I wonder if can make them a gift. From group to group.

Something... nice. And less ephemeral than cake or mumihugs.

Like, I don't know, some gold earrings? A nice clock? A set of custom made dresses? Or maybe a really big plaque or something.

A nice tea set, a dinner reservation for two and a thank you letter etched into a plate of solid palladium.

Wait, I maybe missed it- are Rin and Sakura official-ship, or is that just something that sprang out of the collective minds of the board?

They're a ship.

Rin used to wear glasses (which got broken) juuuust because Sakura liked them. :p

Other than that, well, you can see how protective of Rin Sakura is. How they seem to be attached to the hip...

Kind of reminds me of some other two meguca. :p

collective mind of me I think...

I posted a joke vote about saying how Rin and Sakura were a cute couple since Sakura seems the type to throw shit if we made such a statement.

people took it and RAN.

then again I made the comment based off Sakura's desire to protect Rin from the Lichbomb - girl clearly cares for the healer.

[Q] Start talking about a Meguca couples night
- [Q] All the couples are invited! You and Mami, Oriko and Kirika, Homura and Madoka, Rin and Sakura, Sayaka and Kyoko - you're probably missing a few.
-- [Q] Realize you just said that all out loud.

Would the Pleiades count as a single "couple"?
Hmmm... I don't think that would be correct.

A harem is not a couple.

They do have internal ships, though, I think.

...

... Ugh, I remembered Hijiri. I wonder how that's going.

...

*Niko is tied to a vertical-set table with a laser slowly inching towards her*

Niko: "Do you expect me to talk?"

Hijiri: "No, Ms. Kanna, I expect you to die."

KAZUMI INTERRUPT-

Hijiri: "OH SHIT!"

...

I'm sure they're fine.

I'm not sure that any degree of inspiration can be ascribed. Those are both really common names.
Well, they are named after them.
I guess a quote is needed. :/

(Well OK, I'll admit I thought the Rin and Sakura name duo was funny, but that's it, really!)

[X] Rin, Sakura.
-[X] Thank them for their help.
-[X] Ask Rin how she's doing. Show concern.
-[X] Potentially:
--[X] Apologize for dropping the fallout on Rin's shoulders, back then.
--[X] Thank her trying to do the right thing.
--[X] Share the UG are doing much better.

Fair enough.

Vote's missing something.

[X] Rin, Sakura.
-[X] Thank them for their help.
-[X] Ask Rin how she's doing. Show concern.
-[X] Provide any advice or support that she needs.

Okay, I've had no ability to participate for the last couple days but looking at this... I'm not even sure what you're trying to accomplish here or what the end goals are.

All things considered, the vote that's the clearest here is @Racoras

Soo...

Okay, I've had no ability to participate for the last couple days but looking at this... I'm not even sure what you're trying to accomplish here or what the end goals are.
Goals:
  • Show basic politeness and empathy for someone doing us a favor.
  • Find out why Rin looks so miserable.
  • Help her feel better and/or help fix the problems causing it.
  • Improve our shaky relationship with the Sendai group.

[X] Rin, Sakura.
-[X] Be brief. Promise emotional support.

Here to Help! This is helping.

-[X] Acknowledge how Rin stood up for her friends, and helped Akiko. ###Big Change###

The reason to take this tact is to comply with Rin's interests. She obviously doesn't like leading much, so she feels she needs to lead? Did she do that to be ideally just? I think she accepted leadership to help her friends. This does help Akiko, by holding the group together after Akiko lost that ability. Further, she got them all off of a moral agenda that had gone way over the line into trouble. Sabrina wound up becoming the face of that trouble, but it was inevitable. Therefore, understanding she did not so much 'use willpower to override the bad decisions of her people,' as 'stepped in to do what her people needed her to do' is understanding Rin better. I propose this is the way Rin thinks.

-[X] Ask Rin how she is doing. Take her answer at face value.

Social, and respectful.

-[X] Talk about the importance of understanding that a Wish is never over, and her girls need help to get up and pursue each of theirs.

Here to Help! We already were told about the problem. The coaching is the cure. Rin heals people, get her to try.

-[X] Get hit by Sakura, take it well. Give her an invitation to come back and spar sometime.

So, she's going to malfunction. We will be not giving her 'space.' But at least she wouldn't be running away if she hit Sabrina. Turn it into a bonding moment.

--[X] Curse back at her. (conditional, done to express fondness)

This would be the way to acknowledge her as a powerful person, not a bug beneath Sabrina's heel. Sakura might hate feeling powerless in comparison to Sabrina. Giving her a positive outlet to balance that, such as a 'rivalry,' would be positive? Trying to go full-Shinbo here, re-interpreting female conflict behavior and swapping in male conflict norms. Totally works as Original Flavor, amirite?

[X] Let's make it a summit! Share threat info freely.
-[X] Ask Kazumi if she wants in on the mutual defense pact.
--[X] It's kind of understood that we have one, but it might be fun to make it official.

We want to treat the other groups fairly, and not 'trick' anyone into fighting. If we tell them the truth, we are helping. Here to Help! Our best friends will come to fight. The folks who can't pull their own weight will have time to run. We need all the help we can get, but not conscripts. Further, I think we really would like to aide anyone with hunting. It is on mission for us, because if we prevent a hunting fatality, we get to save both the girl, and the witch. Kyuubey is the alpha predator. Recycling seeds saves them.

Making a 'summit' will also get Mami a better Social position. This is novel among Magical Girls, but they all know about this stuff from the news. We are answering a civilizing impulse, and that helps immediately.

We should offer Rin and Sakura a Mutual Offense Pact.

We'll agree to engage in continuous, low-level harassment of each other.

They can call Sabrina names. We'll have Kirika order unwanted pizzas to be delivered to their address. Then, they can spread scurrilous rumors about Sayaka and Homura, and we'll retaliate by sneaking into their base and stealing the laces from all their shoes.

It'll be fun, and a nice contrast to the mutual defense pact. And it'll fit with their existing motivations!

Liking it! But the vote script above comes close enough?

I forgot to invite them to the pact. Think I should add this to the vote?

-[ ] Invite them to also participate in negotiations and join the alliance.

Absolutely not. I've already said this before, and I'll reiterate it now: Volunteering Sendai to fight Walpurgisnacht is no way to earn trust.

We can make a separate arrangement with them at some point, but I don't believe the mutual defense pact is a good start to that whatsoever.
