Sooooo, what was her defeat trait again?
Immunity to Athel Loren and Awakened Forest attrition, and -5 Public Order in enemy territory.

So, we should be able to just waltz into Athel Loren after this, that is definitely how that will work. And our ability to terrorize our enemies (see: the invasion of Clan Mors' last redoubt during the retaking of Karak 8 Peaks) will reach new heights.

I mean, having a reputation for assassinating an intrigue lord would rather make Mathilde scarier, and the elves might be a bit more welcoming given Drycha's history with them. :V

Alright does Athel Lorne have anyone that can help with the Waystone project?
I mean, I'd bet good money on Ariel knowing quite a bit. Pretty sure she's the one who arranged some of Athel Loren's Waystones to form the barrier that contains the Wildwood.

Getting on her good side would be... difficult, to say the least. Being so associated with Dwarfs is less than helpful there.

That would be difficult and I am not saying it would be possible but helping the waystone network may be worth it to Ariel. I fully expect getting her on board to be a arc of its own taking multiple turns.

Athel Loren as a polity contains some of the oldest beings in the world, including an immortal demi goddess avatar of Isha herself
So probably yeah

The Spellsingers and Spellweavers magical traditions bind them in some way to the forest itself, making them part of its greater intelligence in a similar way to forest spirits
The Ancient Treemen are really damn old and fundamentally connected to the Weave
Ariel is the aforementioned avatar of Isha
Durthu's so old he makes Ariel look young, and much of the Asrai's understanding of magic and the Weave is built upon what Durthu taught them in the beginning
Naestra and Arahan are really weird and also the foremost explorers and experts of the Dreaming Wood
Daith is possibly also older than Ariel, and at the very least a contender for the greatest smith of among the Elves
The Oak of Ancients itself clearly has a funky relationship with the Winds of Magic

Athel Loren is practically a nexus of ancient mystical secrets and lore
It's also extremely inhospitable and unfriendly
And we currently have no real viable way of reaching out to them, since trying to just walk in asking for an audience is, if not suicide, then decidedly hazardous

Can not the elves we are currently scamming contact them. I figure there be some kind of embassy since they are two of the only elves polities not Druichi or beholden to the Phoenix king.

I don't see any kind of lasting concord with Athel Loren as at all feasible in the forseeable future, even if we succeed beyond our wildest imaginings here.

They're kind of really, really awful. We might get a short favour or two out of them if we impress to an unreasonable extent, but it would be on the same terms as the hypothetical shanking lesson we could have gotten from Eshin-friend.

Man, I still wish our luck had held that time, if only so we could see what sort of mental gymnastics Boney went through to justify it.

I think we lack enough information on Athel Loren to make any kind of guess in character. I would like to see how Boney would portray them since he has use cannon as a frame work but also tries to make it some what realistic.

The Eonir were barely in contact with the Empire that they were neighbors with. I don't imagine they have a ton of contacts with the other magical forest half a continent away.

They might have some, especially if the Stormwitch is indeed the same one that was a companion to Scarloc, but I still don't think it'd be easy.

The Eonir of Laurelorn and the Asrai of Athel Loren are two entirely seperate and distinct groups
They both started as Ulthuani colonies, but that's about it
They have no contact with one another that I am aware of
Presumably the World Roots connect the two forests, but the World Roots connect to a lot of places

Laurelorn's forest is a lot kinder and significantly less weird, and the Eonir are a whole lot less alien than the Asrai

[x] Spellcasters
Not leader cuz ulgu vs. ulgu is a good way to bumble around searching until someone important gets assassinated. Big Tree is facing Granny. Boris... Eh. This is what he's trained for. He's got a good chance. And 'saving' Kislev royalty when they're surrounded by Kreml guard and not actually in trouble yet is not a good look.

On the fourth hand, nobody else is in position to do anything about the spellcasters and they're about to reshape the battlefield.

[X] Leader

Ignoring Drycha sounds like ignoring Kragg on a battlefield. You can't beat her easily, so you let her be and target someone easier.

And then your whole army is smote.
