No chance of any relevant parts being unlocked within the next year even if we can somehow get enough rp together for boosts (almost certain not to be the case without rp influx from starting the project). Delaying meeting the ambition means delaying the bonus from meeting it (likely to be very helpful while we are stuck at low pp due to the syndicate) as well as delaying being able to start working on the next ambition after that. The worst consequence of delaying is delaying both the prototype and the first few production ships entering service, likely resulting in one or more EC Excelsiors that could have been Ambassadors instead.

We also need 50 RP between this quarter and next to keep all teams active, we were counting on the boost we get from starting a project to cover some of that.

Probably true.
There are too many fires and priority's to cover. We need new designs, we need the damn Syndicate to roll over and die already, we need to keep pumping that diplomacy, we need new star bases in trouble areas, etc.

If we avoid war with the Cardies (for now) and the Celos campaign breaks the active insurgency portion of the Syndicate fight (outside of the Orion government own efforts, probably the biggest on-going Cost to us), then we might actually get back to be being able to do those oh so important, but small things.

Of course, due to Cost, we are going to have a political crisis as soon as the current crisis's are dealt with .....

Jeez, we have some strong options here and I do not know which one to pick. If we think War likely, T'Rinta would be the obvious choice, but the other two are *really good* in their own right and Mbeki in particular is now like his old bonus PLUS the bonus of another captain added onto that.

I'm disinclined to pull the ladies off their new ships so soon, but damn. This is a toughie.

Well now, the FYM captain bonuses have increased!

Demora Sulu now has +1 to Espionage attempts
Langa Mbeki now has re-roll on Surprise Encounters
T'Rinta now has +1 L AND her +1 C bonus now applies outside of combat too

edit: It makes sense that Mbeki got that bonus for surprise encounters with his experience.
