Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
Not sure how active I'll be, given how ill-equipped I am to participate in decision-making, but wanted to register my approval publicly.

I wouldn't worry about that to much, I doubt every one voting is even close to lore expert, if you're reading the QM posts closely you're probably going to end up being as well informed or better than the majority of posters :p

Das good.

Only now I realize I spent a good six hours to read the fifty pages of discussion I was behind on...

Hey folks, is there a colored spell that grants a straight up Ward save?
If you are talking about WFRP, then it doesn't have such a mechanic.

If you are talking WHFB, then no, colored magic doesn't have Ward saves. It has Toughness boosters (making you harder to wound), WS boosters (making you harder to hit in melee)(there is light spell that grants WS10 I10 and another that Grants Mx2, A+1 and ASF special rule) and Regen save granters (which is kinda like Ward if you squint a little). It is all Battle Magic, of course, being WHFB.

A curious observation - while in RP Shadow of Death and Dread Aspect are Ulgu spells, on tabletop Shyish has Aspect of the dreadknight which is a mass version of the first one normally and a mass version of the second when overcast.

But how are Armor of Destiny, Armor of Fortune, Gambler's Armor, Talisman of Preservation, Talisman of Endurance and Talisman of Proction made, then?

These are generic magic itens, as I understand it, any army may buy these.

They are generic, but rulebook goes to great length explaining that they are still incredibly rare. Even crunch-wise you can only have 1 copy of any specific item in your army.

Pretty awkward tally. If possible I would like to have both Friends and Scouting overtake Armoury, but the gap between the two is soooo close that just voting for my preferred one among them seems more effective.

The tying loose ends vote!

We need to know what's going on, it's been a while. Though the scouting with Karak Azul throng option is also tempting; we do our best work when we have an avil to do the hammering on (or viceversa).

Better get this out of the way, building a tavern would be awesome too. Having a 'interact with humans of Karag Nar' point is also important I feel.

Edit: Alright, going for scouting.

Never really cared for those.

I agree. Armory is a really boring and miscellaneous action compared to a daring stealth mission or a covert friendship meeting. But people want their snake juice more than they want either of those. Personally I'm not voting for the Armory action at all, but I don't think the snake juice advocates would be willing to compromise. (Otherwise Friends would be my third place pick. Sigh.)

I want to keep up with friends, and this will also probably help with trade ties to the Empire. Also, I definitely want to bring them gifts - Not sure what to get for Anton, but we could get Wilhelmina a dwarven revolver of the sort we have, or something else similar.

Scouting would be nice, but I don't think it's vital. And I want to make sure Mathilde has something nice after the hell of writing papers. :D

Regarding why Getting Stuff is a full action, remember that it's all stored in a secret underground palace, so it would probably take a decent amount of time/effort to keep it secret while extracting quite a lot of stuff.

Unsure about this last one. I really want to touch base with the gang but we should also get out studying materials from Stirland. @BoneyM could we combine those two options? Loading up the Snek juice on a gyrocopter and visiting friends in Stirland should have quite a bit of synergy.

Not sure if you're aware but the third place choice is between Scouting K8P and the friendship vote, so if you have preference here you're going to want to remove one of them from your vote.

I should also mention that BoneyM has mentioned that armoury option which is in first place will still be touching base with our friends it just wont be an extended visit.

I am interested in what comes of talking with the Spiders. I'm sure that the Dwarves would love to move into the Chiselwardens, and I'm sure that they wouldn't like to spend more manpower to clean out the spiders than necessary. Which means that they'll have to wait until the spiders starve to death. But if we can get the spiders out of there sooner rather than later, we save some enemies of the Greenskins and get the Chiselwardens back in full control of the Dwarves ahead of schedule.

A win/win for everyone! Except for Greenskins.

Imagine if we manage to negotiate with them and they become allies? That would be one hell of a coup.

It feels like that because that's largely what it is on my part. I don't care overmuch for the Empire in its current state and the Dwarfs have been very good to us. As for the Grey Order, I have a firm skepticism towards shady government organizations that claim to serve the greater good as a justification for their actions.

Can you imagine how much worse the CIA would get if they had access to Ulgu? I don't think its all that controversial to mistrust them when they mindwipe us every five minutes. Maybe they'd even approve of our paranoia, considering how it fits with their institutional norms.

Your second paragraph has no relevance because the Grey Order and CIA are extremely different institutions.

It's pretty wack that in the same paragraph you critisize the Grey Order for being a nebulous "Greater Good." Organization (not true btw) you suggest that Mathilda should go rouge and do what she thinks is best for the world.

Talking about full disclosure with the Grey Order when we still have the Liber Mortis with us seems a little silly. If they find we've been keeping secrets from them it's not dwarven relations beign tense that would piss them off.

Well Mathilde does have fount of what may be high magic, maybe we can eventually make an enchantment of that sort with it.

I wish we had some elf favor...

Well, we could ask Anton if his friend, what cha-ma-call-him, dragon chap, has dropped by for a bit, and he could just... ask nicely?

Oh yeah, @BoneyM, you rolled on weather or not Anton has sorted out that civil war thing that was starting up when we bugged out to help the Dwarves, or will he need a bit longer for his dice to kick in? ;)

Edit: Personally I'd like to be learning advisor with a bent to setting up Wizard-Dwarf links and doing misc. Misc is a fun abbreviation. That said, if we do that, I will advocate dipping into spending some effort getting the local human government system off on a good foot and with an honest actor to being with if at all possible. And the start of an information network.... I wonder if Julie is interested in running that as boss-lady? Should be handy enough to ask her with one action if she's up for it. Wouldn't really be comfortable with the idea of her trying to engage in nepotism somewhere that looks to be so influential.

So, oddly, my picks for next turn will probably lean away from the stuff I want us to spend time doing, provided that we don't pick stewardship.

Nghh, if only we had an extra action. AP hell is real!

His name is Asarnil the Dragonlord.

On that matter, are there any elves besides Malekith and Morathi to still live since the time of the Sundering? Or at least that are older than the Empire? Ariel and Orion count, but not really
