thing to do once we get back to Ostland

1 - send out a general alert to every noble , mayor , village elder in the province informing them of the coming attack , instructing them to raise the militia ,recruit more men at arms ,hire mercenaries , fill the larders , stockpile the armories and prepare to host refugees from the coast and Nordland until the the threat passes

2 - while 1 is taking place deploy the main army of Ostland along with all 50k mercs we have on payroll to the coast to oversee evacuation to the interior

3- send our ships to help Nordland evacuate their island capital city since its arguably the easiest and most tempting target

Hrm. Bit of a shame. I think Magnus could potentially do a lot for Ostland's, and the Trident's as a whole in general, inter-Imperial political prospects by going down south and fighting alongside the rest of the Electors and heirs and Dwarf Kings.

It's not just about sending forces to aid the Karaz Ankor, something that people have argued and pointed out that "Look, the Empire is sending a buttload of forces already!" It's also about grasping an opportunity; namely, the chance to build bonds with the southern parts of the Empire by fighting an ancient threat alongside ancient allies.

It could mean that the next time we meet in an Electors' Meet, or the next time the Empire has a problem, or the next time the Empire has an opportunity and good news, we'll have Talabecland and Middenland looking at us with respect and not just respect-and-also-competitiveness-and/or-rivalry-and/or-bitterness-or-grudges-and-etc. A chance to tip things for the future, basically.

If Magnus can make his name alongside the other Electors and Heirs, then when he succeeds us, it might result in a change in Imperial politics for the better; less rivalry between Frederick and Gunthar, less bitterness between Frederick and Fuerbach (and his sons). And since Magnus is also close to the heirs of Nordland and Ostermark, that would mean that all of the Empire's provinces would have decent inroads and connections and friendships between each other.

I think I've managed the final edit on the list post, now that I'm back home and hydrated:

3 Celestial Hurricanum [Celestial College Battle Altar]
2 Luminarks of Hysh [Light College Battle Altar]
1 Amethyst Mortisiary [Amethyst College Battle Altar]
1 Golden Metallus Altar [Gold College Battle Altar]
1 Arbus Vitaerus of Ghyran [Jade College Battle Altar]
2 Ignusarum of Aqshy [Bright College Battle Altar]

*for the record, the Amber and Grey Colleges decided not to stick the Orbs of Sorcery that Teclis gave them into Battle Altars. They're being used for other stuff.

I doubt Magnus is going to be eager to be buddy buddy with the southern leaders when his homeland and family are under active threat to be destroyed.

Mayhaps there is a zealot, a poor, mind-broken thing with only sparse bursts of independence, that battles in the Deeps of Karaz-a-Karak, and in the deeps of her own soul and mind.
Good to see that she is still alive. I bet she hates rats more than bears now. I hope that she is able to break the brainwashing before the GT can reinforce that again, but knowing Warhammer she might only break it in her dying moments.

Also, there is a part of me that wants someone from the Empire to steal some golden bricks and just throw them at either the Druchi or Greenskins.

... we just need to figure out an alcohol or alcohol by-product mixture that explodes... violently and consistently.

Alcohol fuel air bombs when?

So basically, RE: Empire trying to get to Karaz-a-Karak and help out, the intention is to AVOID this:

If that happens, the only option I see is to withdraw to keep from getting surrounded while trying to draw off some of the Waagh and praying that you're faster.

No, but friends will understand why you don't chop off your limbs for them when you really need them to defend yourself from the people who want to burn you alive, particularly when your other friends are coming to help them, yeah?
While that may be true, I don't find "well we helped them in the past so they owe us" a particularly sympathetic viewpoint especially since they are sending help while on fire.

We are very specifically asking for help that will not be able to meaningfully assist in their own defense as the Orks are not using ships and only that.

Yeah not like we didn't do something worthy of the aid sent us already.

Kay? And?

All im saying is that it's still is kinda shit that we can't help them out in their time if need when some of them helped us before. Makes us seem like not very good friends if all were sending is well wishes.

kinda a waste tbh not to send magnus when his buffs help out the most with the orcs.

Is the Flame altar that was created during the battle of the Fane going?

Admittedly, it is a damn real shame we're about to miss seeing the legendary warboss that managed to have the tactical acumen, patience and brawn to create a waagh like this. All the news we got, how the underboss which are already badass themselves, the insane fights (That he wasn't even involved in) that managed to tore Eight Peaks that daemon starts spawning due to sheer amount of blood spilled, is now making his move and we're not able to go.

Like, god damn, I really wanted to see him in action. Hopefully we get an interlude or something cause this feels like a nut punch.

It took me the better part of 15 minutes but I found live pictures of the situation!

Here.

Yea that was a dumbass move. Only reason they won is cause of plot. Those gates would've made an excellent chokepoint. Really, the only chokepoint. Heaven knows how many units I've killed in total war thanks to gates funneling my enemies.

I understand that context but it isn't entirely risk free as orcs cand and do change their mind on a whim and if those ships are several oceans away it's bad news bears for Barak Varr. At the beginning of Karak Ungor, a force of greenskins roughly the size of the KU expedition just sorta showed up and attacked.

Can anyone remind me what this is about? The Grand Theogonist brainwashed someone? wut?

Regina Leitdorf, one of Magnus's options for a bride and a friend of Evangeline Hertwig. The GT has been trying out new techniques on particularly zealous individuals to break their identity and spirit so that they serve with all the zeal they previously did, just now completely and utterly subservient and loyal to the Grand Theogenist and the Cult of Sigmar.
