Mmm. Its worth noting that we're already building its facilities with our towers. Like improving our facilities, improves other Magister's facilities, excepting the Ulgu Room + Burning Shadows tower which is only really beneficial to Ulgu Magisters and Journeymen.

All the other infrastructure that Mathilde and every other wizard makes use of though is helpful to a college in general.

To be honest, transcribing it pretty much annihilated my own ability to understand what I was trying to say. It was like I spontaneously manifested a Vancian spell slot to cast this thing. Could you please explain what you think I said, sorry.

Can't find the original post, but the one about the narrative impact of "yeah sure, let's breach the Articles and practice the most forbidden uber-corrupting art because we have a shiny that makes us immune to the mystical consequences" being bleh is on point. Honestly, Kragg's Belt giving us a free ticket to do what Frederick did without the allegedly unavoidable insanity is just meh.

Basically, this is wrong, because Mathilde was already functionally immune to the mystical consequences of the magic, because the thread is immune and Mathilde is the thread. If Mathilde got hit with them anyways, the thread wouldn't become corrupted, they'd just lose synchronization with her; she'd stop being our character. The belt just ties the character's mindset more accurately to the thread's, which is the point of roleplay, if that makes sense?

OmegaHugger is already corrupted, but BoneyM has seen what their wrongdoings have wrought and refuses to do that to anybody else. Therefore, they emphasize the mental willingness of the choice to use black magic, because that's how the thread itself can actually follow the storytelling element of descending slowly into villainy, I think?

Part of the powerstone class is also to make sure Mathilde has the most current theories on Wind condensation processes since she seemed to get tripped up a bit while studying it and working through the idea of it condensing from raw Aethyr.


I think we stop paying a tithe at that rank but don't quote me on that one.

It will increase the armor save by one at magic eight, I think, yes. I remembered it because it was talked about as a reason for us to finish the spell book.

The difference is that that's us loaning out our books and prepping some general purpose facilities or letting them use our more specialised ones. We found a branch of the colleges, we're going to be running an actual school that we have to build from scratch.

I'm perfectly happy with K8P being a popular Journeying spot with a semi-formal wizard club since that requires no additional commitment.

Here's the quote on the Table Top effects, and how they change as magic value increases:

6+: 1-2
5+: 3-5
4+: 6-7
3+: 8-9
2+: 10-11
1+: 12+

Keep in mind armour value is reduced by enemy strength, and 1 is always a failure.



It was the equivalent of a tier's worth of spells, and there were twenty spells above Lesser, so once you finished off the Petty and Lesser magics it was 7/6/7.

We have 4+ armor save, our robes are old enough to give 5+, and if we immediately received a staff we could theoretically enchant some 3+ armor, and use it instead of casting it if caught flatfooted without time to draw that staff (since sans staff we'd still only get 4+)

Quick Edit: Presumably the non-tabletop sections at least loosely follow these guidelines; 8 may or may not be as important a ballpark, it might be more granular in non-TT, but either way it would improve things.

If we made another one now, it would be better than our original, but since we want to clear our spellbook anyway we should probably hold off for efficiency's sake.

Basically as your response to ChronOblivion, and more importantly the idea that 'we won't turn her into a charciture with one touch and maintain control and that its our choice fundamentally'.

Your opening with Chaos is excellent because its completely accurate. If we go chaos we basically commit self destruction as Xantalos once described in his quest.

And like, the fundamental idea that the Belt gives us the ability to actually hold nuance and nuanced discussions instead of the flat typicality of Warhammer which is "touch the bad stuff and lose all agency and character connection."

No no, I'm saying we're already building the facilities it would use. The Neutrality room is really really useful as a research lab, and there's already one functional component of a College right there.

Like, de facto our thing is a very small chapterhouse and we're on trajectory to make it not so small regardless of making it official. That trajectory isn't particularly stopping, since we really like our towers, so by de facto we're already building it from scratch.

Ok so I know this is purely an aesthetic thing, and that proper 'dragon bone' benefits are off the table, but what if we make it into a reading chair...and then take it further. Each year we add a new comfort spell or two to it, add some defences so we're not caught off guard like Alakazamvampire, until eventually we're chatting with Lord Kroak and comparing sweet hovering thrones chairs.

Breaking down Dhar constructs seems like a lot less exposure than creating and maintaining Dhar constructs. It seems to be the difference between quickly picking something up and then rapidly throwing it and carrying something for a long time.

I mean, he moved the table top stats into the main char sheet, we just haven't been in the sort of battles where those stats are necessary lately. Depending on how karagril goes, they may come up there, or they may not if we end up just doing infiltration and assassinations the whole time. But i dont see why you think he dropped it completely? If nothing else these numbers on Armor Saves from aethyric armor that i quoted above is from september:

For the latter, not by itself. If you rolled very well while making the enchanted armour, that could be why you exceeded the expected result, either because you found a way to make the enchantment and the base material work in harmony, or because of some sort of conceptual link between the material and the magic.
