we don't need to hurt ourselves by lowering our ability to tank disasters during a plague

Ehhh... if they hadn't taken bronze weapons off the Metal Workers and Thunder Speakers you would have probably been able to throw them back at the cost of essentially breaking your hand in doing so. As is the damage inflicted was about evened out on both sides, and their heir has proven himself a brilliant commander in the process. The Heroic Martial King doesn't think that the nomads can win, but he gives about even good odds of catastrophically fucking up the north if things don't go well.

what design, in opinion of our Heroic Martial king, will be most useful for such assaults from the river?

Portable+size.

ou know, if a Heroic Admin Hero takes away control of our turns, shouldn't a Poor Admin Hero then give us more control over them? Logically speaking?

Why do you think you're getting what amounts to a 3 Main option at the cost of centralization? That said, poor administrative kings can also screw up orders.

frankly reinforcing the metal workers isnt that important. let's focus on our own safety

The thing is, reinforcing the metal workers is all about our safety, our Hero King admit that the MW being conquered would be really bad for us & that doesn't even touch upon the danger of our trading post being raided & conquered by them, which if I remind you would trigger us really hard due DS loss of land

The fuck? We are winning! The Nomads don't want to attack us directly because we are too strong!

Well it's rather our enemies just not winning against us, then us really winning which is why our hero king is so worred about the possibility that the nomads would try to further increase their firepower & come back to kill us off

That's because they don't really understand that lowering centralisation to the bare minimum when we've already had issues with how low it is, are experiencing a major plague that is causing people to flee the idillic core provinces, facing a war from a Hath Heroic Martial King and a Nomad Heroic Martial Duo is the shitiest idea we've probably ever had, considering low Centralisation is how the Hath killed themselves

You decided not to switch at the start and thus said that doing megaprojects was at least as important as war.

Assuming we do not blow up in some mildly horrific way from being at 1 centralization during a plague and invasion

Unlikely.

[X] [Recruit] Smaller recruitment (+3 Martial, potential additional effects)
[X] [Strategy] Drive them south-east
[X] [Library] Evolve a random value other than Love of Wisdom
[X] [Boats] New design: Emphasize size

Guys I just had a horrible thought: if we tank centralization too far, say the plague/administratively challenged hero screws it we could lose some of the pillars of our society like communal land and redistribution which mister Stallion may solve the simple way by giving people land.

You say it as if it's a bad thing.

@Academia Nut did we gain immediate mysticism from the library or something?
Unless my record of the old civ sheet was wrong, we had 8 [-1+1], spent 1 on blackbirds, 3 on library, and then...ended up back at 8?

Did someone just say 'crucible steel'? I thought I heard someone say crucible steel.

We can tank it for now, we could probably focus the son on the Lowlands and burn them out, two birds with one stone
The nomad martial heroes always fucking crit against us....let's not take any chances
That happened once....

Also of all the posts I've made on this turn why is this the only one that is getting debated?

*laughs (sarcastically) at your foolishness* (N.B.: Not sincere at all. Please don't hurt me oh great manus domaine.)
Who needs administration when we can use Martial in its place?

Besides, Stability is necessary.
The nomad martial heroes always fucking crit against us....let's not take any chances.
And even when they fucking crit they still fail.

How about we maintain high centralization so that we are able to ACTUALLY USE our King's heroic martial?
