[X] DD on Tutoring The Herd

I do not want to fail this action above all others. A good opportunity to give Wolfila and Karola a martial related trait.

I intended to abstain, but, just for the sake of it, I think I'll follow in after Marlin

[X] DD on Tutoring The Herd

[X] DD on Tutoring The Herd

It was either this or on Rutger. Beast man attack last can be deadly, but we have no IC reason to push extra hard when other options are on the table that are just as important

Rutger deals with transportation, and we're up the creak when it comes to water travel right now. Doing this right means not sucker punching our already damaged trade while hurting the other two members simultaneously. On the other hand, nobody is voting for that, so another thing equally important should be done.

Tutoring the herd means shaping the future and cutting off problems at the knees. Like say Karola's refusal to fight. That's not something Magnus is going to be able to sort out on his own. Or getting IC knowledge of Ori's psychology so we can start imparting ethnics. Or or getting more details about the children.

We're better be getting the Ogre archers next turn.
I certainly want them, so you got supporter there.

If nothing else I love the image of over a hundred spear-sized arrows flying through the air to fuck up anything's day, in addition to a bunch of cannonballs of course. :D

I personally hope that Wolfila is revealed to be a savant if not a genius through some tutoring, prove to rest of his family that he doesn't need constant babysitting all the time..

Beast man attack last can be deadly, but we have no IC reason to push extra hard when other options are on the table that are just as important

It has a default 50% of failure, and failure means unnecessary loss of life for the soldiers, and the persistence of known beastman herds in Ostland. I think that's enough reason IC to justify it, no other choice has such an obvious or immediate consequence for failure.

Idk why DD for tutoring the herd didnt occur to me at all though, thats another option i like a lot that i definitely want to pursue sooner rather than later.

Okay so I've gone looking, and I've found a few cases where Special Decisions, i.e. additional categories added for certain occasions, got DD applied, but I can't seem to find a DD for Personal Actions. I've been searching Personal Actions, Double Down posts by me, can't seem to find an example of a PA getting DD. So...looks like that's not a thing? If someone else finds different let me know because I'm pretty tired and maybe just missed it. Wouldn't be the first time.
This was from 2018, not sure if there's a more recent statement that says differently, but assuming this still holds, then no DD on tutoring.

I just checked, and Wolf has the same amount of base stat points as Freddie does, even with his limitations. He's going to be fine.
He won't be as badass a warrior as his father or grandfather, but he doesn't have to be. He can find a place in life just fine. The Elector Counts are basically royalty in their province, he'll get the best education and care possible in the Empire, especially since his parents and grandparents very much care about the wellbeing of their children.

Pure base stats aren't the be-all, end-all. Not by any means.

I think it would be overly optimistic to think that Wolfila won't be struggling for most of his life.

I mean, it's explicitly focused on combat abilities and martial tutoring. I wouldn't be overly surprised if Frederick determined that interfering with them as far as their characters would be overstepping his bounds or something like that.

Again guys- unless anyone can find me a statement of Torroar saying otherwise, we can't DD personal actions. Which Tutoring the Herd would be.

I feel like I relaxed that rule later on, specifically for actions that involved money that could reasonably in context be utilized. For instance, studying/creating the barrel thrower, that sort of thing.

Because that is, essentially, what DD is. The application of more money to increase the resources at hand, whether in materials or bodies. Does that make sense?
