Ahhh. Another pun permanently etched into the Spellbook. Wonderful, simply wonderful. Future Generations will not escape Mathilde's Humour... What? It's useful or something? Well I suppose that's nice as well. :V

Also huh. Another trait can be traced back to Mathilde. Even if she'd have had something similar thanks to her Grandmother, her time within the EIC has clearly pushed it further. I'm not going to think about the other one. Hopefully love, care and the raw magical power to destroy all who oppose her soothing embrace of Ulgu her will help her with it over time.

In terms of social. We should absolutely talk to Sofia, even if it risks terrifying her. Maybe Wolf can soften her up for us?

Also, while not all +1's are equal: we just aren't doing anything with ogres so the stuff about gut magic is unlikely to ever be relevant my brain was very happy to see us get +64 out of one library action.
Gut magic is relevant for our non-Eshin Skaven-friend. Given the latest developments there, he might actually be trustworthy to give that to him.

Actually, @Boney how about him and how he's dealing with the fact that he's got years to live and also his previous society was just seriously shit.

Also, Eike shows off. Not just her logistics chops either. She's kind of making fresh journeyman Mathilde look bad here. Or maybe Regimand wasn't all that good at teaching magic? Maybe he doesn't have much in the way of apprentice level spells with masteries.

Eike getting Rune of Ulgu right off the bat kind of shatters the usual difficulty curve of learning magic.

@Boney To my understanding: The list in the update is what we could pack up and move to the KAU right away, because the Elementalists were really cooperative. But we can now send scribes, and that'll get us the other stuff, so lots of engineering but also assorted other things.

Yeah, what you got was what the Elementalists dumped on Mathilde. She just has the rights to start looting the other libraries. They're listed on the Organizations tab as 'Copying Rights secured for'.

I would like something based on our upgraded Sword rank. Be it sparing with the Empire's finest, the Kadoh crew in Laurelorn or Asarnil.

Added:
[ ] Swordplay
Test your newly-completed swordfighting style against the swordsmen of Tor Lithanel.

Better to leave the idea to percolate, and let the passage of years prove it.

I hate to mention this but, shouldn't there be a Faded -10 malus on those?

Though maybe our Waaaghbane trait counteracts that or something... Or, wait.

Last turn, we wrote a paper on Waaagh Magic witnessed during the expedition -- and Eike partially picked up the Waaaghbane trait during that. Did that refresh our memories of Greenskin stuff as a result? ... Probably shouldn't have, since that was a paper on Waaagh Magic, whereas this was a paper on Orc religion... though admittedly magic and the gods are closely aligned for Orcs so...

Omg. That is. Just. wow.

If we were to ask for copies for all the colleges books that would be allowed to be copied as our gigaflex reward, might we be able to ask for the colleges to also handle the job of copying them?

It's just that our scribes are going to be busy for a long time

A paper that actually described the PoV of it as a participant would have, but she was deliberately trying to keep any hint of that from coming through.

Chickens, eggs, etc.

Should we concerned that Elementalist have so many books on Dawi Zhar? Are they experimenting witn not!deamonbinding with elemantals?

Because they have a lot of books on Dawi Zhar and it is twigging my paranoia.

- If there's a book topic that you think the Elementalists should have had - not that you wanted them to have had, something that it's so self-evident that they would have it that you think the lack of it is an oversight on my part - let me know.
With all those far-flung Gods and Lores they probably would also have stuff about the almost-local specialists in frozen water.

Perhaps one of the ways we can support Eike might be letting her take acting lessons at Altdorf in order to ensure she can get comfortable with attention. It won't solve the underlying problems but being able to get in to character and speak up as needed will help.

We might even pair it up with study Intigue action and have her watch people and act them like they are characters in a play.

They have a single letter that reads "try it and we'll kill your entire fucking College".

Ok, yeah. I get ya.

But what would be the going price of getting a chicken from the colleges in terms of Orbs of Sorcery, or is that something that depend on the dice rolls?

I mean, we'll start talking about 'gigaflex rewards' when there's a performed gigaflex to be rewarded.

In regards to the dangers of non-mist battle magic, spending 1 AP on making a staff from Drycha's legs seems like it might be a reasonable intermediate step that doesn't commit us to anything once we've finished it, particularly if we're okay with expending some College Favor to get an Ulgu powerstone and integrate that into it.

On the topic of Eike's Field Trip, I have an idea that she probably shouldn't follow through with, but that might be worth thinking of.

Middenheim is the home of the WIzards and Alchemists Guild. It is theoretically possible for them to do Chamon at our charcoal. Maybe to turn it into something lighter?

I believe the whole point of the Eonir buying our charcoal is that it's not magically contaminated, unlike most fuels they have available on a large scale.

Now! Update.

...I want to hug Eike. Fortunately, demonstrating to her that we legitimately value her contributions is probably a pretty good antidote to that particular bit of nastiness, and between having her implement her own solution to a real-world problem with minimal oversight and spending a significant amount of our time and attention on her, we seem to be doing a good job on that front.

I'd like to suggest something with Adela for our social actions. She's maybe the person most often (or at least most consistently) in our company and we've worked together wth her extremely well in the past, but it's been quite a whle since she got any real time on-screen.

Even if we don't go for a dedicated interaction with her, maybe we could bring her along for the Golds if we go for that? Given the prototypes she was testing, I get the feeling that that would be of interest to her.

Obvious solution is task her to go undercover at some kind of theater institution with a lot of public speaking and stage performances.

For "books the Elementalists might have", perhaps an improvement or extension to these:

Advanced Magic
Familiars +2 - Extensive Imperial

Magical Phenomena
Apparitions +5 - Extensive and Esoteric Imperial

Perhaps we already have the books on Apparitions that they would have given us, because there's crossover. But maybe they have some more stuff on Familiars.

If they had books on Manann too, maybe they might have some books on Ulric or the Ancient Widow too. Gods of frost and snow. Then again, that's not very water-y per se, so maybe not. Amusingly, perhaps they might have books on Khesar, the Nehekharan god of the desert winds.

Maybe they have books on Asuryan or on Phoenixes?

What category would Phoenixes fall under anyway? Elementals? Magical creatures? Magical creatures of Ulthuan? Or do they fall under the Fauna category? Or are they under divine Asuryan?
