There WAS a chance for that. But the US government is at the same strength it was pre-calamity. So there's basically 0 chance now. If you wanted to part from the US government? That chance is gone.

We have to live in the reality that while there was potential for Doofania as a separate country? we missed it. And unless we want to pick a fight with the US government (which we WILL lose) we're not getting it back.

What we can still get is unofficial recognition and sovereignty. But we can't do that if we don't cooperate.

You do realize that even at their current strength, the US would have no chance against the likes of the GalFed, Toffee/Phobos or Bill?

So we could still seceed officially if they get punted into the ground again during the endgame or something like that - again, we just have to be smart about things.

And yeah, even as a sovereign Doofania I wouldn´t mind cooperating with them.

Until we recover from the aftermath of this crisis, there will be no inator activation. We can not risk another fire right now when we are already so busy recovering. Also, we need to start taking Personal Attention more often, because, given our luck, rerolls are pretty much needed to ensure that important actions succeed or do not fail too badly, and even one reroll is valuable.

give up on Doofania's dream, Never

If you start a country in the middle of another country without the consent of the latter, who do you trade with without water access and (as near as I can tell) a regular amount of commercial planes for a moderately large city?

I'm not being sarcastic. You could come up with some novel sollutions to those problems if you thought outside the box, but I'd call that a major issue to overcome if you seriously tried annex the Mormon states. Never mind the fact you would be surrounded by an enemy on all sides.

Maybe we could look for potential trade partners using an upgraded version of the Other-Dimensionator. We're already aware of the Underworld.

We've been told that if Bill gets free it's straight up game over for us.

Which is why I want to investigate Bill so that we can figure out what's going on and stop him from getting free. Since we currently have what amounts to a Secret timer to doomsday that we don't know about. No one else seems to agree with me on this. But as far as your comment goes. There's no endgame there. If Bill beats the US, we all die. If the US gets injured fighting bill and succeeds, we'll probably also get injured fighting bill.

And as for Toffee, We seem to be the only ones who hate Toffee. The US seems to be cooperating with him just fine (they don't know his new genocide plans, I suppose).

Beyond that we really can't secede until we get Dimensional transit and trade working out. And even then it's not the smart move. I want Doof to grow as a person. He can be responsible and protect all the people of Doofania without being their official ruler. He's doing it now. No one is stopping us from calling ourselves leader of the Tri-State Area. People seem to actually like us too! Official secession is messy and doesn't result in any more recognition or praise than our current situation does. And puts our people in a worse off state.

But whereas Perry had personality/his own brand of charm, Kat is just annoying.

I'd honestly hoped this would be the last we'd see of him, but of course we roll a 2 and he gets away.
A Nemesis is good because it nets us stats, and one for Doof is even more valuable, because it improves our overhead. Now we just have to see what actions are available to chase him down, if we can assign Doof to it, and if we can assign Coyote.

How is this, by any metric, our Win? The Galactic Federation can claim this as a win. We achieved nothing other than slightly mitigating the damage of Kat running through our territory. We survived but that is about it.
First, I did use very clear quotation marks on win. Secondly, we pushed out the invading army and forced their leader to retreat, so insofar as anybody "won" this event, we did.

Well, Doof once removed the entire Tri-State Area from the ground and drove it around, we can just do that again and either farm clouds for water or steal from lakes we pass by. It's not that simple, but...

Ultimately? This is Heinz Doofenshmirtz, when it comes to tech capabilities he could just as well teleport the entire Tri-State Area to a different dimension where America doesn't exist. The only reason we haven't already is due to game-balance.

Huh, now I wonder what the other Kingdoms got in terms of logos...
I'm working on a corporate doc for Gridlocked as a side project, so I've devoted thought to this.

  • Glomgold's symbol is the pound sterling.
  • ENCOM, Cloverleaf, Khan Industries, Xanatos Enterprises, InventCo, and DEI all use the logos from their source material.
  • DrakkTech has a blue and black "DT" in the style of the Kim Possible "KP" logo.
  • Kronos has a "K" in the style of Syndrome's "S" for "Sitter".
  • In addition to a mask for the Yokai Zaibatsu, they also get symbols for each of their members:
    • The "K" in Kreitech becomes a "B" for Bakaemono.
    • Sycorax uses the logo from the show.
    • Funtelligence is just the robot head emoji from Google.
    • The Yakuza have the kanji on the back on Yama's shirt. It means "mountain" or something, but I don't remember.

Doofania is but a dream that can only come to fruition in three ways:
  1. Building an island in a patch of water no one cares about
  2. Building a space kingdom that avoids alien retaliation
  3. Finding an obscure enough dimension that neither Toffee or Phobos will show up there
Getting official real estate in the Hellverse will make the public ask if we were serious earlier. Forcing the government to insert themselves into our colony to make it the same delusion as before.

Getting real estate in the dimensional boonies also works but we can't actually live there as it breaks the masquerade.

If I recall right, COBRA in the Marvel GI JOE series used an earthquake machine to make an artificial island appear and prepped their lawyers ahead of time to make it a sovereign state called COBRA Island.

I'm not saying to cause an earthquake, but I know a character who can do that. Just saying.

[X] Devote 2 Stewardship actions of moderate difficulty to repairing the damage

FINALLY! Something for Roddy!

[X] Devote 2 Stewardship actions of moderate difficulty to repairing the damage

Well, it's not like we have any Stewardship emergencies at the moment, so going with this

[X] Devote 2 Stewardship actions of moderate difficulty to repairing the damage

Again, *seven Income* is right out and even *four* would be dicey right now despite us probably raking in some cash over the Collabs we just started and the Reports for we are still waiting for.

So, as sucky as sacrificing both our regular Stew option is, it´s the most workable alternative for us right now

[X]Devote 1 Stewardship Action and 4 Income: Phineas and Ferb
I want my crit success, yes? Moderate difficulty has more problems with P&F chance of failing rising. (Though if two does go through, I'd suggest Roddy and P&F collab.)

Maybe if we crit one of them we can cancel out/mitigate the rainfoodinator.

Or a fourth way - the US Government crumbling. They're back to full strength now but anything can happen. Just because they've been on the resurgence doesn't mean some new threat out of left field, or even just a string of bad rolls, might not bring them back to their weakened state or even lower - we can't assume their current strength will be permanent any more than their weakness at the start of the game proved to be.

I'm pretty firmly in the pro-Doofania camp myself.

You have to admit, the US shitting itself and collapsing into a new round of civil war would be awful for everyone.
