You mentioned keeping the people observing Sabrina in mind. Well, Sayaka explicitly wants Rionna imprisoned, once we get antimagic set up.

Keeping Rionna's body in her shield was clearly an imposition for Homura, and she wants an alternative found.

Mami is pretty obviously uncomfortable with gemming as well.

So. With that in mind, shouldn't our first step be discussing the containment situation with Yuki and Kirika? Sure, maybe Rionna would rip her limbs off to get an anti-magic bracelet off - but that's something to be adressed and fixed, not put off for a nebulous "later". Just line her whole cell with anti-magic projection.

Dangers will always exist, we minimize them, but to this extreme? How long could it take to actually prepare professionals to deal with meguca? Months? Would we put a person in basically a magical coma for that long, when we have a choice?

The meguca, teenagers in general would not go the lenghts we've gone. We're trying to do better, to make a more humane world. Putting someone on ice like that for so long, I don't think that's what we've been going for, what we've been asking of others.

I don't think Sabrina's friends will react as you say. We've been the one to push them to try something better. They know what we're trying to do, and we're taking plenty of precautions.

Rionna will be cut off from her magic, and while some still active effect outside could try to come to her rescue, she'll still be antimagicked and guarded by Yuki, an extremely strong defensive meguca within her domain.

I'd much rather ask her if she thinks these measures are good enough. Again, if she says no, I won't oppose Gemming.

I'll start by saying, I'm not here to start a fight. I'm here to argue my point.

That point is that we've already asked our friends. They want us to keep Riona gemmed. Homura, Mami, and Sayaka all agree, Riona needs to be gemmed. O&K probably will too after hearing what transpired. Lets hold off on waking her until we have the proper facilities. It's only going to turn out worse for everyone if we wake her without them.

Say we wake her and anti-magic fails. Everyone in the room gets Shaded and there's nothing we can do.

TLDR: Our friends want Riona to stay gemmed, we do not have the facilities to wake her. Lets not.

Our friends want Rionna to be gemmed until we have the facilities to hold her, yes.

So, we should work to obtain those facilities. Discuss the situation with Yuki, if she feels she can't contain Rionna yet then aquire what she needs so she can, and in the meantime look for sources of therapy.

TL;DR - Nobody's arguing to re-embody Rionna now, and it's our responsibility to get the ball rolling so she (and whoever else we end up capturing in the meantime, Airi included) can get proper treatment.

Please note: This is not a personal attack. I am not attacking anyone- that's not my goal.

Except Onmur was. We do not have the proper mental healthcare facilities, nor detainment facilities to properly take care of Riona at the moment.

Lacking mental healthcare wasn't a reason to gem Airi, and thus shouldn't be a reason to gem Rionna. Being in semi-isolation in a well furnished room with provided reading/viewing materials is likely less mentally stressful then being kept in an artificial coma.

And lacking detainment facilities... well, yes. But that's something that can probably be fixed pretty quickly if we talk to Yuki.

We've already hashed this out in detail during the discussion of how to handle Hijiri/Airi, and I'm rather confused why people have changed their positions since then - surely we should try to treat our prisoners consistently?

@Onmur Thank you for trying to stay civil. I do appreciate that. It's true that the argument was not presented in full until Gadjo summed it up. But even so, please don't accuse people of being dishonest. And keep in mind? Different situations, different responses. Yes, it's easy to assume that whoever you're arguing is arguing in bad faith. I'm going to ask you to, well, ask. Assume people are arguing in good faith, ask, clarify people's positions. People can change their minds, even!

And I want everyone to try and do that too. As I said, I put the banner there for a reason. Just... look. We're here to enjoy PMAS, right? Try and discuss, not argue. Assume people are participating in good faith and try and clarify - both your own position and the other's.

No. We should change the treatment depending on the person. At the time, we couldn't handle Hijari that well, so we did what we could. We couldn't handle Ono, or Oriko, or Kirika. Should we give everyone house arrest because we sentenced O&K to house arrest?

Should we give everyone access to magic because O&K have magic access?

We didn't have the mental health facilities for Ono, or Hijari. We don't have the facilities for Riona. Why do it now when we can and will have better ways of dealing with this later? It's just stressful for everyone involved.

Since Firn is taking the decision of gem/jail Riona out of our hands (thanks, seriously) then decision is hot to take the rest of the day. As I see there are two main issues which run against each other right now:

- Sabrina is mentally tired, so she may want to end the day early
- Shopping with Homura is scheduled for later today, meaning a long night ahead

Solving can be as simple as asking Homura to reschedule, but we still have ask and there's some chance the trip is time-sensitive (like the one for the meteorologic forecast center). But for now it's still unsolved.

Real Edit observing that Filraen asked me to stop:

I think there were a few disagreement: About the probability of Riona being able to take confinement not-too-badly; the importance of freedom of choice, harm of temporal displacement, and harm of simple confinement.

Tangentially, since so many people seem to hold the opinion that confinement is so harmful, we probably have taken too long in getting a psychiatrist for Anri, or at least in visiting her, so we probably should get on that ASAP.

It does come down to what you've said, in the end, though.

IIRC, Homura was going to raid the JSDF rather than the Yakuza. Bigger guns, I guess. She did say she does need money (to pay for the apartment she's picked for Yuki to enchant?), so she was fine raiding the Yakuza instead.

From a slightly OCC standpoint I think that being able to do something else like shopping with Homura would do far more to fix the threads/Sabrina's mental tiredness than sleeping.

We already asked Nadia about any magical organizations of note, and didn't come up with much. I feel like if Firn had some super important group of note in mind, it would have come up then - the Half Life references really don't seem to point to a "Black Mesa" existing imo.
