Oh, I see what you mean. Kind of depends what you mean by sunset. I'd argue that the sun setting behind a mountain isn't any less a sunset than it setting behind the horizon, but there are sunset purists that would argue otherwise.

Ok, thanks.

So if Mathilde did turn that room into her wizard sanctuary, would we install a telescope for watching the rest of the Karak from our home?

Probably not. In medieval settings glass is expensive. Telescopes are horrifically expensive. Glass lenses are hard to make. Far more efficent to just upscale the magic lenses we can already make and use those. Although I suppose we could ask the Dwarves to make us one. Might not even cost us favour if we say it's to help protect the Karak.

I'd argue back but we're in the same boat as we were in the debate where my feelings are irrelevant because I'm outnumbered, outgunned and outshouted, so I'm going to leave it at that and just pray the update doesn't make me want to puke at my own weakness for failing to find the right rhetorical trick to flip the vote.
Ah yes, outnumbered and outgunned by five votes. How terrible that your opinion alone could not overrule the desires of all 125 dissenting voices in this thread, incarnate perfection that you are. Truly, the only flaw is that you could not convince the ignorant of your obvious rectitude.

Dude

Given this snide nonsense I'm starting to think Alectai is right.

Drop it.

Ok, thanks.

The Empire isn't really Medieval, more like 1600s.

Yeah, my posts are mainly for collecting Funny ratings now, it seems. Even when I don't mean them that way.

I really do think the lookout at the top of Karag Nar would make a great home for Mathilde.
The top of a mountain would be a great place to practice our Dwarven War Yodeling.

Salt is never over it only waits until the next time.
That's only if you don't properly offer it up to the salt gods for immense, schadenfreudic power.

Well the reason the dwarves went to war ultimate was actually caused by the High Elves though? The reason the war occurred is that they shaved the envoys beard off and basically massively insulted the Dwarves that were asking reasonable questions, yes the cause for the Envoy heading to Ulthaun wasn't because of the High Elves but that doesn't change the fact that the Elves deserved to get their teeth kicked in over it. Granted Malekith deserves it even more.

That's true, and I'm not sure how the Dwarves would handle it, but pointing out that they essentially insulted the Elves first (in a manner I'm pretty sure would lead to a Dwarf declaring a grudge) might mean something good happens with Dwarven/Elven relations. ALthough you'd have to convinvce them that the Druchii exist first. Although, even if you didn't succeed in getting them to make nice with the HE, they'd still declare a grudge against the DE. The grudge against Ulthuan for the incident was fulfilled at the resolution of the war.

Ehh, the Empire has a bit of tech/societal weirdness to it. It's somewhere between the Dark Ages, and Late Medieval, I would reckon.

The canon Empire is based on 30 Years War era HRE, with some divergences in both directions. IE knightly orders and steamtanks. We're a ways away from then though.

So it's both day and night, sunset and dark. Seems ulgu-inducing.

Rule 3 - Be Civil

He is literally disregarding the rights of all dissenting voters to have a different opinion from him. He has done this consistently and is now trying to make himself out be a marter oppressed by the overwhelming, hateful majority of this thread who lie, cheat, trick and connive to turn the vote against his rightful design. It's fucking absurd and deserves to be called for what it is.

Also the Dwarfs in at least total war warhammer and potentially in normal cannon have done things like tied goblins to boulders and launched them with a catapult.

The Greenskins hardly count as a normal species anyway given how the exist to kill stuff instead of just survive like most forms of life anyway.
Live Goblin ammunition is also in the 8th Dwarf Army book.

So yeah, this is fairly established canon.

I don't know your using the false neutrality defense right now.

You voted pretty darn early into this entire mess thus taking a side an inheriting the biases imprinted into human nature.

This understandable and naturally I have my own biases as well but it's really hard to call anyone but ironically the drive buys that votes everywhere but this specific arguement a 'third party' after all.

I do think Alectai is being a bit too general with thing myself, but he did say one or two when it came to the virtue signaling bit, which is quite frankly something I can agreement and actually called out in thread, though I must stress that is true as Alectai mentioned early on of only one two people.

yes, like all speak voters I am an idot fool fit only for contempt and pity, on this point there is consensus. Not sure why you felt that was worth retreading given the amount of elaboration it has already received.

but to address your other point, I did not claim to be neutral, I mentioned third parties, but I admired to what side I was one in the post. I merely pointed out that if your getting criticized for X, assuming that the propel doing it are hypocritical fools, rather than having a point bout X is not a great approach.

Rule 2 - Dehumanization is not acceptable
Welp, hope I was wrong. If I wasn't, I guess I'll make a smug post next update and move on with my life. If I was, I shall endeavour to take the inevitable smug posts from the victorious side with good humour. What else is there to do?

You should probably just move on then, since Greenskins being literally evil on a racial basis, and despised and slaughtered by the "good guys", is pretty basic by Warhammer standards.
No, see that's one thing, enjoying killing your enemy's or torturing them for a reasons or revenge is very Warhammer human. But seeing your pals get off on that stuff for the sake of it is the problem, it's not the things done to the Greenskins that is disturbing, it's the look on the Dwarves faces that should be the problem.

I think you mean "hilarious" and "should be left alone as the free entertainment it is."

Still gearing up for an "I told you so" on the vote, though.

that's a take for thrid parties criticizing your side. "your hypocrites! the other side has issues to! so they must be equally bad!" rather than, oh I don't know, taking a step back and looking to see if maybe there is a reason that one side is drawing more flack then the other.

but hey, i voted aginst your option, so I must be an idiot. so feel free to ignore me.
Are you saying that a section of voters here actually deserve to be punished in form of spite votes? Really?
What do you mean by that?

Even if that is true, that just means that they are a sentient people with a genetic mental disease. In which case even if exterminating them for the good of the world were the least bad option with any chance of success, torturing them in ways that are in no way reducing the damage they di is still wrong.
