I don't remember but was the synergy between the secondary computer core and astrometrics discussed in thread or something we stumbled into as a happy little accident?

I thought the price tag and prototype issues would keep the order very low, but this ship, aside from being an excellent explorer, really packs a punch - fast, sturdy and all that jazz.

I'm guessing Starfleets institutional memory is also heavily marked by the Romulan war , with millions dead on Earth, millions more vaporized in the colonies, and large parts of Brazil turned into a nuclear wasteland. It totally makes sense that they'd want as many of these as they could get.

One nice thing about this is that it has partially validated my best guess for how Efficient Cruise works - namely, that the "default" gap between Maximum Cruise and the other warp speed stats is one factor in either direction, and that the gap is kept even in size when Efficient Cruise or Maximum Sprint are raised (ie., on the Cygnus-class the gap is Warp 0.8 from 5.2 to 6, and then another 0.8 to Warp 6.8). Presumably, a sprint optimized ship would instead have the gap between maximum cruise and the other velocities widen by half of the boost to Sprint speeds - so, theoretically, you'd still have a Warp 6 efficient cruise with a Warp 7.2 sprint, given our current level of Warp tech.

Mother fucker tried to genocide us. Aint nobody allowed to genocide us. We aint even allowed to genocide ourselves, and we know this because we motherfucking tried that. We are tired of this genocide shit.

In conclusion, giant ass space dreadnaught explorer.

I wonder if the costs of building these are going to have any knock-on effects for the spaceship construction sector in general.

.. does editing actually change the vote? I tried it once and the votes didn't seem to change.
You need to create/generate a new tally.

Like so.
