As an aside of things, I was thinking about another story idea, actually several. I could drop my massively OP OC into Worm and watch thing fall apart Quickly. Another is another Alt!Taylor trigger; Instead of a shard based power, a certain number one genius scientist of short stature and long fuscia hair decides to give her a cute fuzzy animal companion and the same power set as her rather rambuncious daughter...

I'm not likely to start writing anything new until well into the last few chapters of this one, though.
I am entirely in favor of reading a story where Washu-chan decides to be helpful, and where Ryo-oki gets a new sibling. Though I do wonder, how many Gems would Taylor end up with, and would they be a separate set from the ones Ryoko used?

Ah, well. Unless someone else has already taken a stab at one of these, I can wait until after this story comes to an end to find out.

While I like the idea of Washu-chan turning Taylor into a different species more like Ryoko, what about the idea of Taylor ending up with a Guyver unit and only a few Zoanoid villains to fight but a couple GOOD Zoalords fight at her side?

What about the idea that Ryoko is Taylor's grandmother on her dad's side of the family? Yes, that would imply that her dad is Tenchi's son. He didn't want to deal with the craziness of his family, which is why he'd changed his name and moved to Brockton Bay. Only now his family have decided to visit complete with wacky hyjinks, unwanted competition fighting Taylor over Grue (yes, her dad is aware of her membership of the Undersiders), Lisa finding herself to not be the "smartest person in the world", and Washu-chan discovering (much to her annoyance) the existence of Entities.

What are you Talking about? Could you clarify, please?

It was before my time. 22 next month remember?

It's well worth checking out. Personally I like the original six episode Tenchi Muyo and 26 episode Tenchi Universe more then Tenchi in Tokyo. And GXP is just plain fun. It follow a friend of Tenchi, who is also from Earth. This friend has legendarily bad luck. I'm talking everyone around him has bad things happen just because he passed by. In the opening sequence of episode one his bike literally is falling apart as he rides it, a business's awning collapses on the owner, and various other disasters. When he accidently joins the Galaxy Police, they quickly decide to weaponize his bad luck by using his ship as pirate bait. He's really good pirate bait.

It's a reference to Washu from the Tenchi Muyo franchise. Washu-chan (she insists) is...
  1. the greatest scientist in the universe (she'll tell you herself, repeatedly and can actually back up this claim)
  2. a goddess who chose to be simi-mortal as part of a long term experiment
  3. the definitive "mad scientist"
  4. normally seen in the form of a child-like body due to ancient trauma

A Tenchi Muyo xover in Brockton Bay is sure to be hilarious. Whichever way you may want to take it, with whatever part of the cast you may want to throw at Earth Bet it's sure to be great - down to and including the GXP rookies assigned to keep an eye on the OP wayward Juraian royalty's unofficial colony/breeding grounds, the poor bastards.

Eh, those two screw-ups work out of the disguised satellite. Remember? Although, it's not their fault they had been roommates with Seina in the Academy.

As a thought, could a Shard be harvested to create an approximation of Washu's three gems (or at least one of them), and if so, would a Masu Enhanced Taylor have access to a version of the abilities the Shard would have offered? Yes, I know this is basically part of the plot for Hybrid Hive, but it would offer alternatives to Ryoko's potentially very broken Demon Caller Abilities.....

Considering how little control Ryoko has over the things she summons, yeah I'd say her Demon Caller abilities are "broken". :)
Broken in two ways; if she has two of the Three Gems, then she can summon and control evil spirits, which should count as a fairly powerful master/projection power. However, since she only has ONE gem, she can only summon, not control.......

Since he's a red, I'd imagine that Tia would take offense to his frequent unintended pratfalls. Granted, he's a red serpent dragon. But do you think Tia would accept that distinction?
If she's mellowed out as much as she seems to have? She'd drag his scaly ass to Taylor's flying lessons and ask Assault to train him in being hilarious without being a moron.

Do you think Tia would do anything other than ensuring he received proper training so he could live up to the basic competence she expects from chromatic dragons? And wouldn't that training montage be .. "fun" ..

Note I have no idea who the character you're talking about is, just who Tia is in this fanfic.

The grand total that I know about Jake Long can be found Here, with a brief description found here.

From these, I would guess that, color aside, Jake is an Oriental Dragon, and thus not under Tia's jurisdiction.

He's a dragon with red scales, you sure Tia wouldn't insist he's under her preview regardless of what he thinks? Granted, she's mellowed out. So his fate probably wouldn't be "dead and tormented".

Tia is a kinder, gentler Tiamat, Sumerian Primordial Goddess of Creation, Queen of the Chromatic Dragons, former Guardian of the Gates of Avernus, etc. Having been betrayed by nearly everyone, and having lost nearly every chromatic dragon that followed her, she suffered a massive breakdown when confronted with the overwhelming reality of her deeds, and the end results of the entire war between dragons. She sought death at the hands of her brother, but instead get sentenced to live with her deeds, which will be a very long time.

She's being treated as that crazy aunt that every family's got, but no one wants to rile up. The ones who are going to be particulary harsh on her are the few remaining chromatics who remember her.

Oh, that I definitely get. The issue I see is that Tiamat basically watched all her descendants either die or turn away from her. (Or both.) Having new dragons running around seems to be a good thing for her mental health. She's willing to sit back and let others mentor the "hatchlings" through their early lives but she also seems to be rather invested in their safety.

Now consider what else I've read in this thread - specifically the bit about "pratfalls." This Jake Long sounds like someone without a "sufficiently skilled" mentor by Tia's definition. Making mistakes might very well get him killed.

With that in mind does Tia have any lingering trauma that would turn her into the crazy, over-protective aunt in the family when presented with Jake's lack-of-competence or would she immediately start trying to find him someone to train him to survive? And, lacking any other chromatics at the moment, would she just skip the middle-drakes and decide to take care of it herself?

To be fair we haven't seen anything in the story where a dragon has gotten into serious trouble where Tia was aware of the issue except maybe Hunts. (Having an asteroid fall out of nowhere on your lair isn't exactly something Tia could have seen coming.) End result is we don't have enough evidence to point at Tia being utterly calm about it or Tia going psycho-protective-aunt. In all honesty I expect her to fall somewhere in between but I do find the idea of some poor dragon getting trained until their scales ache to be amusing. The contrast between "why can't I get this right" and Taylor's aptitude could be fun. It also opens the door for drama. Is Taylor then the annoying elder cousin who is just perfect and everything she does is perfect and <insert teenage rant here>? Or is Taylor the cool cousin who is helping teach in ways that work, saving the young dragon from more "my scales ache!" moments?

Note all of that is just based on Taylor. What about Amy / Panacea? Or Hunts-the-ice? Lots of potential plot threads there.
