Isn't heisting basically anything of importance from humans in brettonia asking for Ze Lady to tattle on you and eat a erranty crusade?

Long term goal is to cast down faithless Sigmar and take his place as the True God of the Empire, obviously. :V
Well, we don't have to take his place specifically. Just instate someone who actually tries to save the people who fight the good fight.

I may not have forgiven Ranald for his failure, but with some proper advisors I think he could do the trick just fine.

Oh I am all for that, we could probably use our Old contacts. Hell since they are using our old spy network we could contact Julia and basically insert ourselves as a free agent into the spy network or at the very least have someone who will call us to help out sometimes without her boss knowing.
I do believe that hoping the spy network will be able to call on us without Roswita finding out is a bit of a long shot. It is basically assuming incompetence on the part of third parties.

Of course, they don't have to call for us to come in and rescue their butts when needed.

So, just to prime you on a possible plan I had cooking to bring up in-game years from now (after all the mad research we'll be getting up to), are there any human nations on particularly poor terms with the Empire at the moment, that we could go and conduct a few elaborate heists on? Bretonnia has some magical loot, IIRC...

Bretonnia, Kislev and the Border Princes would be fine, Estalia and Tilea wouldn't hold up well to a prolonged visit, Araby is... fairly well fleshed out but is a little too close to some geopolitical hot topics for me to be entire comfortable with it. Ind, Cathay and Nippon are right out.

I'd personally be happy for Mathilde to work for King Belegar. I'm not that impressed by the Elector Counts personally, and think Mathilde can do better. For example, I'd like track down Asarnil in about four years and see if we can impress him enough to let us team up enter his service. We can be his adviser, given that he's a Prince.

The Coin would make us amazingly, impossibly, ludicrously good as Belegar's adviser.

Stirland seems like a massive step backwards at this point. It's a place that Mathilde has outgrown.
Adventuring with Asarnil sounds like a great opportunity to get in with the elves in general, and he'd already be able to help us with the theory of anything we're trying, and The Protector means that everybody will get to hear about our awesome exploits even though we did them in the middle of nowhere, which should do amazing things for our fame.

The real issue is getting him to treat us as a person rather than an adorable shadow puppy who owns a second, smaller adorable shadow puppy, but our magic score and existing fame should help with that.

Well at the very least having some info passed to us can't hurt, plus can you imagine Mathilde repeatedly showing up the Witch Hunters by already having taken care of the threat by the time they've arrived and while the Ranald the Protector part of the coin is active?

I feel like the time after the expedition might be a good opportunity to take on an apprentice. It would be a nice way to fill out sometime in between our other activities.

One day I'd like to show up with a dwarven army behind us, Asarnil flying above on Deathfang, casually wipe out a terrible enemy threatening the province, and then just leave again without ceremony.

It sounds like a waste of her time to do Witchunters jobs for them when they're fully capable of doing it themselves, and there are lots of things that a Witchunter couldn't hope to achieve, such as single handedly destabilizing entire skaven cities, that she can. Mathilde can personally act on a strategic scale. With her equipment she's now a big deal when it comes to unconventional warfare. She's very strongly specced for black ops now, and regular social Intrigue in a human society wastes most of that potential. She has a pretty amazing sideline as a magical researcher as well that complements that, which should mean that she can keep on getting better and better if she doesn't distract herself with relative trivialities.

What time?

[x] This wealth is the future of Karak Eight Peaks. Stay here with the Hoard.

we are psychically and magically exhausted, we are not combat effective. fortunately, there is something useful we can do while we rest.

Oh, also,
- The Deceiver: Lies you have developed beforehand will be delivered perfectly. The listener may believe you to be mistaken, but they will never believe that you are lying. Cannot be used to tell truths.

I wonder if we could use this to supernaturally tell a lie that's mostly true? like if we need someone to believe us about X, we tell them the truth with a slight change to the story so its technically a lie? I mean normally playing games like that with a gods blessing is a bad idea, but it seems on brand for our god.

Even not casting spells and with a fatigue penalty to fighting we can take on orks on their own because the belt and seed together means they die and we don't even if we lose.
Black orks are organised. Killing message runners makes a difference. Making our way to the main force, we will come across them.

Kazador is a massive Dwarf, and incredibly strong even by the extraordinary standards of Dwarf kings. He is said to have once lifted a fully-laden ore pony which had stumbled and become trapped in a crevasse. In his younger days he would cheerfully repeat the performance when challenged. It is said that he could (and frequently did) out drink all the Dwarfs in his kingdom. His younger days were full of feasting and fighting, bawdy songs and raucous humour, and, of course, battles. Lots of battles, so much so that eventually the Greenskin tribes have all but avoided the territory of King Kazador whenever they possibly can due to his legendary reputation as a skilled general and warrior.
Maybe we will get some competition on the Warboss Tally :V

@BoneyM some questions:
- Does Mathilde think there's significant worth into sitting down and compiling the army reports (are those still ongoing?), Abe's tips and tricks and her own experience into a Sylvanian Undertaker Handbook of sorts?
- Can we leverage the Waagh boost into a workout to get more S/T? I know it's a long shot, but the idea popped into my mind that she did just get a supernatural workout.
- What face is the coin currently on? As I read it, we can only switch the faces on normal turns, but it should be something now, right?
- Do we still get the Shrine's blessing, provided we set it up?
- Were the other shamans Bosses?

Right now I've switched from wanting to be Belegar's adviser to wanting to go back to Stirland and start hunting monsters. With the Coin we'd be able to farm Stirland Rep easily, and we'd be able to start trying to insert ourselves back into the Count's council and work towards being a Wizard Lord.

Being on a Count's council seems to be more of a Journeyman/Magister sort of job?

Wizard Lords are few and probably wouldn't work in a slot that an promising youngster can occupy. That doesn't mean there wouldn't be an advisor position appropriate for WL Mathilde... but it'd likely be higher up.

Amusingly, Kazador may be taller than Mathilde. I dimly remember that he's exceptionally tall for a dwarf.

Well, as they gave the job to a Journeyman, that rather suggests to me that it's a Journeyman level job.

As we just pulled off what's probably the greatest heist since Ranald's ascension, I would hope it started on the Night Prowler.

They gave the Stirland Advisor job to a new journeyman. One of Stirland's advantages was that standards were low, so that we wouldn't actually have to be that good at our job.

Yes, but that still suggests that it's seen as normal enough for a Journeyman to be a Count's Adviser that doing so wasn't a snub or an insult, even if it would usually be a more experienced Journeyman.

The reports, if compiled into a sort of Survey of Sylvania, could come in handy for all sorts of future studies and projects there. But she's not experienced enough a hunter of the undead to literally write the book on it, even cribbing from Abelhelm's notes.

She got supernaturally steamrollered. She should consider herself lucky she still has S/T.

Gambler.

- Do we still get the Shrine's blessing, provided we set it up?

No, it is overwritten by the Coin. It would still be polite to maintain a Shrine once you're stationary again.

Well, as they gave the job to a Journeyman, that rather suggests to me that it's a Journeyman level job.

Unique circumstances in a province with lower standards. The Electors are second in power only to the Emperor, and being one's advisor is a plum position for anyone short of Magister Patriarch/Matriarch.

That said, a Journeyman made an advisor will be scrabbling to do everything in their power to try to fulfill their duty, whereas a Wizard Lord in the same role would be more or less expected to be using the power of the position to dabble on the side on their own side projects. A project that's out in the open and completely benign to the Empire, mind.

I have virtually zero interest into scrabbling to get our old job back.

If the girl countess comes hat in hand, asking for us back, I'd probably consider it seriously, but I too feel like we've somewhat outgrown Stirland.

When we wrote down the Expedition as where we were going next, we filled that in as a "about five years into the future" sort of plan. I thought we could have done very well scouting the hell out of K8P like we did for the first two Karags, and massively assist in the low intensity warfare that's to follow the initial push.

Given the Coin, tho... It's just too good to pass up. We can leverage Belegar's forces so much it's not even funny.

I'd be comfortable spending a few years pounding the everloving shit out of goblins and Skaven here, massively skewing the odds, while we polish ourselves up to a new standard: finish the spell book, write down an academic paper or two (MAP, Undead Almanac), read The Book, get ourselves a rifle, enchant our guns, train up our WS/BS, etc.

Or the fame one, Kragg instinctually knowing it was us could be foreshadowing for that.

I would like to do it just because I think it would make Roswita mad. The coin starting out on the Protector would be nice for rep purposes

How often is that religious conference thing? Cause I'm pretty sure at this point we're the highest priest of Ranald, and us turning up would be all sorts of hilarious.
