Just going to point out that this new method of super-hidden invisitext is...problematic. People who are archive binging, as well as people reading an eventual story-only compilation thread, will probably never even realized that they missed anything. Invisitext is easy enough to spot/check for, but stuff that requires you to find a hidden part of HTML code by quoting the post? Especially for story-only threads, where quoting a post might not even be possible (due to permissions).

While I agree that hiding text in HTML tags is probably more obfuscation than it's worth, I can also personally verify from previous experience that accidentally posting in the wrong thread quoting the story-only posts is indeed possible.

Also, for clarification: Minami's neck got broken by that invisible girl, who came up from behind while Minami was crossing maces with the POV character? If so, why did invisible girl's reaction amount to "oh my god that was brutal"? She chose to attack like that, targeting the neck/head, no less. Or was she just not expecting it to have that kind of effect?

Now that would be telling. :V

Obfuscating things entertains me! Much like shadowruns. And as I said - I'd've explicitly shown it if no one had found it.

Maybe I missed something, but why are we so sure that the 5th Gem is Sendai's? Kato Setsuko is still MIA. Couldn't it be her?

It could be hers, but I think that' not very likely.
Setsuko was last seen for sure by Mami and by the Ishinomaki girls two years ago. the University group wasn't even mentioned in those parts.
If someone has her soul gem it should either be Ishinomaki, since they last saw her, Sendai, since they were apparently looking for her or Kato herself, if she is still alive.

[] Introduce ourselves.
You can see four forms taking off in the distance.
Should tell them to wait, first? They may just leave during introductions.

Could you also add Ann's witch card at the end of this post?:http://forums.sufficientvelocity.com/posts/2077544/

Ann, the Witch of paperwork. Her nature is futility. She endlessly fills out her paper-like Familiars against an uncaring world.

\\They're holding their own against Hamasaki and Tamiko, anyway. In the face of it, water and Tamiko's absurd forcefields might seem to overmatch plants and water...
paper?

Also, we certainly can't ask them if that's Minami's gem. We don't have IC knowledge of that.
If you mean to not showcase OOC-gained information, that's fine. Firnagzen's given the OK to use it, though.
Also, if Akiko is hesitant to send Rin over due to fear of invisi-girl ganking, verify that we can detect invisi-girl even when invisible. Should I add that explicitly?
I'm pretty sure Yuko is visible right now, so we don't actually know if we'll be able to detect her if she hides.

Yuko could still hide from us by handing her soul gem to one of her team mates while keeping herself within its range.
Of course, she would have to know that we can sense soul gems in order to come up with that. We might have dropped some hints, but most anyone would be able to figure out is that we can sense magical girls, not soul gems in particular.

Speaking of which, @Kinematics, maybe we shouldn't reveal that we can detect soul gems right at this moment? I might be shadowrunning, but with that invisibility girl prowling around I don't feel like dropping hints on how to circumvent our detection is a good idea.

Gerbil, there's a girl that needs healing. The longer we stall on that, the more time we're giving things to escalate. That takes priority. Pointing out the 5th gem gives the Uni group next to nothing, other then that we can do it. Not how.

The Ishinomaki group already knows that we have some sort of Meguca radar, and I'm willing to bet that they have shared this information with the University group. If we tell them that "Hey, I noticed that you guys have an extra soul gem. Mind if I ask whose it is?" right of the bat, then between the two groups they'll have enough information to piece things together. It might be just me going "secrets and more secrets" mode again, that's something you do not want them to know about if this goes sour.

CG if it goes sour we grab all the sul jims and jump up 150m. Then we get akiko and the leader of the uni their jims back and sit down and talk like civilized people.

As I said. Healing that girl takes priority.

And yeah. You're shadowrunning hard.

No wait, let's deconstruct this a bit. Let's say Gerbil is right and for whatever reason, Ishinomaki and the University group want to go after us (A hilariously bad idea no matter how you crack it).

They have Yuko go invisible and leave her Soul Gem behind. That's already a very dangerous prospect. Where can she safely put her gem?

1. She can hide it. A dumb idea. And even if it's somehow viable she wouldn't be in any position to cleanse her gem.
2. She can leave it with her friends. Still high risk but not as dumb.

A soul gem's range is 100m. After that the body will collapse from being too far out of range. 100m is well within Sabrina's sensing range. This doesn't go into the fact that we can detect grief seeds and also see active threads of magic connecting someone to a soul gem.

It basically means if Yuko is in a position to attack, Sabrina will always be in a position to detect her or her allies holding her gem. And it also means they'll be in range of all of Sabrina's hax grief manipulations.

...Okay, yeah, it's just me taking "never tip your hand" too far. I'll drop the issue.
