I'm a little scared of Karachi and a possible naval invasion against a warlord that we have little intelligence against. Also a warlord who has access to large amounts of meat-shields to grind down any offensive. But, the naval investments carry it for me, I agree wholeheartedly that the navy needs help now (especially since it seems Bintang hasn't made her big move yet)

Personally I'm against Karachi. However unlike some of the shepherd boys crying wolf in this thread I remember that this vote isn't about going into Karachi at all. It is about whether or not we give the navy what they need to function in a war this turn or the next turn.

Now personally I rather overcommit and definitely give the navy what they need. After all if the navy war goes bad then it goes really bad really fast for us. We are running on no slack here.

A bit weird that a vote that isn't about Karachi literally has Karachi in the name of one of the top two plans. I wonder how people might get confused there.
Personally, I think neither plan overcommits and gives the navy enough for an early naval fix.

You know what would be an amazing masterstroke by Bintang? Not doing a damn thing. We spend all this time worrying when and what her big move is going to be and how messy it'll be... and she does nothing but force us to watch her and keep forces prepared to deal with her moves, keeping those forces from being useful elsewhere. She locks down forces and inhibits movement, simply by not having done anything yet. And she doesn't throw away manpower or assets in the Nod Warlord dick measuring contest that is the Regency War.

Presumably, she'll then make her move after the Regency War ends, when everyone is relaxing from the major fighting being over.
 
Honestly? Karachi could likely be forced with either of the two plans. It's not a good idea, and it probably needs pushing back a couple quarters minimum realistically, but it could be done.

The fleet in being strategy? It is a classic strategy of weaker navies. Once Bintang deploys the fleet, it will eventually be destroyed by GDI. However, while it remains safely in port, GDI is forced to continually deploy forces to guard against it.

A bit weird that a vote that isn't about Karachi literally has Karachi in the name of one of the top two plans. I wonder how people might get confused there.
Personally, I think neither plan overcommits and gives the navy enough for an early naval fix.

Also weird that for a plan that supposedly has us going in on Karachi like you assert it doesn't put a single die into actually doing it. But then again plan names frankly are meaningless. I once gave a plan name figgle puggle sticks and it won.

A series of decisions are made that allow for Karachi at a later date if everything goes well, but Simon's plan did not spend a single red cent on Karachi exclusive decisions. And is in fact very similar to the actual winning vote.

Seriously. Dial back the drama.
