Okay, I don't quite understand what's happening here. Our current Academy output is 5.45 + 6.45 + 6.05 = 17.95
Some of the new options are less than that.
5.95 + 5.95 + 5.55 = 17.45
4.95 + 7.45 + 5.55 = 17.95
4.95 + 5.95 + 6.55 = 17.45
????
What I woukld like to do is:

Hmm, if we want to keep building Excelsiors, we need a good number of Officers, so I don't like the idea of shifting people away from O.
At the moment, the only ship class that uses a lot of enlisted personnel is the Constellation, and I don't think we will want to build more of those.
The question is what do we want to build next. Of course we will continue to build Excelsiors, but how soon will we begin to build Renaissance class ships, who would take a lot of Enlisted? Or do we want to build Centaurs or even Oberths, who need more Techs?

I do. I would like to get up to around ten refitted Constellations, which would make for a nice home garrison fleet.
I guarantee we will build more Centaurs and Oberths before we build our first Renaissance.

I agree, we could definitely use some more Centaurs, even if only to start replacing the Soyuz and Mirandas.
Does anyone have a breakdown of these numbers? I think political will is up to 37 right now, from enhanced affiliates and the research item.

Two Explorer captains to assign, Ajam was shifted to Courageous and Ka'Sharren is staying on Enterprise (I wouldn't be surprised if she stayed on that ship until we retire it.
As far as Captain McAdams goes, her ability does seem to be situational enough to be functionally useless. Sorry to say for a character I've enjoyed hearing about, but If I got passed her at a draft, she'd be near to my last pick.
I am interested though to see what the new panel Captains give us when @OneirosTheWriter updates the Explorer panel page.

Please use the version of the vote with the fixed number of techs (I edited while you were reading the Rat Race post and you didn't refresh the page it seems)
I'm pretty sure that's either a clerical error or a temporary caretaker role. We should still be able to pick someone else if we so choose.

Actually, here is an idea I have, put T'lorel in charge of Western Frontier settlement. In other words, have her be in charge of the expansion of the Federation towards the Cardassian border. There would be a large amount of opportunity for someone of her specialty to thrive.
Her specialty is supposed to be first contact, mind. Orbital bombardment kind of... happened.

Ah. Yeah, that one's going to need a standard crew. It's not a major loss, since our Excelsior's superior science suite make them well suited to responding to certain sector crises as opposed to our combat focused ships.
