What about [] Write-in: Make him and his followers Carrion Eaters, and send them to an isolated location to practice their knowledge inside the land of the People.?

Why wouldn't this work? The Carrion Eaters should be able to touch star metal because their whole purpose is to do things the People consider heresy. Moving those who learn from him into an isolated settlement or away from anyone except him and the students. Should buy enough time for us to actually have a chance to mitigate this.

This is like the equivalent of someone stealing one of the True Nails and a piece of the Dome of the Rock to melt it down for uranium when people are suffering from radiation poisoning, and the pope is in the room at the time he tells you of his discovery.

The only way to hide this is to kill him now. Taking in the knowledge has the shamans screaming of heresy to the heavens.

On wax wings is from the legend of Icarus who on wings made of wax made for him by his father the great inventor daedalus flew so close to the sun that his wings melted and he died when he fell to the sea an interesting title and story considering what we are dealing with now.

Ok, I think you guys know this, but I want to emphasize it: this is going to be the most important vote in the history of the quest. No matter what option get chosen, this makes other votes look like a fart in a windstorm for its effects.
Yeah.

We are on the edge of something that will set us Three Thousand Years bare minimum of Everyone.

[X] Protect him and have him teach his knowledge (-4 Stability, -2 Legitimacy, -10 Mysticism, -10 Art, -2 Prestige, chance of infuriating the Metal Workers, gain Iron Smelting study chain)

SO HELP ME, WHAT IS OUR STABILITY AT?
COPPER AGE IRON SMITHING?
If you people take this from me, I'll honestly die a little on the inside...
We could become ridiculously powerful if this comes in our favor!
The tool upgrades alone would put us ahead centuries ahead of everyone else!
WE'D BE THE NEW METALWORKING HILL PEOPLE!
THE WEAPONS OF THE GODS WILL BE OURS! HAHAHHAA!!!!

It's infratructure set up at that point. Also the Golden Age is not valuable like this is.
In order to set up infrastructure we'll have to spend stability, when we're already at negative stability, meaning it'll be at least a couple more turns before we have enough stability to expand our metal industry, and that's assuming no more stability effecting events happen or something that eat up a turn.

Aren't you usually cautious of planning more than a couple turns ahead?

No.

Military Overflow is bad.
It's also the only one that lets them send war missions. But I concede that it needs a lot of consideration. Also a reminder to everyone that any Policy will take actions to boost whatever resources they are spending if they run out.

And so with his death new life springs anew nourished from his bones. Yes truly the spirits are cruel... so let's go punch them in the face and kick them off the throne. There someone new in town. Ro Ro Fight the POWAH!

I actually plan everything out that I can. This upset a lot, but luckily I actually do have a plan that could work with some modification.

I am in no way against planning if that is what you mean. Sorry if I am misunderstanding. :)

No that is not how the story ends the story ended with Icarus dying Daedalus being humbled and offering prayers to the gods and lived out his days in an island somewhere.

I'm not talking planning in general i mean long term planning due to events constantly overturning long term plans,

Something I think should be noted: Crow is 1/3 a Trickster spirit. Giving his chosen people the weapons of the gods to shak up the status quo? That sounds like him alright

I'm sorry I just don't think the negatives are worth the shiny

Even if we gain this knowledge how long do you reckon itll last before others manage to copy it?
Twenty turns for everyone else. Fifteen for the Metal Workers.

I shit you not.

Why?

One: Everyone around us does not realize that the red rock is star metal. We only do because of the Fallen Star from some turns ago.

Two: No one has refractory materials except us and the Metal Workers. They have not made the connection either.

Three: No one else has spy units. The Xohyssiri Swamp People broke away.

Those are the ones off the top of my head.
