Depending on when Solland was annexed, Ludenhof may not have been entirely wrong to post border guards and wanting us to stay out.

"Defending the people" may have been Wissenland's excuse.

And from certain posts, we're proving him right.

Yeah, it could be done if we absolutely tanked most of our relationships in a cynical and OOC-bid for power in the hopes that the extra land would be worth nobody liking us anymore.

Hochland isn't beyond saving, stop talking like it is people. If Nordland can recover, they certainly can.

Though honestly, I think Nordland was in a better position. It had a battle-tested leader that everyone, both inside and outside of Nordland respected or soon came to respect. It had the aid and friendship of Freddy, and the wars that nearly destroyed it had incidentally cleared it of Greenskins and Beast-whatsits, so honestly despite nearly dying, Nordland wound up in a pretty alright position.

How about this: if Hochland actually asks for our help after this point we give it. Until then, leave them alone as we have more important things to focus on.

The Waagh rolling through, then us clearing the stragglers will have cleared a ton of threats there, so that's something.

Agreed.

Yeah no, we have no where near the political capital to pull that off.

We might...

But the costs vs the rewards would most likely not be worth it for 4-5 generations.

So I agree with you. I'd rather they rebuild and we demonstrate through action that the Frederick Hohenzollern was and is more honourable than Victor Ludenhof. As long as we're not deliberately trying to screw them over and their populace loves us the next generations of Ludenhofs should gradually become less hostile...

Not interfering strengthens the legitimacy of the Elector count position and helps imperial solidarity by setting an example of not interfering anyway, much better for us.

Though we should stay open for trade deals that aren't screwing us over.

Yeah, I don't think Freddy is going to IC try and annex Hochland; it in no way fits his character. Nor do we at this time have troops to hold Hochland as we're marching on Nuln.

I agree with helping if Hochland asks for help we give it to them; until then it's none of our business. Of course, we're not giving the asshole the mines on our land back so we at least gained something from the whole mess AFTER they're cleaned up.

I agree, but I also think we need to talk to Hochlanders. Because if we were waiting for Victor to ask for help, we still wouldn't have done anything. So let's get to know Hochlanders and listen when *they* are asking for help.

Trouble is that we've got very limited amount of actions.
One, single, diplomacy action, and we promised Natasha we'd help Kislev some more.

You're like all expecting the situation in Hochland resolves itself somehow magically. If we do nothing we can expect an internecine civil war right on the other side of the river.
Which gives us the perfect opportunity to intervene anyway.

There is a huge difference between Hochland and Norland after all. Nordland did have a legitimate leader who had the respect of his people and wasn't the traditional enemy of our family. Hochland has a leader who's lost legitimacy with his people, is dying and has no secure heir.

Getting some trade relations would help with that.

It might be a personal action considering that Natasha has connections in Kislev and we want to help out the family.

And we've got ZERO business interfering in that unless someone asks for help.

Yeah we cleared out the Greenskins so now it is up to the people to decide the future themselves.

Also since the Mountains are cleared once we take them over the Dwarves have a nice location to set up their own Holds free of enemies.
