Not much we can do there. Though best to keep an eye on what's happening as the situation seems like a good breeding ground for Chaos.
Yep.
Hooray for that useless piece of shit family.
I personally hope they all die so someone else can take over who WOULDN'T suck.

Don't think she cares enough for that to work.
Which is the damned thing about this all.
She seems content to sit on her ass doing sweet fuck-all.
I'm sure Ortrud would slap her, or Stefan would spit on her for how she's acting.
Johanna would also be disgusted, since she at least cares about other people (she's readily proven that when she came along with a whole host and her anger at what was done to loyal Nordlanders).

Guys. Guys I linked to it a few posts ago. Look up.

In any case, it ain't natural to Warhammer Fantasy's world, so trying to fit it into the spectrum is a doomed-to-failure project.

We dont know what it is, for all we know its a psychic meteor that reacts to the Ogres worship and became a God. A self fulfilling prophecy as it were.

Huh. From the wiki, I think that the Ogres lost a ton of people to a major meteor impact in the mountains, and then started worshipping the thing that did it, leading to the Maw coming to exist thanks to Ogre stupidity.

Nifty.

The eternal hunger of all the organic life in the world?
Hm, hunger...
Wouldn't that sorta go with Tzeentch (man I hope I get to eat soon) and Slaanesh (man I want to eat so badly)?

Ambition would fall under Tzeentch (you hope to accomplish something).
And in all honesty most Ogres aren't really ambitious - they are happy sitting on their asses and eating well (it takes Greasus, their Mythic guy, to change that into accepting gold as equally valuable as food)

Maybe it's just a psychic alien thing.
It DOES grant spells (Lore of the Great Maw), so it has to be more than that.

I thought it had a physical form?
It does.
That's part of what makes it so fucking scary.
The Chaos Gods?
They can't touch the material world without expending a shitload of effort.

Sorry, just having some fun speculating.

This maw that the orges worship, is it a minor chaos god and what is it all about?

It's a planetary parasite that has bored through the entire planet, straight through the core, and out the other side. On the other side of the Mountains of Mourn, it's a massive massive ring of endless hunger and massive fangs, while the other side of the planet has a massive whirlpool swirling around from where it's opened up on the sea bed.

Yep.

Which was pretty much our family before they all got killed off. The only reason you think that they're all dicks is because you're looking at this from the perception of an outsider with no inherent connection to Freddy or his family beyond this quest. Trust me, you'd probably be thinking the same thing of Freddy's family had we been running this quest from Hochland instead of Ostland.

An estranged scion who has different religious beliefs, isn't like the rest of the family, and yet still protects the people?

Psssshhh nawwww

Guys, stop being stupid.

Ludnedorfs daughter HAS been doing things and helping out, she has been fighting off warbands and brigands and such. Just because she doesnt want to rule doesnt make her useless, or stupid, or selfish.

The people?
She has mentioned she didn't want to handle the place, that isn't protecting them, it's protecting a tiny little slice.

Freddy at least assumed responsibility and is leading his people.

You mean Freddy is looking down on someone who holds beliefs and mindsets he considers simple, primitive, and stupid? You mean he is biased?

Say it aint so! Freddy has prejudices!

Dont look at this from Freddys ignorant, narrow, perspective.

No, no she's been protecting all of southern Hochland, like what the rumors said. As in the most damaged part from Gorebash's rampage.

She knows she wouldn't be able to lead the people. She's self-aware enough for that.

Except for the part where despite disliking "The People" and calling them grubbies she fights off warbands and brigands to protect them. She's apathetic about that, and contemptuous it seems of people who aren't stick in the ass nature-lovers, but that just makes her a human wood-elf of the old style: hates everyone but still helps out now and then.

Just because she happens to not like Hochlanders, doesnt mean she doesnt empathize with them or wish ill upon them.

Ludendorf himself is a selfish, arrogant, crazy asshole, and I am sure Freddy would like nothing more then to take a club and beat some sense into his thick head. Heck, if offered I bet Freddy would get into a fist fight with the man, any time, any place, even in front of the Emperor.

But do you think Freddy would say no to helping him out if he asked for it?
