[X][HONIANI] Pick any Commander - Officer will spend 2 years with Honiani, will become an Explorer Panel Captain upon return, gain +25 with Honiani, Costs 10pp (Jennifer Zhang)

Aside from the possible RP shortfall, is there any reason delaying the Ambassador an additional year is really that terrible?

I'm going to slash the SR. cost for the Hebrinda-A back to 70sr to make it more in line with the others. A lot of Federation tech helping out no doubt :V

If that's the case, then now the Hebrinda-A Fleet Strike Force variant is to the Renaissance as the Miranda-A is to the Centaur-A - slighter weaker in combat but also cheaper in resources and crew:

Hebrinda-A (Fleet Strike Force variant):
C5 S2 H3 L5 P3 D4
Cost[100br, 70sr, 3 years], Crew [O-3, E-3, T-2]

Renaissance:
C5 S3 H4 L5 P4 D5
Cost[100br, 80sr, 3 years], Crew [O-3, E-5, T-3]

I judge that an adequate trade-off so switching my vote over to it.

If they are, that's on whatever obstructionist in the council is responsible for the 10pp cost.

Looking at those, I'm realizing that I'd be disappointed if they really only have one visual design per class. Part of their design process should be leaving room for aesthetic variance.

According to the spreadsheet, they also have a light cruiser and a few outdated ships that are still in service. I might add at least the modern light cruiser to the illustration, which should help a bit.

Or did you mean that the different classes looked too similar to each other? If so...its kind of a difficult balance for me, capturing the artistry of their shipbuilding culture while still keeping all their ships recognizably Honiani.

The spreadsheet just said "heavy escort," "explorer," etc, so I made up names for them myself. If you tell me their actual names, I'll happily edit.
Explorers:
Basilica of Lakhept - "Flagship", lol-enormous 4mt explorer
Basilica - Modern Explorer, around the level of an Excelsior, 2.5mt
Cathedral - Old Explorer, somewhat weaker, but not hugely, 2mt

Cruisers:
Reliquary - 1.2mt, slower new-gen cruiser
Chapel - old sub 1mt cruiser

Escort:
Monastery - Modern escort, Centaur-A generation
Parish - Old tough little ship

Ok, seriously, what's the IC logic for an officer exchange running 10pp? The OOC logic is obvious - it's the cost of the +25 relationship, which is what, something like a max diplo push roll?

But I can't figure out why allowing it runs more than a new mining colony IC.
Because it's a matter of politics, not a matter of material. The Honiani are very new to Federation affiliation, after all.

No, I mean their Basilicas should look different from each other. Not so different that they'd need their own systems research, but maybe different steeples and towers and statues and stained transparisteel in different places and stuff. However much difference can be justified within the same class.

We need to save the PP. I like narrative bonuses and increased relations as much as the next guy, but we can't afford it.

It occurs to me that if the Lecarre had just waited, played nice, and asked for an officer exchange, we would've handed them an officer to impersonate free of charge.

Ah. I agree.

Think of my illustrations as an example of each class.

Hahahaha 4 million tons what the fuck.

Alright. I'll change the names, and add the Basilica of Lakhept and Chapel to the pic. Chapel will probably just be smaller, less armored version of the Reliquary with the same nacelles.

It occurs to me that either we resolve the current crisis peacefully and get a boatload of PP or we're at war... in which case changing the Anti-syndicate Slavery Actually is literally not an issue any more.

So I've been looking at the spreadsheet screenshot, seeing if anything jumps out about Member World priorities. Things I've noticed:

1. The Apiaita and Indorians have no hospital ships for some reason. Should we suggest they design one, or build a Federation design once we've completed that?
2. The Apiata seem to use their engineering ships as replacements for freighters, which is why they have so many of them. Is there a reason they do that? Should we suggest a freighter design?
3. Are the Apiata using their Colony ships as passenger liners, perhaps because most of them don't feel comfortable traveling unless in a very large group?

Nothing else jumps right now. I wish I had a better idea if there were any priorities it would be useful to shift.

Because we are in political black hole and any weird action will reflect bad on us?

This just isn't a very good deal, and we're gonna refit those sooner or later anyways.

We can use the combat platforms, but the Aramaki should at least try to not feak the Vulcans out.
