Somewhat tangentially related to that:

Firstly, it seems premature to say that we're probably going to miss lunch when we don't know yet what time Kazusa will want us to come over. She might not want us to come over around midday at all. She might want us to come before or after lunch. She might even say that she wants us to come over after school, in which case we won't have any excuse to keep Mami from going.

Secondly... do we need to keep Mami from going? For a long time we operated under the assumption that Mami should be kept away from Asunaro because we assumed that the standard PMKM-canon charlie-foxtrot was in full swing there and it would be witchbomb central. But if Mami is able to make contact with an alive-and-well Kazusa, then things in Asunaro probably aren't spinning out of control yet, and the witchbomb risk there isn't any higher then it would be at any of the other places she's been over the last few days. Even if Kazusa knows about the witchbomb, she's probably not going to blurt it out the moment she lays eyes on Mami. (And if, for some reason, she really wanted to witchbomb Mami that badly, she could do it by telepathy anyway.) And if Mami and Kazusa parted on good terms, then she'll probably want to see Kazusa again, and doing so would probably be a positive experience for her. Are we sure that we want to deny her the chance to have a happy reunion with a friend?

It's not that anybody's gonna try to Witchbomb Mami, but that events in PMKM are basically Witchbomb after Witchbomb after Witchbomb, and if any of that has started/is happening/is about to occur around now, we don't want Mami within a mile of Witchbomb City.

By all means, I think Asunaro should already have gone to shit. Combine that with the fact our metaknowledge doesn't line up with what we've heard of Asunaro so far...

I wouldn't be surprised if shit goes down as soon as we set foot on no-pants central.

Maybe our pants will magicall be replaced by a skirt!

We could bring Mami and everything might be fine, but I'd rather be wary.
 
Wary is fine, but there's not a good logical reason to not bring Mami without telling her "THE CITY IS FULL OF INFOHAZARDS" which will make her very worried for us if we go there.

Perhaps Oriko will help us and tell Mami that she has to stay here lest shit start hitting the fan here, if we go to Asunaro.
 
Should we be/are we considering taking backup when we go on our whirlwind tour? Obviously it might not be practical given most of our usual backup has school and/or is Mami, but I doubt Kirika's busy (getting Homura to sign a permission slip and convincing her to leave Oriko's side being the major factors.) It wouldn't necessarily indicate the healthiest mindset if we go in expecting the madness to flare up just as we arrive, but on the other hand we're walking into territory with some powers that do actually pose some threat to us and our usual backup might not be able to get to us if need be.
 
Given the wacky powers in play, Kirika's anti-magic might be the most useful ability to have on hand if a fight breaks out.

Or maybe we should just make that Grief tinfoil hat enchanted to block mind powers, just to be on the safe side. That's really the main threat. We could also do something we've been putting off for two days and use speckled enchantment to make all the defensive items that we've ever theorized. That might level the playing field a bit. :D

I would love to take Oriko to Asunaro. If not Oriko, Kirika.

You know, once Sayaka gets her clones up to speed, we can have Sayaka accompany us on our school-time trips.

This would be a very good thing, because then Mami would get jelly and ramp up her Ribbon Clone practice and get them working within hours. :p

Another incentive we can give her is, obviously, make Brina Clones for extra hugs. [ManipulativeBrina]Then tear up and tell Mami how unfair it is she gets double hugs while we don't.[/ManipulativeBrina]

Okay, I've been thinking about these two quotes for a while and... do we have anything more solid than what you've quoted?

Because it occurs to me that if we're roughly following PMKM canon, we could still be on the first 12 Kazusa clones. Seeing as we didn't tell Oriko anything about our worries of Kazusa witching out and being cloned, if the event itself it happened before we asked her, she could see it as it was in the past and it could easily be misinterpreting what she's seeing if she doesn't know what she's looking for.

"Perception without comprehension" and all that.

And this quote here reads like uncertainty on her part:

Not a huge fan of discussing this with Mami in private. Here's my take on it. (Edits from Onmur's in red.)

TBH, I think that the detailed votes for Mami are superfluous and megavotey. I'm just going to have Sabrina do it. She's on the spot and has better feedback, and she's demonstrated excellent handling of a few previous issues.

I feel like going that sparse gives Firn a bit too little to go in in terms of mood/goal guidance. That said, I'm cribbing parts of this approach.
