Well sure but at that point the only way for them to die is to either go in with just their escort instead of joining up with their own army, or to lose the battle. Since the chances of a leader of that quality inserted in an elite unit dying in a battle that was won are minuscule.

Duels are a thing and I am pretty sure no Grail Knight would refuse one even when it is common sense to do so... hey look another way in which they are like Chaos Champions. Are we sure the four did not have a sister they teased too much at one point? :V

Grail Knights lose the Lady's Blessing if they flee or refuse a challenge, so yes they would rarely ever do either of those things.

Having a bodyguard only helps so much when the king is generally in front of the bodyguard.

Maybe he teleported his castle sooner than in canon. The Errantry War of the Badlands ended sooner than in Canon in DL, and the Third Skaven Civil War never happened in canon, so it's not like Boney is shy about changing things up. It's a mystery.
I think Boney said he loved Nyklaus, so maybe he'll stay in the story? I hope so anyway 🙂

You know I never have connected the second secret of Dhar to Tomb Kings. Mathiled can roll back Tomb King lands a lot just by her self can't she? Shit that is probably strongest argument for Necromancy like ever.

Unless Tomb Kings got a way to avoid it?

Tomb Kings don't use necromancy, it's an open question (one explicitly and deliberately left open by Boney) if it would work.

Using the Second Secret to reclaim land is an oxymoron, because the Dhar cooking off is going to poison it anyway.

The Second Secret is only a good idea when creating a vast cursed land is a better move than letting the enemy expand unchecked.

It can presumably heal given enough time- I don't think there's been anything said about a giant soiled patch of ground right next to Altdorf.

I have a question; Why have we not bought some silk sheets rather than waiting untill K8P figures it out? Lourelorn would have some would they not?

Yea me too. They shall release their strangling grasp from the throat of TTS (and similar) or I ain't spending another cent on them.

On a Unrelated note;
"Poetic, but calling them that gives them more credit than they're due. Economic Warfare against the Vampiric Bloodlines, maybe?"

"It does flow better." You frown over her shoulder as she jots it down. "Shouldn't 'against' have a capital?"

She frowns down at it. "I don't think so. It's like 'at' or 'by' or 'to', it just looks weird because it's a longer word."

"I suppose," you say, not quite convinced.

Mathilde was right here, from what I know if a word has 5 or more letters it gets capitalised no matter what.

Just something to note on.

I have never once in my life seen against capitalized barring the beginning of sentences. I would be most suprised if this was a thing.

I have a source;

Rule 3:

Always capitalize words of five or more letters, regardless of whether the word falls into one of the aforementioned five categories. This rule will help you avoid making errors when using conjunctions and prepositions in your titles. You see, many moons ago, writers did NOT capitalize any conjunctions or prepositions. However, today's standard practice is to capitalize conjunctions and prepositions of five or more letters.
...

DO Capitalize in a Title

About / Above / Across / After / Against / Along / Although / Among / Around / Because / Before / Behind / Below / Beneath / Beside / Between / During / Except / Inside / Outside / Since / Through / Toward / Under / Underneath / Unless / Until / Whenever / Where / Whereas / Wherever / While / Within / Without

Capitalization in Titles 101

Update, Nov. 19, 2025: We added a title capitalizer tool to the online editor. Very few people know which words should be capitalized in a title. In fact, the majority of people adopt rules from others who don’t know either. This usually takes on one of two forms: capitalizing every word, or...

two sources even;

How to implement title case

In title case, capitalize the following words in a title or heading:
  • words of four letters or more (e.g., "With," "Between," "From")
apastyle.apa.org

Title case capitalization

In title case, major words are capitalized, and most minor words are lowercase. Major words are nouns, verbs (including linking verbs), adjectives, adverbs, pronouns, and all words of four letters or more.

So suprise?

Standards obviously vary but e.g. APA style guidelines call for capitalizing any word of four letters or more. At the same time I would be far from shocked to learn of a ruleset whereby no preposition is ever capitalized regardless of length, though I didn't find one with a quick skim.

According to MLA:
Article:
A preposition that is not at the start or end of a title should be lowercased, no matter how many words compose it and no matter how long those words are. A few examples:

according to
as regards
concerning
except for
other than

Some other styles capitalize a preposition or a word that belongs to a preposition if it has five letters or more.

If John Irving's novel appeared in an essay or works-cited list published by the MLA, it would be styled The World according to Garp.

Does actually make me wonder at the style guides in the empire. I imagine the colleges have their own (Probably cribbed from the elves). Nuln would have their own her strange one built off of thousands of years of tradition. And then there are probably half a dozen 'scientific' societies who have their own standards.

Colleges probably have one cribbed from the elves yeah but I suspect most other academic institutions probably derive from Verenan standards.

But you're hoping that it will grow comfortable enough with you or curious enough about the topics to start to engage in further conversations, and you think there is a greater possibility of that if that could happen somewhere concealed and comfortable, instead of Cython being perched precariously on your balcony for all the world to see.
In hindsight, I wonder if this might have been Mathilde completely projecting her own fears/attitudes on Cython.
