On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

@soulcake, is it common for a dwarf to donate a bunch of stuff to the temples in another Karak? As in, all the temples dedicated to the Ancestor Gods (save Thungni) of another Karak, just because.

Because it would be hilarious if Snorri got his younger brother to donate some toys, plus some extra stuff, to the Temple of Valaya, as well as the more traditional offerings to the rest of the swarven pantheon, in Karak Kadrin, which would serve as a good excuse for Jorri to do some information gathering in the Karak for his eventual thing with the next Kadrin King.

Even if its not, i don't think either Cult of Valaya or Snorri would mind starting this tradition

I do believe "Dwarven wizards can be necromancers." was the start, but this was also back when it was the WHF equivalent of the Rogue Trader origin for 40k, fun and ham without caring about anything else.

Wait, what is so horrible about the 1st edition of WHRP that makes it comparable to that abomination that tries to pass as a movie?
Some parts of it are incoherent and inconsistent with itself. To my knowledge that edition is the one that allows Priests of Gazul to use necromancy, the form of magic created from a twisting of actual winds of magic, which Dwarves can't use outside of crafting runes, long after the Ancestor Gods left and the priesthood would have established their rites and miracles.

There are some good parts, but largely it is inconsistent with the greater Warhammer Fantasy world.

This would've been back in the same era that original, inspired 40k characters were being debuted such as Inquisitor Obi-Wan Sherlock Clouseau. A little before that, actually, since 40k started as a Fantasy spinoff. It wasn't exactly a time when the lore took itself super seriously.

No precedent, but no one would overly care snorri imagines. No one's donated so much that their local temple can't get rid of it faster than they receive it before.

@BungieONI name not decided. I'm taking suggestions though if any of you have any. :^)

Congratulations on those two exams! I hope you did well in the other one you're not as confident in.

As for names, possibly the Hold of Vengence? Not sure what that would translate into Dwarvish though.

Karak Baraz? 'The Promised Mountain' sounds on the nose, to the point, and frank. In summation, it fits in perfectly with the rest.

EDIT: Or maybe Kazad Baraz? 'The Promised Fortress' has a nice ring to it...

Ohhhhhhhh. Neat!

Karak Vulkhrund, could be something I would see them culturally going for since Vulkhrund means: Cavernous hiding place.

Kraka Zaraz, the Gift, as Zaraz means gift. Don't like that one very much though.

Karak/Kraka Zunthrum, where Zunthrum means: Statues, monuments.

At least you lot came out alive after exams. It could be really harsh

Also, Yorri Omake status still ongoing as I need to re-read all the threadmarks from the beginning (not helping that I have microscopic attention span)
