On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

[ ] [Adamant:] Offer each of them a shard of Voidstone.
This is reasonable to do for them, and lets them build their own supplies. Plus like, we have been the primary order maker for Voidstone for like two centuries or something silly like that. Giving out 5 leaves us with enough to make more Smelters, and we *do* still get Voidstone - its just on a roll DC so that just means patience.

[ ] [Karaz-Kazak-Rhun:] Go together.

This is fine since we can wrap up one of the Expeditions still, have a spare heir action, and finding the Hammer is a good alternative to Marching.

a part of me wants to send her by her self, purely because I still feel like she deserves it more than us(after we just kind of forgot about the riddle for a while than tossed it to her out of hand to do by herself) and her going and earning it by herself would be the final completion of that.

What do you offer your students? They may or may not accept.

[ ] [Adamant:] Do not offer them Adamant.

[ ] [Adamant:] Offer each of them [Write-in] Bars of Adamant.
You have x76 Bars of Adamant.

[ ] [Adamant:] Offer each of them [Write-in] Bars of Adamant a turn.
You produce x10 Bars of Adamant a Turn

[ ] [Adamant:] Offer each of them a shard of Voidstone.
You have x7 Shards of Voidstone
@soulcake, any chance you can add the following option?

[ ] [Adamant:] Offer each of them [Write-in] Bars of Adamant a turn, staring when the next smelter is constructed.
You will produce x16 Bars of Adamant a Turn

I think instead of a stipend it's better to give them a loan for their own smelters and ask for repayment.

Shame about about Yorri leaving but that simplifies the next few turns at least since now prods won't compete for war turns. Here's hoping hitting the highest DC means the hammer is still there.

think we should go together, a teacher and student trip, more time to train her 1 on 1 with no distractions
also think we should get an apprentice or two, let our daughter see and learn how we teach apprentices for when she trains her own in the future

[ ] [Adamant:] Offer each of them a shard of Voidstone.

Giving them the tools shows trust and expectations, rather than pure charity (and/or indulgence from an elder) of giving them Adamant outright.

[ ] [Karaz-Kazak-Rhun:] Go together.

This is most fitting and fun as an option.

Seems like the Mammoths intervened and crushed the Troll attack, though unfortunately not soon enough to save the rear guard but they managed to prevent the Trolls from eating the fallen dawi.

I hereby submit yet another Rune!

#Rune-Ideas

Rune of Windsigh
A Rune OF the Masters, BY the Masters, and FOR the Masters. Designed and optimized for placement on to any object compatible with runes and subtle enough to be place onto any apprentice's person or proximity, the Rune of Windsigh is designed to manipulate nearby wind currents (or generate them in the absence thereof) in order to stimulate the Sigh of Disappointment of any long suffering longbeard targeted exclusively towards any long insufferable beardling, specifcially in the absence of their master. Said Rune is triggered by any action or comment from aforementioned beardling at randomized intervals, and in a way that prevents the pinpointing of the source of said Sigh.

This product is exclusively for the use of longbeards or Masters belonging to any guild, and requires proof or credentials of said Dawi's age or experience.

Rune Lore:
It was initially intended to simulate a Longbeard's finely honed BAH! But said feature would have easily allowed inept but still barely cunning beardlings to cotton onto the fact that a Rune was nearby. Instead, the Windsigh has been deemed optimal enough to remind the beardlings of their elders' grievances without cluing them that said source was anything more than a combination of the wind and their overactive (too active, by this Longbeard's reckoning) imaginations.

Effects of constant activation of the Rune of Windsigh on an unsuspecting Beardling:

It's so beautiful….

It's so beautiful….

Snorri can frame it as him doing his bit for his students yet also challenging them to make worthwhile things with said resources. A gift AND a challenge rolled into one.

Maybe we can also offer more adamant to the exceptional and worthy in Khazagar as well. Maybe as the Brotherhood for their opinion of it. The improved smelter is slowly turning Adamant into a more accessible resource for all dawi, so rewarding some away for worthy works or deeds shouldnt be rocking the boat too much, no?
