Also, if anyone's interested, the Liber Mortis isn't a translation of one book of Nagash, but rather a translation of the best parts of each. Or, well, what Vanhel thought were the best parts.

This is a topic to discuss amongst yourselves rather than ask for a WoG answer to. Weigh the intended benefits against the possible consequences.
Knowing this thread, I expect at least 5 pages of discussion about whether or not we tell an instructor about our Ranald abilities.:V (I once left to grab some food and came back to 20 more pages of discussion to read...)

Can anyone think of any observed magical phenomena that has been seen that's worth a paper for the Colleges that isn't:

a) Rune-items in general
b) the Anvil of Doom during the Battle of Karag Nar
c) Waaagh energy during the Battle of the Citadel

Only list things you're happy with the Colleges in general to know about.

I don't think we'd like to share any of our serious research topics. Maybe get a writer to help us hammer out our papers on a reasonable schedule, but the learning itself definitely needs to stay private, unless one likes answering uncomfortable questions, like 'This is the blood of what!?'.
We could always recruit a Priest of Ranald. We need someone to run the shrine for us anyway, and they would be extremely helpful with the divine theurgy. They would also be unlikely to betray us. Plus priests can perceive the Winds of Magic and they might be able to help with our research as well.

If we were to use our favor to get the best possible instruction from a dwarf Ranger, would we tell that ranger about "The Night Prowler"? It's a powerful ability that would allow us to better infiltrate Greenskin/Skaven settlements, but it's a Ranald ability, and we're not supposed to be talking about our worship of him openly iirc.
Consider that dwarves are absolutely in no position to second-guess our strange Mhornokri abilities, given how far behind the lines we were operating already and that we are The Mhornokri as far as the they're concerned.

As to more generally, I'm down for shrine establishment, facing the taxman, and doing our recon.

Alright, I think I've finally got this figured out: If we want to carry a Greatsword, a Wizarding Staff, and a Sniper Rifle then we need to combine two of them or it's way too impractical.
No we don't and no it isn't? If we're not in combat just walk around with the rifle and sword on our back and carry our staff in our hand. If we get into combat put away staff and draw gun or sword. It's that easy.

The Mork/Gork situation seems relevant, though I'm unsure how much of our own involvement we want to advertise. There's also Mathilde's MAP.

EDIT: On the Mork/Gork thing, even without our own part in it a information on a ritual that was being used to create an entirely new aspect of a god (Only Gork/Mork) seems valuable.

Anything we saw about the dragon ogres? Including speculation about them subsisting on Azyr and not lightning tainted with Aqshy, if that's something Mathilde could extrapolate?

10 points is the pinnacle of normal Runesmithing. 15 points is the average standard of the greatest of Runelords. 20 points is asking for some of their finest work. 25 points is them doing their utmost to deliver the very pinnacle of what is possible.

Yea based on this 15 points is the minimum we should spend, only reason I'm not going to push for 25 is because we'd have to wait years for it.

The Dragon Ogre - Azure hypothesis.

Gork-Mork split: Greenskin theology.

Maaaaybe elements of waagh energy theory (experimental material from our Mork posession, very very carefully obfucated to not show the source of experimental data)

Just our MAP. We never saw Skaven tech or scocery so I can't think of anything else we want them to know.

There's no way to discuss the arcane ramifications without giving the whole 'Avatar of Mork' thing away. The MAP is Mathilde's paper to write, rather than a collaboration with the Journeymen.

This is good. Including.

I think we absolutely would mash that button, because of the narrative reasons behind why it gives favour.
Sure, but your example is Learning the axe which is hardly some great narrative.

Even a 20 point weapon still leaves us with a lot of favor.

But really, people who don't want to spend much favor, please support an axe when the time comes. If you are going to be thrifty, be thrifty. Being thrifty and inefficient is just bad policy.

People who absolutely want a sword, please vote for the upper range of favors, such as 20. We would be losing a lot of efficienty, and I suspect the loss goes up as the absolute quality such a favor expenditure demands, so if you want the luxury of keeping a sword, please, pay for the top-shelf stuff.

Then there's me who wants to be thrifty and symbolic, am satisfied with Max's Free Enchanted sword offer

I seem to recall we've had several thoughts and insights into Greenskin ecology and society, from -Snotling Town and squigs on up.
-Dragon Ogres, their concentration, weaknesses, and how they're only partially compensated for by Thunder Peak.

The observations about the Dragon Ogres seems like something the College would want to know.

Edit: Webered

The college would probably appreciate a report on the current political situation with the dwarves.

Depending on the results of the spiders, a paper all about them?

Maybe a report on the warpstone-mutated trolls?

Hmmm, wasn't there a thing with the greenskins and those giant spider colonies we saw on the way here? Something about the way they cohabitate (peacefully or otherwise)? I'm a little bit fuzzy on what about it might be important, though.

I assume your talking about a magical paper. Because there is a great deal from dwarf hold economics, towards dwarf campaign logistics, mix unit forces, and a whole account on the tactics used during the taking of the hold, and theory's for improvement and the addition of greater magister support. A paper on the campaign and the theorized effect vs observed effects magister/journeyman have on a battlefield and how it can effect the empire as a whole. See economic benefits, with all these human mercenary's, coming home to the empire to buy farm land. They will be buying tools and livestock as well. It would be a paper on how magical support of the empires ally's can have great effects on the empire it self. Encouraging closer relations with our drunken bearded friends.

That will be an in-person report.

The former is good, the latter you've got nothing to work on than

I assume your talking about a magical paper.

Correct.

Magic Mushrooms seem potentially useful.
