That said, I can't say this doesn't annoy me; ah well, we'll just have to find ways to open up paths for excellence for all of our citizens. Our new honor trait might even help with that.
The new honor trait that explicitly has 'increased social stratification' as one of its downsides?
It would likely start you on the path of removing it.
Well that settles it for me:
[X] Protect him and have him teach his knowledge (-4 Stability, -2 Legitimacy, -10 Mysticism, -10 Art, -2 Prestige, chance of infuriating the Metal Workers, gain Iron Smelting study chain)

We may really need iron weapons and the like to stay ahead due to the fucking Eastern Thunder Horses unifying. We are kinda screwed either way.

Omfg, if we survive this and get iron, we'd be so set for a long ass time
The imagine is making me sweat and drool

.............just what the FUCK are the dice smoking?!

You know. Can you imagine the salt among negaverse!SV if they learn that the damned hill Elves managed to produce iron? Oh, and have a iron source right in their territory?

I don't see what you guys are panicking about. Low stability is more fun by far.

Also, this update caused me to laugh manically.

This unfortunately would mean that our dreams of expansion would have to be put on hold.

Fixing the superstitions and advancing down the iron age path is something that will require our full attention if we don't want to run out of Econ, Stability, or Mysticism.

The Elves are first to the next age. How...Ironic

It's important to remember that we got crit fails here, so us getting screwed by the nomads is likely just really bad luck on our side.

This is either the beginning of the end, or the beginning of something great.

You know, I could see nega!AN trolling voters about the 'Hill Elves' hinting at what they have but never telling them what it cost the 'Hill Elves'.

This is a good point. I'd suggest maybe leaving the provinces on defensive actions for a good while to get that automatically walled settlement bonus, that or Expansion to improve our forests. If the Thunder Horse conquer the whole of the lowlands we'd either have to turtle up or submit to vassalization-neither of those are the end of the world but there'd probably be some friction.

Holy shit. This... This changes everything.

I will say- had I known about iron being on the horizon, it would have been quantity all the way because that's one of the best things about iron is the sheer volumes of it available.

But man, the weird part is that we're essentially going to have to invent all the various metal martial items on our own, which means we're probably going to have an incredibly weird military tech base compared to a lot of other areas, especially if we dominate the region enough that they follow suit in our designs.

I'm also surprised no one is commenting on the government changing forms and us inadvertently cementing the rule of oligarchs.

With Iron versus copper/stone? We could afford to take the offensive and then some.

[X] Execute this maniac (+1 Prestige)
Odds are to high of someone trying to take the throne while were being invade because our king chooses to 'f*ck' the balance
