RNGjesus played a little bit nice today, a lot of mid rolls, a number of high 70's and 80's and only a few 20/30's.

I know Hultressa cut us dry, but I hope things can be fixed. Gwen is still best baby elf.

Also what is Eldrya's situation? Is she seriously dead?
I hope Hultressa just thinks she is. She has little way of knowing what is going on in Alyssa's private sanctum, surely.

She finally lost control, she finally ran out of hole cards to make her problems go away.

Which means she's no longer able to immediately collapse the entire power of the Ark on a single target, or spend all of her time indulging in her whims while her assets keep a lid on things.

And to think, even with all this bullshit, all this has done is give us a chance to win, instead of us being in "OBJECTIVE: SURVIVE" mode.

Fucking Eldyra dying offscreen though, not cool T_T I hope it's just "I didn't have time to confirm it" talking here.

For real last message before sleep as I just realized something. Eldyra is not dead. Frederick section had mention she was present, less tortured than him, and alive, just without eyelids and traumatized silent. Hultressa was in 'blow up the base' mode, assumed her dead because she was retrieving Gwendolyn who said Eldyra stayed behind to hold them off.

She's not dead. I realized I didn't have anyone correct Hultressa on that in the update, I'll do it in the next one to make extra sure.

Strangely, tearing this place apart, tapestries aflame, shelves and chairs and benches shattered and splintered, blood and filth splattered everywhere?

It helps.

Natasha is indulging in her Barbarian Raider Queen fantasies.

"Forward, forward I say! In the name of the Lady of the Lake, forward!"

"May Isha forgive you, for I shall not!"

"DIE IN THE NAME OF KHAINE!"

"RHYAAAAAAAA!"

One of these is not like the others, lmao.

Then you lift your chin and look down on her despite her literal position being higher than yours.
(Goading: 58+Natasha Diplomacy(12)+Strain of Duty(10)+Noticeably Losing(15)+Mainlining True Dhar(10)+Druchii Arrogance(10)-Rational Thought(10)-Intelligent Sorceress(10)-Complex Management(10)=85/100)
"Ah, ah, ah!" You cannot help but laugh, waggling a finger as you have so many times as a mother to your children and grandchildren. "Naughty, naughty. What a gluttonous little girl you are. Your spite was bigger than your might."

Beautiful. Just, beautiful.

Once again, she has transformed herself. Whatever may have happened to her original wargear, the arms and armor that she carried with her from Athel Loren, are likely gone beyond any reasonable ability to get back.

Somebody leveled up! New Class!

"The High Priestess came out of a thousand-elf orgy as some sort of ritual to call upon Atharti's power and managed to repel her, as the story goes."

I... I'm speechless. Amazing. What a girlboss.

"When they came for my daughter, the Asur Eldyra of Tiranoc gave her life to help her escape,"

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ELF DAUGHTER!!! NOOOOOOO!!!!

edit: Just saw Torroar confirm Eldyra's still alive. I almost had a heart attack.

Clearly, the only thing we actually needed to get Hultressa to show herself is by capturing some nice enough digs. :V

I know torroar went out of his way to confirm Eldyra is alive, but it still hurts to read the statement from Hultressa saying she's dead. Just motivates me more to see her get out of this alive.

I just saw the Eldyra is alive confirmation too. I'm glad she is. As my reaction was gonna be.... Nooooooo!

Then comes the choice later, I wanna hit an arena! But gotta read the other choices again.

[] Plan: Cautious
-[] Keep Kerillian Close: The potential fractious damage that bringing in any more Druchii than you've got to the warband which is primarily made up of the freed could be considerable. Too much to countenance if you wish to command effectively and without major issue. In another time, another place, simply following Khaine might be enough to unify elves aplenty, but this is not then. Besides, you'll want Kerillian to help you kill other Druchii in your way tomorrow.
-[]Arenas
--[] The Crimson Thorn: House Direblaze was first to swear to Alyssa, so this would be yet another blow to the power her crumbled faction possesses and could potentially call upon. There may be gladiators here to free as well. Also monstrous beasts that you might be able to unleash to cause rampages and damage, if Hultressa can somewhat command the damn things with Ghur and the like, as well as the strange and mysterious Lizardmen. Whether or not they would be a help or hinderance is unknown at this time.
-[] The People
--[] The Noble Asur: There are more Asur scattered around the Black Ark. For psychologically damaging reasons, the Druchii were happy to inform the Asur of how many of their fellows were enslaved, and where, and what was regularly being done to them. Some were captured in the ill-fated expedition led by Eldyra, others are older than that. The Asur with Sadrina have spoken up. If this really is the last chance, then some effort should be put in, they claim, to try and raid those remaining noble estates that would have them. With the Druchii falling upon themselves across the whole Ark, there will never be a better chance and the Druchii in a weaker position.

Cautious plan, do not go nabbing druchii, free asur, and only hit one arena

[] Plan Much to do

-[]Arenas
--[] The Ring of Gore: Owned by House Spitethorn, and known for its numerous gladiators and combats involving great numbers. How many gladiators remain after all this time, whether taken away for sacrifice to Chaos or otherwise by other Cults of the Cytharai, lost in infighting? You don't know. But some must, and some must be willing to take up the fight for freedom and vengeance. However many you get, you'll also be killing the Druchii controlling the place. Thankfully, given current events, it's not like they'll be getting help from anyone.

SImple plan, hit all the arenas, and seek the asur.

[] Plan: Ambition
-[] Send Kerillian Out: It is undeniable that elven expertise and experience could outweigh what a freedman could accomplish much of the time. Perhaps it is time to see what can be gathered to your side in that course. Through murder and destruction and warmaking, all things are permitted so long as Khaine's divine will remains supreme, or so you've heard said repeatedly. If that includes fighting alongside freedmen to attack one who blasphemed against the Bloody Handed God, perhaps that means some might join up.

-[] The People
--[] Courage to Cowards: the Claw of Dominion are terrified, but many of them are so inured to their state of being that to imagine doing otherwise is immensely difficult for them. With the Druchii so terribly distracted with each other, this is the last chance you'll get, that any of your warband will get, to convince them to do otherwise. Make the effort, even if it draws the attention of some Druchii who's outrage at freed slaves might make them an issue to be dealt with. Give them one last chance to die free.

Hmmm, this one aims to try and nab everyone we possbly can that could benefit us. The Ring of Gore has likely been emptied out of good fighters, so a little less than worthless to go after it from strategic standpoint. But it could have extremely skilled fighters that are needed, and if nothing else would have in general skilled fighters. Might be too ambitious though, on the other hand, if successful... Likely a bad plan as it has send Kerillian out to nab druchii, and there's a specific qm warning about druchii having issues about freed slaves, which the courage to cowards one is definitely.

[] Plan: Less Ambition

It looks like the only arena with actual goodies left is The Crimson Thorn. Not only do we hit Alyssa's powerbase, but it likely has the more intact hero units, and fighters. With the other arena likely heavily depleted. Keep Kerillian around, because this plan involves freeing more slaves, or trying to free them at least. This plan can work in my mind, it's not too ambitious to hit one arena, and all the people in my mind. If it works, we get more fighters, a possible hero unit, and some asur.

[] Keep Kerillian Close
I want Kerillian to be at least vaguely capable of not going irredeemably Khainite Cult Leader by the end of this, and this is a good vote to draw her back.

[]Arenas.
-[] The Crimson Thorn
[] The People
-[] The Noble Asur

I want the Crimson Thorn because with Hultressa here the beasts become a better option, and the Lizardmen will be useful either independently or alongside us. Doubly so if we have to go to Norsca anyway and they can help connect with the Norscan Lizardmen/Dwarves/Slann-worshippers.

I want the High Elves because I flipped a coin between them and the random freedmen.
...so Elydra confirmed ded?
No, she's with Freddy in the lab.

HAHAHAHAHA! I love everything about this and more!

Thank you @torroar for the wonderful emotional pick me up!

Not even a dark elf is immune to Freddy's shonen charm! Hahaha!
Also what is Eldrya's situation? Is she seriously dead?

Not dead, no, just had her eyelids cut off and forced to watch Freddy be tortured. On the plus side, his continued resistance has made Alyssa ignore harming her anymore, and hopefully also means her morale is still intact with Freddy openly staying sane.

Still will likely needs lots of support after this, but that is something Freddy, her teacher, and the Everqueen can certainly provide.

Even more so if we free more of her captured friends she rallied earlier.

As for vote, I think we should focus on arena with monsters and elites for most potential damages, and freeing elves since they are most likely the ones who can fight most effectively quickly, especially the recently captured from Eldrya's force.

Bonus points is to hopefully help her out mentally seeing so many of her comrades saved when we rescue her.

Technically this was written across the course of yesterday and today, straight up to midnight and some change. I wasn't able to write crap the day I closed the vote for IRL reasons I'm sure can be guessed at. Unfortunately, for better or worse, I'm capable of substantial manic output and at other times suffer from depressive writer's block and lack of muse or energy. So apologies on any weird errors that might have crept in here and there given the length and all that. Imagine if I could write this much into broken up chapters for a fanfiction or something, that'd be a neat buffer or something, for consistent production and engagement. Just...gotta actually write em first. Only so much energy though, and time. Still, it is what it is. Night everyone and thank you for the kind messages on Patreon from my Patrons and for being Patrons as well in general.
Holy shit you did that in forty-eight hours!?

Fuckin'... just... wow.

@Blazblade

Would you please stop complaining? I like to think you're cognizant enough to be aware how overdone and aggravating this has been.

It does not speed things up. It just annoys and/or upsets people.

Magnificent, I don't have much else to say. May Alyssa cope and seethe evermore. Vote aside, one thing I'm looking forward to is Gwen's reaction to Kerillian and her adopted witch daughters somehow redeemed witch elves trainees.

I suspect she's not entirely unaware given they were not surprised at Kerillian's new weapon.
And in a way, this is a good thing since it means they have a Chosen of Khaine on their side and whom isn't gonna force Gwen into anything thanks to woof elf version of worship to him.

Khaine also has vestes interest in keeping Gwen safe an alive for the chance she might grow into a powerful Chosen one day, so for now on same side.

Kerillian is doing a good job at directing Khaine's power, and shows how the wood elves balance the dark with the light seems pretty effective.

No doubt Kerillain will use weapon to good use against Beast Tide later to.

I suspect she's not entirely unaware given they were not surprised at Kerillian's new weapon.

I agree on that but what I had in mind was more of a conversation and learning about wood elf way of following gods. I don't think Gwen or Hultressa ever considered what Kerillian has currently going on as a viable path. So far, they seem to clean/purify her with everqueen's help. It's just interesting an alternative wood elf path to that. Balancing Khaine with help from other gods.

That one Handmaiden Kerillian line from game can be somehow applicable too. "All is as it should be. Hekarti grants me the power, Atharti the will to see it used. Isha's memory binds me to the Weave and Lileath's love to the Light. And the Morai-Heg keeps the balance."

Regardless, it's still too early say anything for certain. But it's nice that Gwen has more doable paths for her now with proof.
