Awesome. :)

Going to vote for social turns that are social, not ones that are supporting our work. I feel the need for more whimsy.

Ah, missing Skarsnik and Grimgor. Oh well.

Anyone else thinking that Gork and Mork are famously not about pivoting quickly, and we may see these two pop up in unexpected places in the future?

IT might be also interesting to invite Asarnil to Lourleron for social action. He might be interested to spend some time there and it would be a flex to Eonir about our connections.
On the one hand, he hasn't been among elves for nearly 2 centuries.

On the other hand, it's Asarnil. Prince of Caledor, probably some kind of fan of Caledor I and II. Even though he hates Finubar, he's almost certainly some variety of imperialist as far as High Elves go.

Also, the Druchii are still there.

....idea, why don't we import a bunch of Asarnil's biography into Lourleron. I am sure the locals will love it and it is a perspective on the outside world from another elf.

Skarsnik was stabbed to death by another goblin when Mathilde disrupted the ritual of Only Gork.

Leaving a giant cunnin' shaped hole in the world, as we just saw. I figure the greenskin gods are going to put something up to fill that hole, I'm just not sure where.

If only to give grimgor the proppa sort of counterweight, so he can get stronger.

I dont care about any social other than one.

Gretel nation, rise up. Its our time to shine. No waystone project members, no Belegar, no Kragg, a d as much as it pains me to say it, no Panoramia.

If not now, then when? This is our call to action!

I really want to talk to the Druchii, first to know what they're doing right now, second cause I think the possible trade with the Sorceress is a good idea that would benefit us and the whole Old World than it would benefit her. To name a few of the things we could get from Sorceress Myrielh and tried to give a little argument about why we might want them:

-Books and information about Enemies of Men (Orcs, Skaven, Beastmen, etc.): Useful information to have that could help the Empire, and most other nations really.

-Books from Nippon or Cathay: extremely rare books to get, we may end up getting Cathay books somehow but otherwise I doubt we'd be getting Nipponian ones. At the end of the day these are more bonuses for KAU and very rare books which we may leverage to obtain rare books from other libraries.

-Books and information from Lustria, from terrain, to lizardmen, to maybe a Saurian lexicon: the Empire seems to lack a lot of info about Lustria and this could help patch that hole and maybe, just maybe, manage to keep the poor mayor of Swamp Town alive.

-Books and information about Albion: we know one of the Gray Lords knows about it (although they didn't tell us anything). So it stands to reason they would know too and with a bit of luck we may be able to get some info from them.

-Books and information about Ulthuan; honestly I am just curious about what the Druchii would have written about Ulthuan

-Books about Naggaroth in general (society, geography, history, gods, etc.): They'd be extremely rare books in the old world which we could leverage with the cult of Verena for books they have. This is most likely the only chance we'll ever have to obtain them. I am also curious about what the Dark Elves have to say about Hekarti.

-Books about True Dhar: Probably hard to obtain and after a certain point most likely sabotaged, but regardless of the sabotage these would books would contain how Druchii sorceresses learn and cast magic so they'd be great to learn to counter-spell them. Also it might be a good idea to get these before either Elfication in case we have to fight some Druchii sorceress.

-Books about High Magic: probably one of the very few sources of High Magic books. It's a good chance to learn what High Magic is and how it works and maybe help us with Windherder. Most likely these won't be tampered with as the Druchii don't do High Magic and their value would come more for them to be able to counter spell the Asur.

-Books about other exotic magics (Gut magic, goblin magic, Cathay Magic, etc.): Just more books about magic. I doubt they're tampered with in any way since Druchii don't use these magics.

-Books about Chaos: On one hand, a chance to learn more about Chaos and Chaos sorcery and how to better fight it. On the other Chaos.

-Common books from Naggaroth (example: textiles): just more rare books for our library which is always nice.

Also there's the fact that we could get books about the winds of magic. They are most likely going to be tampered with, but we can just stash them away until we can get a Grey Lord like the one who flexed on the Sorceress to take a look.

For almost every variety of Elf, their experience with foreign Elves is bitter enmity. It is possible to overcome that with sufficient diplomatic skill, but Asarnil is not in possession of any kind of diplomatic skill. That means the burden will be entirely on Laurelorn, which means they need to have a need for Asarnil's services for them to go to the effort of reaching out to him and tolerating the Caledorian bullshit that will inevitably fall out of his mouth.

Elves aren't like puppies, you can't just put them in the same place and have them automatically become friends.

I think there isn't actually a "giant cunnin' shaped hole in the world", just one in Mathilde's paper, since the energies that would have made Grimgor and empowered Skarsnik were stolen by Ranald through Mathilde. Also, given that those said ultimate examples were ultimately engineered by the Bird Brain in trying to separate Gork and Mork, it's likely something like them can't come about again.

@Boney

In this turn we had Eike perform Branulhune training, do a EIC action and study petty spells, that appears to amount to 3 AP worth of stuff.

Seeing as Mathilde herself has 5 AP, does Eike also get 2 personal actions we don't have direct imput on? Or does Eike just get 2 less AP then Mathilde does?

Less her paper, more her soul. Mathilde knows deep in her psyche that there SHOULD be something, but her mind tells her there isnt.

In a way, she is sort of reminiscient of Wurrzag, who is also deeply in tune with Da Great Green and has been searching for Da One True Git for a while now. Makes sense, since she also became an Avatar briefly.

I think we disrupted the timeline for that and sort of zeroed out the balance between them when we Morked the Prophet of only Gork. Skarsnik is dead and a few clans of goblins were exterminated when we took K8P/VAU, so I frankly believe we might see some oddly balanced Orks in the future.

I get everything else, but I'm not sure what this is about. Fire Mouth?

There does seem to be a focus on Firebellies in those books.

All of Eike's actions this turn were written and rolled with me keeping in mind that Eike is dedicating about two months to each of them. That's why, for example, she rolled four times for learning new spells. You could give her twice as many things to do, but that would mean she'd have half as much time to dedicate to each.

Now that Mathilde has actual books on elementalism, it would be interesting to read them with an eye towards Bok to understand how he is and isn't a "standard" elemental and maybe work towards understanding how elementalism interacts with Teclisian magic.

Given the importance of water spirits to the various tributary rituals, it's possible we can just ask our Eonir colleagues what the deal is with Elementalism and Elementals, and get at least a somewhat useful answer.

Given that elves can learn multiple lores of magic, they may well be able to learn Wind lores and elemental lores, or develop magic that incorporates both phenomena.

I could well imagine that some of the Grey Lords can perform what we would call Elementalism, just as there are Eonir who can exploit the same type of magical phenomena that Hedgecraft does.

Firstly, typos:

On to the rest:
With gentle effort you manage to draw out of her just enough to learn that being the bastard daughter of a professional concubine has left its mark on the girl, and as you go over your interactions with her you can see how a deep instinct for not drawing unnecessary attention has influenced her behaviour in the past. She's having trouble with a spell to create sounds because part of her believes fundamentally that she needs to avoid making noise.
Okay, fuck you, Boney. I just woke up, and I already wanna cry. You can't just do these things to my heart.

"You get me those Dwarves and Verena'll need earplugs, you have my word."
Konstantin strikes me as an Elector Count version of King Kazador, and I love it. He makes me almost wish we had taken up that Spymistress job, but alas, saving the world must come before all else.

As for the rest of the update, looks like good things all around. Eike's still the best Apprentice to ever Apprentice, be at as a Wizard or merchant. I love that she picked up our Aethyric Armour mastery, though I have to wonder what that says about Regimand; why didn't we get a super-special spell mastery right out the gate, huh Master? Smh, lazy old man couldn't even be bothered to properly teach us magic. Codifying going well is fantastic, especially with a first use scenario like that, so here's to our third(?) spell in the Grey College's spellbook! Finally, I actually kinda like getting Jade Journeymen to do the tributary work; gives them one hell of a feather in their cap for their Journey, and it'll mean more proficient Jade Ritualists in the end, which sounds great.

I'm not so sure about "no Panoramia". Maybe Sofia action is one-on-one, but maybe it's wider gathering, like two Master-Apprentice pairs.

Arranging a play-date.
On a similar note, I hope we get the chance to introduce Regimand to his grand-apprentice at some point.

Edit: Though, given its Regimand, he might have already spent 6 months interacting with her in the guise of a friendly tavernkeep.

Though then again, Mathilde probably would have noticed?
