Boney said we aren't allowed another talisman while we use the belt.

Sorry then, I don't know what would qualify being a Talisman.
I was thinking in D&D terms, we already have a magic belt so a second one wouldn't be useful to us, so I though a different piece of jewelry like a ring, necklace, circlet would be acceptable.
What are our options when it come to magical/rune items?

We don't actually know enough about the Bretonnia of this quest to say for sure. Its a possibility however, because she considers herself on Quest.
I'd figure the Questing Vow is pretty well known, even in-universe. Bretonnia is right next door to the the Empire after all, and as Questing Knights and Knights Errant are supposed to go all over the place doing stuff to earn the next stage (Knight of the Realm and Grail Knight respectively) I can't imagine it's something particularly secret. Especially to someone whose traditional job is combination spy/troubleshooter for the Empire. Even if Mathilde hasn't really held that role since she left Stirland's Council.

Looking at her collection thus far, it probably shouldn't be a problem to allow on-request access for our minions or fellow councilors.

Broader access than that would be a tough sell though.
We can start giving out Mathilde Favour, redeemable for one day in the library!

I feel like when No Purchase and Darklight140's vote are pretty close, strategic voting for one new option, another new option, and No Purchase is basically just a vote for No Purchase.

One magic weapon, one armor, one talisman working internally (the Seed) and one talisman working externally (the Belt).

Since we prefer to use Aethyric Armor enchanted clothes, the only slot left is the weapon.

You know, I think the test of fire will be the next turn vote, but I feel the tasked voting and moratorium have been successful.

I wouldn't have been able to write that one big post without it, for instance.

We should probably write a paper with the Ambers on Chiselward Spiders before they leave, if we don't just bite the bullet and hire them.

@BoneyM what sort of thing can we do while still keeping concentration on Illusion?

As she gets stronger, she will encounter greater foes more and more. The past is not indicative of the future. And a powerful weapon would mean more versatility, especially with something like Kragg's S10 Rune.
I have to ask because this is bugging me... can the 'hits like a cannon' rune actually be used on an edged weapon? It sounds like its designed for blunt weapons. I'm asking this seriously, because the 25 favor crowd is obsessing over that one and it just seems like its a blunt weapon rune. Slashing and/or piecing weapons with that particular run would have just poked a small hole or line out of the target with the same force.
No. But isn't immersion its own reward?
I'm now picturing every wife and hundreds of others camping out in the wizard tower just reading the world's largest mom porn collection.
If Mathilde had a super-sword all the way through, before he fell, he'd probably never have been swamped in the way he was.
Probably would have been worse actually. The problem was that Abel and Mathilde got to far ahead in the first place. Everyone else botched their charge and they got enveloped. At which point Mathilde pulled off a hell of a last stand. I'm pretty sure that a better sword would have actually made him bleed out before the rest of the army could show up. Also, would have completely changd the hated of Sigmar thing and the piety advisore wouldn't have had a crisis of faith and have to reinvent himself.
How does having a massiveky good weapon makes at Mathilde worse at anything?
The point was actually that if you have one skill too far developed you end up using it for everything as its the main skill you have, then sunk cost fallacy kicks in and it gets the most improvement... causing a feedback loop. Also known as a 'When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail' syndrome.

At that point people are going to vote for things to upgrade the weapons legend over more practical solutions. Basically [Murderhoboing intensifies.]
Admittedly, Ranald showing favor on an ex-Bretonnian knight who hates him but that continuously does things Ranald the Protector agrees with... that's so him.
At which point she starts randomly yelling, 'STOP HELPING ME!!!' at the sky. Like the Warner Bros (and their sister Dot) finding a new 'special friend'.
I just had terrible terrible intriguing thought
Spiders writing their own romance novel.
Hive minded spiders... romance novels of the 'We' of them would be bland dead pan descriptions of what amounts to self indulgence... Unless they are trying to write a novel human romance and it'd end up being more 'The Room' then 'The Room'.
I imagine that's what it does. You gain more and more useful knowledge, but all of it requires you to use Dhar and have a high chance of failure if you're ever inattentive.
This leads back to my point about 'and how exactly do you know how to do this dhar manipulation of the scale and quality you can do?' That is the nasty problem with the Libra Mortis... all this knowledge with no explicate source. So if you use it you have to explain it... probably involves writing at least on paper. A panic button that get people freaked out when you use it.

Knowledge like this needs a source and the best solution I can come up with involves a new spell that lets you look back into your own memory and see the memories with MC's new vision modes. 'I reverse engineered it from the time I saw the grand theologian do it'.

There is a reason I said the book was dangerous to MC's action economy. Using any of this knowledge means explaining the source of this knowledge and MC's getting a rep for writing papers on these kinds of things.

At this point I'm worried its going to end up a 'quoting hazard' memetic problem. Its a good enough read on its own to generate random 'perfect for the situation' quotes Mathilde can never really use.

We don't know for sure, bcause Kragg has never put his Master Rune on anything except his own hammer.

(Though on that note, do hiveminds have an increased resistance to Chaos or something like that? Between the orcs and (in 40k) the Tyranids...)

Probably because hiveminds tend to be strong feedback loops you'd need to subvert a big chunk at one go, or they'd be removed as Defective.

Even so, she's literally never taken a class or interacted with a Bretonnian Knight. Can't be expected to know anything other than rumors

The problem with spreading around the Second Secret of Dhar (how to make it destroy itself) is that you can't do it without spreading around the First Secret of Dhar (how to use it). You can't properly explain the Second Secret without providing enough information to reverse engineer the First.

Think about it; it's obvious that's the case or the Church of Sigmar would have spread around the Second Secret long ago.

So the problem is not Mathilde explaining how she knows the information. The problem is that the information itself is an infohazard, because "Thoughts on how to destroy Dhar" also tells people how to use the stuff.

If its not already stated yet, an argument against the Questing Knight is that said knight would go on quests to find the grail (dependent on visions from the lady of the lake) and may leave the settlement for good.

Man, first it was the Mega Library, then it was the 25 Favor Sword, and now it is the Mega Library 2.0 now with hundreds of gold coins worth of romance novels. Absurdly rich people with literally more money than they know what to do with (and a lot less things that they actually want to do) do shit like this. These expenditures feel totally absurd to me, I am baffled.

I'd imagine the basics of every bordering nation aren't the sort of thing you need specialized classes for. It's the sort of thing that every scholar is taught at the beginning of an education.

We are absurdly rich tho?

Hey, a general request/idea in the thread.

In the future, when creating votes for Library purchases or other expenditures, can you include a note at the end about what the total cost is rather than expecting people to add it up for themselves? That way it's easy to go, "Oh, this is X% of the total money on Mathilde's character sheet right now."

Like, for the current leading Library vote, I know it's "a lot" of money, but I really have no idea how much of Mathilde's cash reserves that actually translates into. 50%? 75%? How much does it leave to build her tower and equip all the rooms inside it?

Currency is meant to be spent.
