it's to bad that he doesn't share that opinion about humans or elf's or dwarfs or etc.

He is definitely the head of the 'get of my lawn hairless monkeys!' Faction.
He does that to people who annoy him like that asshole Cadavo. He has very good reason to dislike the people raiding his temples and disrespecting his society by stealing the plaques and artifacts of the Old Ones.

It is explicit in the book that Mazdamundi doesn't particularly care about humans until they get too close to sacred areas and start raiding the temples or disturbing the place. Sure he doesn't communicate much, but he gave two different warnings to Cadavo before he obliterated his entire town with a monumental earthquake.

Mazdamundi is context dependent, not an automatic "I hate all warmbloods" button. It's just he gets more moments like that because humans invade his area of Lustria most often.

I just had a thought.

Right now we are kind of bluffing the Elves when it comes to what knowledge the Dwarves and Humans have regarding Waystones. How would we continue that charade when doing the "lay the foundations" action? Or, for that matter, how would we prevent Hatalath from getting massively disillusioned and telling Marisith if we don't continue the charade. Because right now I don't trust Thorek to actually have some priceless knowledge ready to share nor am I a hundred percent sure that the Jade and Light Order insights together are enough to impress the Grey Lords in this matter.

In other words, I definitely think we should have a cards on the table talk with all the Human factions we manage to recruit before deciding to take the official "lay the foundations" action.

That would be part of the 'lay the foundations' action.

@Altom , @Codex , @TimEd , thank you for the suggested edits to Soizic, they should all be in now. I'm noodling around starting the wyrm bit next, but I was also thinking about writing some Panoramia again. She's in Altdorf studying for her magister exams right now, right? I hope we get to see her when we go recruiting. It would be good to have an insider who can explain subtext.

Does anybody know if Finubar ever got a statblock anywhere? I haven't been able to find anything about that.

I thought Zacharias didn't have a statblock until I read through Vampire Counts 6th Edition and saw he had one. It got me curious on if Finubar ever got stats. It just seems weird to me that the Phoenix King isn't playable.

Finubar never got anything. He's like the Council of 13, it's what he has Tyrion for.

Speaking of Vampires, lots of famous vampires never got stats. Like Abhorash, or any Strigoi ever.

Ok, given that we'd probably fly her to Altdorf, she probably still is in Eightpeaks.

...I really hope we get to talk to her. I want her in WEBMAT but I'm somewhat concerned about working in different places a lot.

Council of 13 are 12 characters, Finubar is one. In comparison to him, Karl Franz, Louen Leouncour, Katarin, Greasus Goldtooth, Thorgrim Grudgebearer, Malekith, Orion (and Ariel in older editions), and Settra all got statblocks.

It's easier to count the number of leaders of large factions without statblocks than those with.

You know something I've always found bizarre? Mazdamundi never got a model. He predates the Lizardmen as a faction and he never got a model.

I just found it very surprising when I found out.

By the way, during the process of reading 6th Edition Ogre Kingdoms, I came across something interesting.

I posted on this thread a while back the info that I got from an interview with Andy Hall about Cathay that revealed a bunch of interesting information. Lots of it was new lore, but some was repurposed old lore. What I didn't realise back then, was that something I thought was new was actually old lore.

Andy Hall said something about how people moving through the Warpstone Desert would erect heavy metal screens to protect their caravans from the radiation. Turns out, that is something that is explicitly mentioned in 6th Edition Ogre Kingdoms as something the Caravans would do. It's just that the Warpstone Desert used to be named the Baleful Desert back then.

I conjured up probably one of the more bizarre but fun statblocks yet, this time for Panoramia. Fair warning, I didn't think too hard about the balance, I wanted flavor and I think I provided it. I had a lot of fun making it, but don't take it too seriously, especially where the potion effects were placed. I realised as I finished the table that I was too lazy to swap around some of the positions (Stupidity should be above Frenzy because it's worse for example).

Troop Type: Infantry (Special Character)

Magic: Panoramia is not a Battle Wizard and does not know any Battle Magic spells, but she does have magical ability. She may channel Power and Dispel dice and counts as a Level 1 Wizard for dispelling purposes, but otherwise does not cast spells normally.

Special Rules:

Budding Alchemist: Panoramia's magic is more attuned towards tending to the fields, but that does not mean she doesn't have combat ability. Panoramia's ability with potions, medicines, poisons and antidotes grants any unit she joins Regeneration (5+), Poisoned Attacks and Immunity to Poison (Poisoned Attacks may never automatically wound) as long as she is part of that unit.

Potions Ahoy!: Panoramia is quite excited to show off her new concoctions in battle, and will grant them to her unit to empower them. At the start of each friendly Movement Phase, the controlling player may roll 2D6 and consult the following table for the effects:
2D6Result
2 Uh, Whoops?Panoramia messed up the concoction. All models in Panormia's unit become Flammable until the start of the next friendly turn.
3 Ahah! Wait, this shouldn't be so AHHHHHHHHThe intended stimulant is far more powerful than Panoramia expected. All models in the unit gain Frenzy until the start of the next friendly turn.
4 This should work fine! What do you mean it doesn't feel right? Give me that- uh wuh wuhThe potion Panoramia administers is effective at calming people's nerves. Too well in fact. All models in the unit become subject to Stupidity until the start of the next friendly turn.
5 Finally! Something good!Panoramia has found the right concoction to calm people's nerves. All models in the unit have +D3 leadership until the start of the next friendly turn. This may not exceed Ld 10 as normal.
6 Careful with this one! It'll make you go fast, but… It'll make you feel fast!Panoramia supplies a speed potion. All models in the unit have the Swiftstride special rule, but fail on dangerous terrain tests on a 1 or 2 instead of just 1. This effect lasts until the start of the next friendly turn.
7 This Black Lotus poison is very strong, but I don't have much of it.Panoramia upgrades the poison supplied to the unit. All of the unit's poisoned attacks automatically wound on a 5 or 6 on the Hit roll instead of just a 6.This lasts until the start of the next friendly turn.
8 If you're gonna be an idiot and rush into danger, the least I can do is make sure you don't die!Panoramia supplies stronger healing potions this turn. The unit has Regeneration (4+) until the start of the next friendly turn.
9 Um, sorry for this, but this potion has some… uncomfortable side effectsPanoramia supplies a powerful stimulant to the unit, although it causes much shifting in armor. All models in the unit are Stubborn until the start of the next friendly turn.
10 I think this potion will be strong! Hey, sometimes it's hard to predict its effects!Panoramia distributes a potion of dubious effect that she is very confident of. Roll a D6 to determine between WS, BS, S, T, I and A. This is the characteristic that will be boosted by +1 until the start of the next friendly turn.
11 Oh wow. This poison is much stronger than I thought.Panoramia offers a very strong poison. All models in the unit have the Killing Blow special rule until the start of the next friendly turn.
12 AHAH! My magnum opus!Panoramia's greatest potion. All models in the unit have the Unbreakable, Stubborn and Hatred special rules until the start of the next friendly turn.

Father of Thorns: Panoramia is exceptionally good at creating treacherous terrain. Any charging unit that successfully charges Panoramia's unit must make a Dangerous Terrain test. Failures are on a 1 or 2 rather than just a 1.

Show Off: Panoramia is very determined to not look like a fool in front of her girlfriend. If Panoramia is within 6" of Mathilde, then she can reroll one of the 2D6 for Potions Ahoy!

Equipment: Panoramia counts as wearing Light Armor (6+) thanks to her Aethyric Armor. She also has the Staff of Vigor and Mathilde's Lucky Charm, as well as the Potion of Empowerment. The Staff of Vigor counts as a hand weapon, and she has a bow given to her by her halfling friends.

Magic Items:
Staff of Vigor: This staff is an heirloom passed from mother to daughter since the dawn of time. Or so does Panoramia's mother tell her. The staff grants +1 Toughness and Wounds(added to profile) and allows Panoramia to adapt to her environment. All models in Panoramia's unit have Marsh, River and Forest Strider and can have rank bonus and count as steadfast even in those terrain pieces.

Mathilde's Lucky Charm: This coin is worn down with time and use, apparently having been flipped hundreds of times over the years to make decisions. Mathilde gave it to her before the battle, hoping that it would keep her safe. While sweet, it doesn't seem enchanted, but that's because Panoramia can't feel the presence of Mathilde's Oldest Friend watching over her.

Once per game, an attack that would kill Panoramia is nullified. The coin stops working afterwards.

Potion of Empowerment: Panoramia could only conjure up one batch of this potion after many weeks of failures and false starts. One use per game. At the start of the movement phase, after rolling for Potions Ahoy! Panoramia can drink from this potion. Panoramia regains any wounds she lost earlier in the game, and she gains +D3 to her WS, BS, S, T, I and A. Panoramia has to test at the start of each subsequent friendly movement phase to see if she retains the effects of the potion. She succeeds on a 4+, but the turn after that she has to succeed on a 5+, and after that on a 6+. If she ever rolls a 1, not only does she fail and lose the effects of the potion, but she takes an unsaved wound.
I wanted to make Panoramia a dork, but also make her effective at being one. That was my main goal.

I think regains should be retains here.

It's canonical that Jade Wizards wield sickles of different materials based on their rank. Copper for senior apprentice, Silver for Journeyman, and Gold for Magister. Panoramia has a Silver one:
The Jade Journeyman has the silver sickle of their rank on their belt, and their staff still bears leaves and cherries upon it, and if they stand still for too long their staff begins to put down roots and needs to be convinced to release its grip on the earth. And, to your surprise, she's heard of you.
I don't know much about Getafix aside from him being the inspiration for Panoramia's name and Boney making him a famous Alchemist from the order:
You manage to squeeze a few questions in directed back at her, and she gives her name as Panoramia, apparently named after one of the most skilled potion-makers of her order.
But his description from the wiki I'm reading seems to indicate that he carries around a gold sickle. I guess he was an inspiration for GW in regards to the Jade Order?

Getafix, Original
Article:
Getafix (or, in some translations, Magigamix, French: Panoramix) is the village druid. In appearance he is tall with a white beard, white robe, red cloak. He is usually seen in possession of a small golden sickle.

Getafix, like all druids uses a Golden Sickle, which is the essential druidic tool, with one story being about Asterix and Obelix trying to get a replacement sickle for Getafix after his one breaks.

A golden sickle, I think, comes from Julius Caesar's observations of the druids in Gaul ceremonially gathering mistletoe from oak trees.

So it's a harvesting tool, sanctified. A lot like the scythe of Morr, really, although I'm not sure where the image of death as a reaper actually comes from.

Yeah, the Black Death killed between a third and two thirds of the population, which is why it's an allusion to a farmer: The Grim Reaper just needs to come and take in the harvest.

The sickle thing is from Pliny I think. We don't have any first hand accounts, and Pliny does immediately jump to human sacrifice in the next sentence.
