Thing is, we've built like 30 Combat worth of cruisers plus multiple explorers in the past few years. "The total hasn't been updated in the extremely recent past" is at least as plausible an explanation as "he's deliberately ignoring all Explorer Corps ships from the total."

Front page total combat has been up to date for maybe 10% of the time during this quest. Total combat cap hasn't been up to date for something like 8 in-game years (50 base + 30 Oberth reward + 100 biophage reward + 20 Amarki + 13*10 threat = 330). Due to how far we are still away from the cap keeping either of those stats up to date has been a very low priority.

Not all of the values on the front page get updated all the time, the Combat cap and our science and defense goals might be done every other in game year.

Only reason I thought otherwise is the total only made sense when added one way.

I suppose the obvious thing to do is to just ask. @OneirosTheWriter, do our explorer corps ships count toward our combat total?

FYI, but we actually won't have our first Miranda-A refits complete until next quarter.

Hm, I think I'm getting mixed up from looking at a earlier version of the google spreadsheet with starfleet and member world info I copied down incorrectly.

Could someone run a vote tally? I sometimes find that if a vote is close, seeing that my decision really did make a difference can push me from one side to the other.

Thought for the day 1: Shrek is a perfectly valid Vulcan name. Thought number 2: How widespread in civilian life are transporters? Do they replace long-range trains and air-travel only, or are they used on a public transportation level as well? Can 7 year old Jean-Luc Picard wander from his family chateau down to the transporter station be beamed across the Atlantic, gawk all morning at the Air and Space museum and it's exhibits, and still be home in time to have dinner?

Sisko once noted he had 'transporter credits' at the Academy and had used up an entire semester's worth in a few weeks(?) beaming home to have dinner every night. And he was a few decades on, when transporters should logically be even cheaper and energy more plentiful.

So I'd say long range travel only and probably not casually. They probably do something like making you reserve it advance so you won't use it too easily, or some other clever trick of 24th century social engineering.

"It was agreed in the House Subcommittee of Youth Relations that an effective lobbying strategy..."

"God damn it Spren just say 'my brother and I decided we were going to ask to our parents to stay up an hour later.'"
"The N'moy Learning Institute Subcommittee for Geological Studies seeks executive approval for a geological survey of Grid Area D-11."

"Approval is provisionally granted, contingent on a project deadline of 1800 hours and oversight by a junior member of the House."

"This conflicts with the House Subcommittee of Gender Relations' established schedule. A meeting at 1600 hours has already been agreed upon."

"The House Subcommittee of Gender Relations could provide suitable oversight for the N'moy Learning Institute Subcommittee for Geological Studies."

"I wish to lodge a formal complaint. Over the last three months, members of the House Subcommittee of Gender Relations have been assigned to oversee the N'moy Learning Institute Subcommittee for Geological Studies significantly more than N'moy Learning Institute Subcommittee for Geological Studies' requests for geological surveys have been declined."

"The House recognizes and dismisses the complaint. A higher priority has been assigned to the objectives of the N'moy Learning Institute Subcommittee for Geological Studies than those of the House Subcommittee of Gender Relations."
Baby Straak: "Mom, can my friends and I go look at the rocks out by the cliff?"

Mama Straak: "Yes, but be back by 6 and take your brother with you."

Brother: "But Moooooooooom, my girlfriend's coming over!"

Mama Straak: "She can watch them too."

Brother: "This isn't fair! You always make me watch him! Why can't he just not look at rocks for a while?"

Mama Straak: "I'd rather encourage your brother's interest in geology than your interest in girls."

[X][HONIANI] Jennifer Zhang

that +25 pp could very easily be the difference between getting access to their fleet in time for war or not. also we probably want a buffer since I suspect their religion makes them a bit volatile.

@Torgamous ...

Well, the long term investment in the N'moy Subcommittee clearly worked. :D

[counts votes]

So basically, Zhang has 21 votes for the Honiani thing, 3 votes for "do the Honiani thing," are unspecified, 1 appears to be for another candidate.

And "don't do the Honiani thing" has 17 votes.

Assuming that's read sensibly, it's 24 or 25-17 in favor of doing the Honiani thing, which is very much in keeping with Starfleet values, but costs us ten extremely valuable political will next snakepit. Whether that is a good idea or not I cannot comment on, and in fact I believe I've entirely abstained from this vote.

For those voting for Jennifer Zhang which option do you want dropped, the anti syndicate legislation or the ambassador project, bearing in mind that unless we get very good RP from this and next quarter we will need to deactivate tech teams this research period (Ambassador project will give us some RP). Also we have starting the Ambassador prototype as a goal and arranged our shipbuilding schedule for a berth to be open when we estimate it finishing.

On the flip side the anti-syndicate legislation will increase our impact per year and may give us additional assets (like the Vulcan team that can work on stopping their finances)

Shrek is a perfectly valid Vulcan name.

Shrek is actually a member of the traditional Vulcan pantheon of deities. He is most often associated with agriculture, fertility, and romance. During the Classical Period on Vulcan, the priests of Shrek were responsible for the ceremonial trappings surrounding pon farr. Shrek-worshiping mystery cults persisted well past the decline of the traditional Vulcan pantheon, and traces of their cultural influence have survived through the more calamitous periods of Vulcan history. For example, the traditional blessing given to a friend or relative is "Shrek nam-tor ashaya, shrek nam-tor ha'kiv" or "Shrek is love, Shrek is life"

Assuming we can keep up the tempo of operations we've been keeping up, we'll probably have the Syndicate hammered down within about another ten years, really. Getting the job done in five would probably be too much to ask.

We've only really been applying serious pressure for 3 years (2309 was a wash) and our Impact per year has been increasing with each year. I would not be surprised if we hit 400 applied Impact in 2 years and by that point, we should have discovered ways to lower their Resilience further. Given that the Union has decided to kick things up a notch, I would suspect we're in for a year or two of very high cost/impact operations followed by a cool down as we clear the high-population worlds. If we get a big enough blob of Impact from resolving the Celos crisis, I wouldn't be surprised if we break their effective resistance within 2-3 years and have them cleaned up in 5.

The thing tipping me over us that within posts we'Ll either be at war and nothing that we plan now matters anymore. Or we resolve the crisis and get PP from it anyway.

There is also the mysterious "Political crisis superseded by current crisis" which I suspect will render all plans moot anyway.

@OneirosTheWriter you mentioned the Honiani have three explorers with one, Basilica of Lakhept, being a 4mt flagship however on the spreadsheet you posted they only have explorers in two categories, is this a case where they have one Basilica and one Basilica of Lakhept but are tracked under the same category? Also can I get the shield hull and presence for their ships. In addition do we have class names for the Seyek and their shield, hull and presence?

Also it looks like some of our members and affiliates started ship construction this turn, can we get details on what they commenced, the shipyard ops page only listed what they finished.

You don't have the comprehensive details at this stage.

The Basilica and Basilica of Lakhept are both listed under "Modern Explorer"

The stat list has me confused. I thought Deny was winning. How did Jennifer Zhang win?

On another note, currently we have 12 Excelsiors with another 7 under construction!

By size we have 20 escorts in service with 5 under construction and 2 being refitted, 14 active cruisers with 3 under construction and 13 explorers with 7 under construction

Re: what to sacrifice, I'm okay with delaying the ambassador another year. We are already ahead of our deadline, and there's not much evidence we are in any rush to deploy it, particularly since our main conflict is an insurgency, and the other possible war will likely be over before we deploy it. I'm less sure we'll unlock some more parts for it depending on RP gained, but that would be nice.

Syndicate campaign is a higher priority right now.

Pretty much with Iron Wolf on this. The Ambassador can afford a delay. It might even be helpful, though that's unlikely.
