[X] The rules as they presently stand, but with explicit details on what exactly whose rules entail.

Not really that much to say.

I personally never had a problem with the mechanics and I feel they make it both fair to our efforts but with true risk, that's half the fun for me tbh.

The rules were pretty straightforward to begin with in my opinion.

I know now, after having time to think and discuss things with people both in this thread and in real life, that the rules transparency was a convenient target. It was a way of being mad and angry that felt reasonable and productive. It really wasn't, but it felt that way. Therefore, I said things with a filter of anger and disappointment that were, frankly, unreasonable.

I especially agree with this point. Rules transparency was a convenient target once tempers were flared.

People were upset mostly because they thought we lost because of something that was not our fault (the not-split post which apparently removed our agency). Once you explained We could not win in the situation we ended up, people were still angry and so searched for other reasons to justify their anger. Simple as that

@PoptartProdigy You already know that not explaining why the post was not stopped (or not stopping it anyway) was a mistake, and in my opinion the only one you made. I don't think you would do it again, and that's the only thing to correct. The rules are fine, and most of us like them. Give the rest of details for those of us who like to read them, and nothing else is necessary.

And, as others suggested, next time you think an update might be controversial, explain why you did what you did and maybe ask for that 24 hours preemptive thread lock. It couldn't hurt anyway.

I'll say it again: I really like this quest, and i can't wait to hear Dandeer's monologue and maybe start to understand her like we should have tried to do in the past. I just want to take it back from where we left.

On a somewhat related note, did anybody predict the mindcontrol thing before we started actually doing the Plan instead of preparing for it? And if so, does anybody remember where in the thread it happened?

I was trying to look through the thread near old updates I think inspired some discussion on that topic, but I haven't had any luck. I am certain that someone has recently said that they called the mindcontrol stuff, but it can't find that post either.

Also did "Hot-blooded" trigger a bunch of times during our the final confrontation and even before when Dandelor reminded us of the Vegetan sorcerer massacre

I called the rebels being Dandeer-controlled, and even got a vote for it, but I don't recall anyone being even slightly suspicious that the conspiracy was subverted, because it seemed to be impossible given our continued freedom. Even after the fact I'm wondering why the hell we weren't individually taken out by Dandeer's pet SSJs.

Because Dandeer is stupid. A stupid magic savant.

In hindsight we made a lot of mistakes, but so did she.

In a weird kind of parallel, the central mistake to both our and her comedy of errors was the crime of underestimating the opposition.
And so it was a competition to see who made the worst mistakes. And in the end, she had the best (in combat) super saiyans.

I wonder if she had a similar mind control spell on Jaffur, so that she could call him to fight for her if she needed him to. I'd guess yes, unless she didn't want him to fight out of some twisted form of love.
In that case she effectively had 4 ssj out of 6, the strongest even (not counting Spirit Saiyan, which is a veeery recent development she had probably no time to prepare for).

Just imagine if she had attacked first.

I'd also like to add, in case it's not assumed, that I at least would like this to include posting the full list of rolls for a given update somewhere - they don't need to be nicely formatted or anything but just having a spoiler at the end with numbers and labels would be really appreciated if possible.

Yeah, she had 2 Lords and a patriarch where we had 2 Scions and a Matriarch. Jaffur being a combat monster was balanced by us apparently being a complete scrub.

On a related note, all those plans we had to ease up on combat training once we were decent in our style have died horrible deaths over the course of this fight, where it's been made clear we're practically incompetent in comparison.

Jaffur is strong and skilled, but we overestimated him a bit. He can't even use his kaioken to the fullest because of the wards, and he has not fought or sparred with anyone except Golden Monkeytm Kakara for the last...6 years? 7? I lost count.

In terms of combat skills, we're kid Goten and Yammar was DB Super Vegeta. Just a tiiiiiiny difference.

We should have done spirit saiyan before confronting Dandeer. The people advocating it were right.

Yeah. We were so certain that we had this firmly in the bag. Until literally the update where the fight started, I didn't think Dandeer was even meant to be a proper capital-V Villain, just someone who made some poor decisions in a shitty personal situation and doubled down on them.

There's more to say here, but it's pretty much been said already.

Honestly, that's the ONE decision i didn't understand. I remember everyone wanting to ask where Jaron was even if it was nearly certain he would share Jaffur's body, and then... just refusing to take any other precaution. I tried to push both for Spirit Saiyan OR going to ask Gohan if he knew something more, and everybody was "nah, we got this".

I mean, i thought we had it as well, but what was the harm?

Not to mention all the people worried about the politics, and really, wouldn't showing up to arrest Dandeer as a Spirit Saiyan be a huge political message?

But no, people were worried about Berra reacting badly, which I still don't get.

I don't recall how I voted, and I can't speak for anyone else, but while this turns out to have been silly in retrospect I was expecting Jaron to have a body and so was expecting him vanishing to be 'he has gone ahead to murder Dandeer', and wanted to stop thst from going wrong.

I don't think it was an unreasonable fear, even though it turned out to be the wrong course.
