Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

Protecting a Smile.

Mike Eisner was in full swing, his desk covered in papers, directing the marshalled forces of Lucasfilm while the Lucasfilm owners were busy crafting the latest Star Wars movie. Next to him was his secret weapon and frequent escapee of the childcare building on the Lucasfilm lot, Mary O'Brian. He should have sent her back, but she smiled at him, and he found himself pulling out the paper and like he always did rather than see her go back disappointed.

While Mike was susceptible to Mary's smile, It wasn't pure sentiment that made him follow her wishes and finish setting up her work area by handing over the now heavily worn crayons. Mary was demonstrably one of the most intelligent people he had ever met, and the people at NASA agreed. So did the Finance Department and ILM's wizards. She was also Four years old. So her frankly stunning calculations and leaps of logic that he was harnessing to give Lucasfilm the competitive edge were interspaced with inane, childish interests like her cat Alfred or the game she was playing with the children at school, or the power-armoured Dark trooper she had partially finished with the ILM Wizards…

"Please repeat that again, Mary?"

Mary nodded. "Because Daddy, Uncle George, and Mister Steven are Busy. I finished Dark Trooper Blueprints for Forest. Mr Shōji not here, so I left it on he desk. It done now, and Mr. Steven will see and be happy?"

"When did you leave it on Mr Shōji's Desk?" Mike gently prodded. Mary turned away, counting on her fingers. "Three Four Five mornings ago." She nodded with certainty "Five mornings. Ginger Cat Chase Eddie cat up tree before come in."

A glance at his desk saw no document stating that the Powered Exoskeleton for the Stormtroopers had been completed or shipped. It did show a series of key personnel rosters that a quick cross-check showed Shōji Kawamori working on both Star Wars and Zeta Gundam but over in Japan, working on the toy models for Sunset Toys for the period. Not Good.

"Excuse me, Mary, I need to make a quick call."

"Okay Mr Mike." Mary chirped as she returned to the Master purchasing list that she was correcting and annotating with pictures of rockets cats and power armor components.

"Wizards Works, You Sell them, We Spell them." came the lazy reply over the phone.

"Adam. Status of the Stormtrooper Power armor. Does Steve have it down at the Redwoods?"

"Um,, we're still not finished. We're pretty good, but Not Mary or Wally-level good at pulling never-before-seen tech out of thin air."

"You're in luck. Check Shoji's Desk. Mary finished the Blueprint. Get the armor Finished and get it to Steve down in California, or explain to Mary why you couldn't.

"Geez, Cant you fire and Blacklist me instead? Job hunting's less stressful than telling the kid we couldn't get it done."

"What makes you think I would give you that mercy. Get it done, Feet."

Mike put the phone down and turned back to Mary. "Sorted. What have you got there?"

"Picture of Ginger, and Mr Jones needs help adding. He not count this and this and added this wrong." Stated Mary, pointing between a drawing of an orange cat taking up half of the cover page of a financial report, an 11-page summary, and the original raw 370-page itemized list of purchases.

"Fascinating, Mary. Tell me more."

------

Adam Turner, better known as Feet,, put the phone down and tuned in to his fellow Wizards. "Okay, Call from the Bossman.Seems Robot PuzzleMan was given design specks to finish the Stormtrooper power Armour. We get it done, and we get it to the Crew down in the redwoods, or we face a four-year-old with a wobbly bottom lip."

"Not the bottom lip." someone yelled from the back of the Workspace. The resultant silence was deafening.

"Sorry, Feet. He's one of the New hires for Prop work," Dennis Muren commented as he walked across to the indicated desk. Shuffling papers opening plans until finding the correct one and gesturing the team over to look. Then he raised his voice to continue, "and has volunteered to Explain to Mary why it isn't working if we don't get it done."

"Holy..' is this even possible?" stated Marc Thorpe seeing the layout

"It should be Mary mat, which always checks out. Besides, it's just a bigger version of the suit she designed back in March last year. Gears and power supply, yes?"

Feet nodded. "Let me get the Mill warmed up and check the Truck."

"Quite a bit of precision fabrication to do, though."Dennis continued, " Marc, take page two and start copying these across the metal. The finished design will be intimidating enough without adding anything extra as weapons."

Marc deflated slightly before collecting the blueprints and starting off in the direction Feet had gone. Dennis continued, "The rest of you, we still have a Schedule to keep. Return to your projects, but keep an ear open if we need you for a rush job."

Various nods were given as the wizards drifted back to their tasks, even as the Sound of the Mill powering on rumbled through the shed. It was harder to focus with the noise, and more than a few would go home late as staff were diverted to finish the project and drive it down to the forest, but they cheerfully performed their magic to keep a small girl Smiling.

potentially.

If it passes, yes, and Mary gets rewarded with her stuff being in her dads movie.

If not, Mary might cry and claim that Steve is a meanie who didn't like the idea. :V
Is this enough to Keep Mary form calling Steve a Meanie and keep her smile?

I figure Mary is Popular enough with ILM that they would happily bend over Backwards to make sure her projects go through even if it involves a late night or two

I'll just make my Omake here.
I decided to make the Omake about the writing of the film focus on three character
[]I Want this Man in My Office (A Script lands on Mike Eisners Desk, and things get complicated from here.)
[]Another Trio? (someone gets ideas)
[]I have an idea (Unknown Effect)
Animated Show Pitch:
Alan Wake
+15 to SP...

I really don't know how to reward alan Wake.

Also, I just realized something. Bruce has over 1000 SP.

He's about to become immortal.
------------------------

Perhaps it could be produced or be done by next year? This is just a suggestion, not a demand. I'm fine with the +15 to SP.
WEll, the thing is, I've been playing Alan Wake one and two and just want to give more than that... But can't come up with anything.

Plus you have 1000 SP, is it really something you want to change?

-[X]I love the Power Armor: So a new uniform for the stormtroopers was made, it seems Mary wanted to see what it looked like. So you got some stormtroopers with weird stuff on their arms. Meant to be exoskeletons, but they aren't. Maybe you can work with that. DC: 40
-[X]Warwick Davis, the greatest fan on Earth: So you were surprised that the kid was a fan, and really really wanted to meet Luke and Han… so you will do what every kid wants to do, and give him a day he will never forget. DC: 40
-[X]I Think that this Script is terrible: George may have written a few lines that don't make sense. Anthony is a little confused and you both want to talk to George and Steve about that. Like 3p0 being a god, and him telling stories, but how will he tell the stories when it was… well boring. DC: 35

Well, you couldn't say you were surprised. ILM took some designs that Mary made, ones that Mike approved of… and well it got weirder.

Now the frames themselves were not powered, and powerful enough to be called exoskeletons, but thanks to some wires and frames making it easier to move in, these behemoths of armor were able to be moved easily and safely, and it was painted black to make them so much scarier.

Death Troopers as Steve proclaimed when he saw it, and they were far scarier than anything that George personally could come up with. After George tried to come up with a better name, he just threw up his hands and said that Steve was right and that was good.

Reward: You got death troopers.

Increase final film quality.

Well, it wasn't really easy for you to do anything else because Mark and Carrie had already decided to spoil the young boy with an incredible amount of toys and gifts so that he could feel comfortable.

And damn you were shocked when you learned that Mark got him all the star wars action figures and comics that he didn't already have… and Carrie managed to get the costume department to make him some extra costumes to use for his own personal use.

George and Steve even got into the action by taking several pictures and signing them to show his friends that yes, he had indeed been on the set and worked on Star Wars.

Hell warwick blew everyone away with being Wicket, that young Ewok that Kenny was supposed to play, but sick, and well, to be honest, you were just shocked that the young boy had so much talent.

But when you finally went over to him, you could just… well felt like there was nothing you could do or say to him.

Than he just smiled as you walked over. "So Warwick, how is the set?" It was stiff and awkward.

Yet he smiled. "It's awesome, and I know you wanted to talk to me after the day was over, but we got so busy, but it was awesome! Really awesome with how you and Mister Lucas just… understand Star Wars."

"Well, he did create it." You said. "But I hope that you've been enjoying the day. Like-"

"I just want to watch you work… it's like you become this totally different person when you're acting and I want to learn from that."

You smiled. "Thanks, I didn't think you looked so highly of me?"

"Are you kidding, it's great and I just want to try so hard to be like you in acting." He smiled. "Can you tell me what you do?"

"Of course I can. Though it's a little complex."

"Well I can keep up, Carrie said I kept up with her, and she was really happy about it."

Now you had to try. "Alright, well one thing is, I learned this from my father an he learned it from Clint Eastwood. 'If a character is weak, how do you make him strong… if he is strong, how can you make him weak. But never make it too much, only flashes.'"

"What does that mean?"

"Never go too far one way, when you want to keep it moderated." you said.

He still didn't get it, but he smiled and said. "Okay, can I try?"

"Go ahead."

And boy was he excited, but there was also that youthful failings as well.

He was going places. You think… no… you knew.

Reward: You and Warwick talked and you learned that everyone was showering him with praise for what he was able to do.

And you think George is getting ideas thanks to that young man.

Unknown effect.

You George and Steve huddled around the script with the changes. "George we have to do this." Steve said. "I don't know how to do it otherwise."

"But we can use some stuff in post." George protested, but you raised a hand.

"George, what can we do in post besides sound effects and certain line dubbing?" You asked. "It will sound stilted and awkward." You paused. "But by doing this… we can make it seem more fantastical, as if this was a fairy tale being told to the Ewoks, that they could understand."

George threw up his hands. "Alright. You win. How are we going to begin it?"

You circled a page 1 and then the opening crawl. "A Long time ago, in a galaxy far far away."

George then shook his head in amusement. "Okay, lets go for it."

Reward: during the scene and the fairy tales, you dropped a line in there to make it far more like a fairy tale and a Homeric epic as well.

It was too much, and you went over time, the logging company that you were renting the space was wanting to begin without any more delays to get those redwoods.

But Steve managed to use it to your advantage, as the film showing the cutting and falling trees would be perfect to show just what type of damage the empire was doing, and while everyone was able to do it, and do it well…

It was taxing. Two days and nights of non-stop shooting made Steve nearly fall asleep under a tree that was about to get cut.

And while Steve was not hurt, the lumber company made you all pack up and leave.

You managed to get everything you needed. Just…

But it was hard on everyone.

Reward: More film quality added.

+2 to Steves Stress.
----------------------------------------------------
You are now in LA for the final days of shooting the Film.

Steve has 2 Stress. 4 more and bad things will happen
------------------------------------------------------------

You have 3 Actions

[]The Final Fight: Emotional, raw, and utterly cathartic. That was what George wanted it to make for his final battle in his trilogy. Steve was unsure how to do it. You were less so. But you had to try. DC: ???/???

[]A Few Nights of Stars: So you've been visited by Mike, who is, for his part… happy as all can be. So why does he look like he's about to go to war? DC: 30

[]A Space Battle Epic: So the space battle first edit was made… and oh boy was it… Well damn, was that a shot that was CG? How did they do that? DC: ???

[]How Mark Makes it known: Mark is a bit unsure about how everything will be. So he's coming to you about what might happen when it all ends. DC: 45

[]George Lucas and Continuing to Develop Film Technology: So… George, what are those cameras and what the hell do they do? DC: 30

[]Billy is Being… Billy: That man is so smooth that you really think that George is underusing him. Then you saw the ship scene. DC: 35

Final fight aand Space Battle Epic are a must, after that it's a toss up between Billy and George developing technology.

Personally, I'm more for Billy.

Also, SP means Screen Presence if I recall correctly.
