Wow... The Enterprise really did have some crazy rolls second time around.

If they'd inflicted the same crew losses on us (never mind the repair costs or losing the ship Enterprise completely) the thread would be up in arms.

I suspect some Cardassian analysts are about to get sent to Siberia and they'll be trying to scan the ever loving wosname out of the Enterprise to figure out why it consistently beats them.

I can't believe it! You really did use the time distortion idea!

In other news, when strange things happened around the Miracht, I thought the Ambassador was just... out of phase, like a ghost, but not dead. Sounded like a familiar plot for some reason.

At least the Miracht's captain managed to do some good this time.

Imagine the Cardassian disbelief to how the Enterprise basically pulled of what would appear to be a flawless ambush on them.

Implying we have insane sensors.

How the fuck did Nash get stuck in a time loop?! Assuming no interference by Q, that is...

OMG.

We just wiped out one of their battlecruisers and beat down a Karnak while only taking 2 points of shield damage. *whistles* Oh to be a fly on the wall for that debriefing.

Also, @OneirosTheWriter, can we choose to develop cloaking tech? I mean, we've had multiple examples to work with (the Suliban Cloak front ENT, the Improved Romulan Cloak from TOS) so we wouldn't be starting from scratch.

Oh hey!

Betazoids

We're gonna see Betazoids becoming full members soon.

I cannot believe we got actual plot shields occuring here.
Well, if it was any other ship than the Enterprise... wow. This update just wow.

I'm thinking that seeing as how the Enterprise managed to nearly-flawlessly deal with two ships and (out gunned and ambushed) on their PoV they must be rating our ship class much higher. Maybe this demonstration of force and skill might get them to try and open up communications...?

Also assuming we want to start the Ambassador project in the snake pit after the next one, then we want to have completed the following..

Early 24th Century Shipboard Computing
All manner of computer technologies come under this banner.

22 / 30 Targeting Computer II (2% weapon weight reduction)
22 / 30 Ship Main Computer Core II (1% Science weight/power savings)
27 / 30 Ship Operating System II (1% warp core power improvement)

This actually does make a fairly decent difference alongside the other tech which would finish by then.

I want starship construction levels and the next level of warp core power generation before we start.

I am abso-fucking-lutely looking forward to writing this up.

Poor Nash getting stuck in a conscious Bozeman loop for who knows how long.

Also, those fucking Cardassians must be just ready to fucking give up now. One of our "Explorer" ships wrecked more than her weight in pure warship.

More than that they executed what should have been a perfect ambush and only scratched our shields

Cardassians now believe excelsior class vessels to be combat 11+ no doubt... :p
I'm thinking on how they'd react to this.

They lost BattleCruiser+Cruiser 2v1 against our Excelsior in an ambush attempt.

I'm going to have to assume now that their future plans probably are based around 4v1-ing our Excelsiors or avoiding combat with them. So we should hopefully warn our men that any aggressive Cardassian actions most likely have an overwhelming force with them.

So while this is really good, this might spook them into full on Shadow-Ops and/or traveling around in large 'war groups' on the boarder. Which will just increase tensions more on our side.

If we're lucky this might make them instead open formal communications with us after seeing the Enterprise at work, and assuming the rest of our Excelsior class vehicles are around as good.

Maybe we should try and force formal contact now on the heels of this event...?

Good lord we really did luck out.
Yea we did, now let us see if our captured vessels will provide us in terms of research, and pp. Actually, I wonder if we could donate some of our resources that we aren't using to member worlds in exchange for pp.
Yeah instead of being down an excelsior they are down a battle cruiser and have a ship that needs to be repired
Repaired? That implies that we allow them to recover their vessel. They commited a hostile action against our forces. I see no reason for us not to keep them.

QM said that Enterprise was destroyed, then QM lost his battle log IRL and on remaking it Enterprise was extremely lucky.
So, even 4th wall didn't stop Enterprise from Enterprising.
Like seriously, reality itself has given fictional Nash plot shields.

Like if I tried to write a story where I shot Nash with a pistol I'm pretty sure my computer would keep bricking until I instead wrote 'Nash kicked my ass and stole my girlfriend.'

I must admit, if I must leave my mapping mission behind once more, I am relieved that it will be to travel to a place with equally interesting surroundings.
Straak has 0 fucks to give :V

Personal Log, Captain Michel Thuir, Stardate 22793.2

Am I actually cut out for being an Explorer Corps captain? None of these disasters happened when I was on the Challorn...
I feel so bad for this guy, but I really like him as a captain. Not his fault Nash hoards all the good luck.

And Betazoids are fucking insane. "These guys ran an experiment that turned me into a ghost! It was awesome! We should join asap!"

And of course That was amazing:D

[Gul Parad] I will not surrender this ship. Destroy us if you will, but I will never bend the knee.

[Capt ka'Sharren] I have no intention of asking for your surrender. Your ship will survive until rescue. This is just a message.

[Gul Parad] Then speak.

[Capt ka'Sharren] You attempted treachery today. But from now until the end of time, you, and Cardassia, will remember the name, Enterprise.
'Cus they're already gone, is why.

In addition to weakening the Cardassian fleet and giving them misleading info about the power of our ships, we also managed to gather some intel ourselves.

Lorgot class battlecruisers are apparently not as bad as we feared. Combat is slightly higher than our Excelsiors, but shields are neither better nor worse, and their Hull rating is somehow even lower than a Jaldun's. They probably skimped on armor and superstructure to accommodate all those guns, even in its large frame. Kind of a glass cannon ship.

Anything that bypasses shields - even slightly - is going to be doubly effective against a Lorgot. Any research that increases our burnthrough chance should be prioritized. If there happens to be some tech-of-the-week or spacial phenomenon at hand that neutralizes shields, using it in a battle that includes Lorgots will probably tip the balance in our favor.

EDIT: actually, looking back at the logs the Lorgot was also able to sneak up on the Enterprise somehow, which could mean some kind of stealth ability. That makes it a bit more dangerous, but all of the above still applies.
