Alright, with the vote closed, it looks like we will be writing some papers on the magical phenomena, trying to convince the Amber Wizards to stay around and deal with some very upset spiders, and talking to some dwarf royalty.

Also, it looks like the Karag Nar penthouse won out. It's going to be interesting to see what we can do with it! (my personal favorite idea is to build an actual tower with the penthouse as the base.)
I am for this as well, time to hire some stone masons.

@BoneyM

Would it be possible to have a landing pad and hangar built for our tower? Would it cost favors or could we pay for it in gold?

Also, can we have cannon/mortar platforms added, along with cannon/mortars and their crews or have their crews trained? What would the favor cost be for such, if the cannon/mortar crews would be our "household guard" or something similar.

As a spymaster or Undumgi leader, yes. It would be part of the operating costs for that role. If you don't end up taking up that role, it will need to be paid for in gold out of your own pocket.

@BoneyM can Mathilde use her assets and shares in the Stirland trading company to establish branches in Barak Varr and K8P?

Yes.

1. Runes for preserving exist, but Dwarves are no longer able to put runes on fabric. It would have to be some sort of metal container. No bags of holding.
3. Runic crossbows are possible.
4, 5: Keep in mind Amber wizards prefer items that lack any whiff of civilization, which is why Esber's arrows and Seija's spear are stone-tipped.
1. Hm. Not sure if Panoramia would want a metal box (tm) runed up for seed preservation or preservation of druidic materials in general. Sounds useful enough, but maybe she will shun metal bawkses?
2, 3. Yeah, so gifting some decent runed-up crossbow to Johann or Max would be fun gift, I guess. Not terribly expensive for our well of favours, great tool for them if they want to go all shooty - which is not necessarily the case. Sigh. Maybe just good armour is enough, for Chamon users and all.
4, 5. Sigh[2]. Dwarfs are empathetically not good at "lacking whiff of civilization", right? Quite an orderly sort. Maybe we should just gift them those eggs or whatever bursts out of them?

We should do that then.

The EITC must expand to include Dwarfen and Eastern Trade to truly bring prosperity to Stirland and Empire. Plus I don't want Mathilde to lose touch with her old friends.

Mathilde sadly does not have a videogame inventory system. :V

Giant leather bag with many zippered pockets sewn into it, put all inventory items in their own labeled slots, Substance of Shadow each item, tie a rope around an anchor in the bag and make it float behind us through whatever shenanigans were gonna make the dwarf balloon plan work.

Doesn't work for the really large stuff per the spell, but it covers a lot of small junk!

Hmm, have we ever had a number for how much gold we're earning a month from our EIC shares?

Just wondering how long it's likely to take for the debt to be paid. (assuming the economy remains relatively stable)

Talking of hiring and equipping people, it might be worth hiring a grey journeyman to assist us as our spy network expands. I don't think we want to have an apprentice while we're based at K8P because 1. we're going to be busy and it takes a few years for an apprentice to be useful and 2. even more advanced apprentices (say we pick up one whose master died) need Magister supervision except when they're parked in the college for a while - not every minute but leaving them at the Karak while we take advantage of our personal mobility to go somewhere for a few weeks is not on.

Well it would not be a Shortsword for one, the idea is to have a very light but tough Greatsword that is segmented like the Ivy Whipsword.

We need training no matter what we do anyway.

But it is a Magic Sword that is able to react semi independantly, so it's very nature is beneficial to learning as it teaches you to wield it in effect.

Besides.... Whips are also useful for retrieving items and for mobility, swing across a chasm like indiana jones! You know you want to!
Ok.

Technically, not true, we don't need training if we just get a better sword, and while we would need training for a greataxe, we'd get a bonus to doing it because of greatsword training being similar enough.

I'm not sure that's actually possible anymore. All the sentient/semi-sentient objects like that were made ages ago. Things like Ghal Maraz, and the Throne of Power. Stuff like that.

No. That sounds too silly.

Personally I'm down with keeping a big weapon whether greatsword or axe since I like the imagery as well as the pistols since we can already use it. The sniper rifle seems a little much once we get the staff too. Frankly we tend too be able to sneak up so close to things that we dont really need more range than the dwarf pistol anyway imo.

And less practically I just dont like the sniper image with the character that's developed so far as my own personal opinion

I am on board with this - well, I wouldn't want to be a part of controlling it, but I'd very much love to do this.
I propose we do a full set of Last Visit To Empire In The Next Decade epilogue actions at some point - go talk with College, go talk with friends, take all possessions from the Stirland house, all the stuff. Do it when Ambers depart, for the fun little road trip with friends on the way there.

I actually think that an apprentice would be a good start if we want to eventually grow local Wizard community into a chapterhouse of Colleges of some sort.
Would probably be insanely popular with Chamonbenders.

Just one thing for those wanting to get us an ultra-killy 25 Favour sword. Just having a killy sword won't suddenly turn us into Mathilde Weber, the She-Bull of Karak Eight Peaks(an obvious pointing towards the Dynasty of Dynamic Alcoholism). I might have asked about the Widowmaker and the Fellblade, but I was kidding.

Anti-miscast, no. A general panic button that causes all magical energies to be sucked out and grounded would be possible, though.
So would this automatically negate any miscast at the cost of ruining our enchanted robes? Or just break all our active stealth spells?

Still worth it. Battle Magic miscast are no joke.

You would need to win over the Cult with some deed you could leverage for a Gazul-sword but it would be possible.
I'd have thought being involved in the Sylvania campaign would qualify as a foot in the door, at least. They are the anti-undead faction of the already pretty anti-undead dwarves, after all.
