[X][EXCEL] Send the Avandar. Replace it on garrison in Ferasa Sector by detaching the Yukikaze from the Anti-Syndicate Task Force and bringing in the Stalwart from Tellar Sector. Personal note to Ainsworth, highest encryption. "The pantry is now bare, Rachel. No more reinforcements until second quarter next year. Plan accordingly."

...Thank you, Briefvoice, I would very much like to think I would have reconstructed that for myself, but I'm glad you did it. :)

That said, is there any ship we could send rather than the Yukikaze? Is the ASTF the only thing we can use for this?

Bandwagon seems fine.

But this is where I part ways with the bandwagon:

We'really already all in one the GBZ. Our plan is to move so fast and in such large force that our control of the GBZ becomes a fait accompli.

I don't want ships idle due to lack of supply. I don't want to wait to finish critical projects that could save life's and beat back Cardassians. I don't want logistics poised on the edge of failure constantly.

We already made our bed when we voted to go all in on the GBZ ship wise. We've already lost a few PP opportunities to lack of ships. And yet here we are looking to get the worst of both worlds. Idle ships in the GBZ and missed opportunities at home because we don't want to pay the cost.

I'll tell you this: we already chose to act audaciously and it has paid off already. Our enemies are surprised and reeling. This is not the time to ease off the throttle and let ourselves rest on our laurels.

I will not let our expedition stall out for want of a few PP. I would rather pay a little now to avoid wrecked hulls and dead colonists later.

And yet to preserve momentum we can't spare any more hulls to help at this point -but we can spare a few points of PP to keep the tank full of pire fucking-Cardassian-plans-up fuel

Give our people the tools they need to finish the job now rather than risking our gains later.
@AKuz, the problem is that the same argument applies to a lack of military ships in the Expanse. Having one of our two Excelsiors in the area out of action, plus one of our escorts, means that our striking arm is now too weak to risk combat unless we pull ships off of escort duty to beef it up. Which means Ainsworth won't be able to launch any more offensives to push the enemy off balance, won't be able to raid their logistics and construction projects, and won't be able to stop the enemy from digging in and securing footholds in the area that will pose a threat to us later on.

I would argue that to fulfill the objective you totally correctly cite of keeping up our momentum, we need to at least temporarily pull a few more ships off other duties to keep Ainsworth's fleet up to strength as long as possible.

Not sending reinforcments also encourages to inflict more damage on us, because, obviously we cannot reinforce ...
Agreed, which is why I'm voting for Briefvoice's proposal to reinforce.

And I've decided to agree with the Expert and sent another Excelsior. These cargo ships can also help us keep up momentum in building up infrastructure and logistics when we aren't directly fighting.

I am not a fan of sending the Yukikaze from anti-syndicate duties without replacing it as they are down but recovering and I want to keep the momentum going there.

It's not ideal, but we are moving from a space-based phase of the conflict to an financial/political reform phase. A third starship in orbit is likely to be much less important. The Avandar could make a lot of difference in the Gabriel Expanse. The Yukikaze might not make much of a difference at all in the ASTF. You have to ask yourself where the best value really is. What is the Yukikzae actually doing where it is, that the Lexington and the Kearsage can't manage without it? The Yukikzae has barely been mentioned in MoO posts.

Sorry, I didn't see your edit until I'd already posted. Do you want me to delete my statement? I felt like I should spell out my reasons.

There conventional space forces have been destroyed or nearly destroyed at this point however we only have 3 ships including the Yukikaze there. In addition the Yukikaze is our best science ship in the ASTF. Which would help in detecting suicide shuttle waves, a tactic they have used in the past and that they are likely to try again. Also having three ships rather than two reduces the sensor load on any one ship.

We also know the Syndicate is gearing back up for a response over the next two quarters so drawing down this force instead of pressing to keep momentum is trouble to me.

@OneirosTheWriter are the Amarkia sending their own force to the GBZ and if so when and what ships?

Starfleet Shipyard Operations Update

2313.Q2

Crew has been deducted for two Centaur-A class ships (Build Orders NCC-2124, -2125) under construction at San Francisco Fleet Yards

2 Officer, 4 Enlisted, 4 Technician
Furnished from Standard Crew

It's pretty amazing that we only started those two ships 2312.Q4, and we're already crewing them. Chen is incredible. She's collectively knocked 2.5 years off the construction time of the five Escorts we have under build.

Speaking of bonuses, we were having some talk earlier about what kind of bonuses various VIce Admirals might give as Admiral. You want to hear my theory for Sulu?

Militarization resilience. Things that would get Starfleet militarization under any other commander, Sulu charms the Council and tells them, "Had to be done!" Ignore first 1 or 2 points of militarization per year.
