Honestly, thinking about it, this trait might not be that bad. We were pretty likely to pick it up anyway. After all, metal production is pretty poisonous. This may actually let us introduce decent regulations as religious rituals for dealing with metal.

First of all- while the Dam is appealing, and I want to go with it eventually with our new hero- but it sends entirely the wrong message right now. Mainly, it further promotes the Valleyhome centric-view that the northern provinces resent further magnified by the fact the King doing it is already one they resent and claim is part of the problem.

No, I suggest we leverage our heroic admin and diplo to rebind the Northern provinces to us with the awesome power of rush build.

We can devote 1 secondary to building an aqueduct in Stonepen, one to policy change, and then a salt gift to the Hathathyn/expansion EH.

My point is, the number one way to reaffirm the loyalty of the northern provinces is by showing them what benefits they stand to gain from our glorious union- immediately implementing the fruits of our efforts in Valleyhome for them does that excellently and pulls them away from the Stallions.

Furthermore, it transitions Stonepen from a pastoral economy into one more resembling our heartlands.

@Academia Nut have we ever had a king from the Stallions? I know we haven't had a hero king, but what about one of our anonymous standard ones? Also, do they have a bonus to hero generation or something?

I agree here.
While Megaprojects are appealing, getting the internal structure tied together before we have too much problems with distinctly different mentalities in south and north is more important.

If we manage to finish the dam in one turn due to symphony and policy action bonus, we'll gain a stability point which should help against the northern province, although we would be empty of econ.

We would be very empty, and could not do any bigger infrastructure projects up there.
Main trails and aqueducts in Stonepen should be one of our priorities.

I believe we already surpassed the Romans in term of cleanliness and sanitation, especially with the Garden project. Now we just need to replicate it across all our cities whenever we can.

We have three things that make us impressive against the roman.

1) Sewer system in which human waste flowed into a tailed pit and not into the river.

2) A cleaner system for turning human shit into fertilizer. It's good for the soil, but the Romans didn't understand how they get worms.

3) A cleaniness taboo that prohibit people from throwing shit or food out of the window or something.

@Academia Nut Do cities allow horses and cows into the city? They do generate manure.

Yeah no, blowing our load on the damn- stability or no is not going to make the North feel any less neglected. Because to an extent they're right. We've only really invested in the North to protect it from nomads whereas we've expanded dye production, made a canal, have built a saltern- etc. We've been funneling Northern resources into wonderhoring it up in our capital region and core provinces and the one real benefit the North got from us (besides some internal trade) has been foisted off onto the Stallions. The Dam can fucking wait, it's time to give the North some TLC.

Seriously Magwyna is hands down the best possible hero for reproachment with the North. Admin, diplo, and she's been strawmanned into representing everything they think is wrong with the establishment already. By breaking that expectation and breaking bread with the North we can truly start on the path to creating a unified national spirit.

Something to think about. The great manure crisis of the 19th century. There were too much horses in the cities, only to be solved by the automobiles, which only give us another set of problem or never really solved the problems of old such as gridlock, noise, and traffic fatality.

You are making a good point. Do you think Trails will calm them down enough to not make a fuss about her being woman and 'seductive' aka more diplomatic than them?

We'll need the Stability to deal with the problems that we'll face in the future. We'll get knocked down by 2 this turn and possibly 3 with the refugees, which is a pretty good indicator that we should get back our buffer.

Also, to all the people insisting that Stability 0 or Stability 1 was sufficient, you were completely wrong and your opinions on it would've caused us to suffer badly if they were listened to. It's a good thing they were ignored.

That's solved via not doing either of them. Human endurance is more than enough given we're the best species in the world at it; and a mix of Chinese wheelbarrows for bulk transportation of goods, bicycles for personal transportation needs, and rickshaws for transportation of others or faster delivery of smaller goods solve things incredibly well.

Horses aren't needed, as humans are more efficient and don't require all the needs that animal handling does to make the animal cooperate.

This would help in the short term, but wouldn't help with the long term problem that the northern provinces are too isolated and the culture is diverging from the capital. Since we don't have good enough communication technology, the best solution would be to encourage people from the North to move south and people from the capital to move north. Also, marriage ties between multiple levels of leadership.

I'm pretty sure it shows that the March is definitely Sexist by this point.
I think we need to takeover March soon, and divert their population off into other provinces.

Say... leave 10% of the original March there (but definitely none of the Stallion leaders should be there).
Distribute the others to be minority in our other provinces, until they're fully assimilated.

Debilitating Belief Gained!
Weapons of the Gods
Metal and things that come from the heavens are cursed! While the People will use that which is already present or trade, metal mining and open study now costs Stability.

As a member of the Metal Bloc , I must say that this is the worst turn ever.

That being said I think 6-8 Econ would be good to have now that the Baby Boom has ended. It provides us a nice cushion for a couple of generations. Plus we have Grand Sacrifice so Stability wouldn't be a problem. In fact high stability might get our people to chill out.

I chose Construction tech because it is rare as hell.

I think March was a mistake and we should purge them, possibly with the help of nomads. Fighting those was not as painful as dealing with March.
