My issue with this is that I think handing out one of our very important coms to Hego is an impractical move. Our heroes frankly need that constant line of communication more than Hego does.

For that matter, we should probably assume that anything we say to him could be overheard, so no saying anything too sensitive.

EDIT: a possible way around this would be to have one of our people get a com and a note with more sensitive information to him at a less conspicuous time and place.

So, I'm not really happy with any of the prompts out there so far, so I'm going to suggest my own. I'm somewhat relying on the fact that, in "Interlude: Truth, Justice, and..." Hego was noting that something felt off about all this. So I'm trying to take his response to my leading question into account, so we don't have to have another vote on this conversation.

Refinements are extremely welcome, as I mostly just want to get this approach out there for discussion.

I don't like the com for reasons other people have already covered, and is she just going to stand there writing a note to hand to him? But I like what you have her saying, so

I happen to like this. The sort of thing Mirage is good at. Other one is a bit heavy for the party if someone's listening and might cause a scene. This can be brushed over and is very power of friendship lasts. (and honestly not like Mirage wouldn't have something prepped for future communication.)

Time zone shenanigans mean that I come late to this, but all the same I'd like to offer this prompt for your consideration.

It is mostly the currently winning vote, with a highly enhanced dose of shipping and some badmouthing of Buddy Pines to give shape to Hego's latent suspicions, without actually revealing Mirage being neck deep in the cape murder plot.

I disagree there, personally. Having one on Hego gives us a whole new vantage point, and an early warning if something happens to him while we're still sitting at the gala. Our heroes will still have the other three coms, so as long as there are two people are together at any given time (and splitting up into four solo parties is probably a bad idea even with every com) they can swap coms around to keep everybody in communication.
 
For those of you worried about losing one of our coms, I can see the concern, but I have two main counter arguments:

First, more or less everyone on our team is at least somewhat experienced in Intrigue and covert ops. I consider it quite likely we have backups, and even if we don't, odds are we won't be in a situation where all four of our people are in separate places, so missing one still shouldn't be terrible. And even if we don't, I wouldn't be surprised if Mez or Lizzy could cobble something up in time to get it to him.

Second, Hego is likely to be a key player in this, so losing contact with him very well might be more dangerous than losing contact with one of our own people.

I'd kind of assumed she'd just step away to somewhere more private (anywhere not next to one of the party's VIPs would probably qualify) to write the note.
 
Personally I am more concerned that secret note or unregistered communicator can be found and traced back to us at some point. Either when/if Evelyn will lure Hego away to implement her mind control scheme or later if people subdue him and try to investigate what happened.

Yeah, regardless of what happens and how I´d prefer if our involvement either remained unknown or became known in a *positive light* to allow us to assume stronger position compared to Olyympia and whoever else is involved once everything is said and done.
