Witchbombs should be avoided, carefully. I say we keep busy while sharing what we can say in public, and try and find out what Riona's intentions are, before we decide what to tell her about ourselves (that isn't already commonly known).

I don't think mini updates are necessary at this moment; rather, Brinapilot should be able to smooth things out, we just need to specify our approach.

I really want to drive this home: Being polite to Rionna on any level will not win us points and may, in fact, lose us her assistance.

This is a woman who has aggressively entered our space, made contact with us unasked, been aggressively rude to our companion and is currently asking us to share sensitive, personal information in a public space. Being polite is not on the list of priorities anymore.

While it's very likely she knows, I'd say it's a pretty bad idea to just assume she knows about the Witchbomb and mention it offhandedly, even if it is to say "don't tell Mami". Even if she knows, depending on her past experiences she could see it as a negative if we just blurt it out without checking. Not to mention Kyuubey. A simple, subtler "how much about witches do you know?" is likely to be better off, but it'd also take a while longer when she's already impatient. Probably better saved for privacy.

The obvious answer for now would just buy ourselves time to explain details and construct a privacy mechanism (whether it be sphere or bracelets). I would point out that interrupting us when she wants us to explain quickly would be self-defeating, but meguca aren't known for being the most sensible people around.

By bracelets, are we referring to the ones that put a filter over our mouths? I wonder if Riona would laugh at that, but I think the privacy sphere is more reliable.

We only covered hating Kyubey+lichbomb. I'm not sure they even knew about the witchbomb, the closest they get to hinting at it is saying that they'd normally ask about emotions, but that might just be about grief spirals, since they said we had that covered.
EDIT: and they said that before we told them what our power was, so it was just an inference from the screen name GriefBeGone. So I think they probably don't know.

I feel Riona is someone we would benefit being blunt with; I think the problem with politeness is that is 'wastes' time and effort (both to figure out and follow through). If we tell Riona what our ground rules are (and how she can most efficiently get what she wants from us), that might help social with her?

I don't think placing her with Oriko is a good idea. And the Shiogama group is still just beginning to adjust.

Honestly? Thinking about it some more, Riona may well take us acting like she might not know the witchbomb as an insult. Because, to be frank, it is an insult to her skill as a soulguca.

And she very much seems like the sort to appreciate a direct warning of who knows what more then a bunch of tiptoeing around the subject.

QB already knows we know, not being an idiot, but I added just a touch of not particularly plausible deniability instead of saying it outright.

I'm also expecting to help Riona find a hotel. If she turns out to want to stay, and doesn't cause trouble, we can find more long term accomodations, but she presumably has money, since she didn't tell anyone she was coming, and if she doesn't, we do.

That still doesn't give her the right to be disrespectful to us. It's also important to set the tone of the conversation: we don't mind efficency (actually I think we prefer it in general) but that we won't be pushed over by her attitude.

Let's allow her have get her own accomodations first. I expect Rionna already considered her need of accomodations before traveling, and if she needs our help we can help her, otherwise I expect her personality to grate both the host (Mami, Noriko&Akemi , Homura) and Rionna.
