Also, that section about Sayaka convincing a bird that education is important. I cannot help but imagine an intelligent discussion of two intellectual peers, with points of view that basically boil down to "Look, you have swords, you can fly, you can talk with birds and make more copies of yourself, why do you need this "education" again?" and "I know, I know, but my mom says it's important, and I need to learn one of the "jobs" we humans have so that I could leave the nest and earn my own birdseed."
 
Given that crows can teach other crows to recognize mean humans, crows probably understand the concept of communicating knowledge in order to benefit one's social group. They are also capable of mimicking the calls of other birds. So you could probably frame history and writing as learning to recognize threatening humans and learning to convince other humans that you're helpful. Science applies to creating food and shelter.
 
We'll need to campaign for the rights of crows and dolphins right after we fix all the human problems then

I'm kinda beginning to suspect that the reason the Magical Girl with the animal communication powers let Sayaka copy said powers was because they had had enough of the animals shit and was looking forward to having someone to bitch about them with.

We also need to bring Sayaka to all the animals to get more insight into their psyche. I really need Sayaka arguing with a snake to be in my life as of about 30 seconds ago xD

We should probably start formalizing plans, asking whichever people we want to support us to show up on that specific date and all that, then. People deal with things better with a little advance notice, I think so far we've mentioned to some people we might want their help with Walpurgisnacht but it's been mostly generalities.

Except Brina has control and awareness of her grief. She gets feedback she can adjust. She could scratch an itch in her sinus just right.

Edit: also, selective ability to feel pain implies she can turn off reflexive responses at will.

Now, to be fair, Sabrina probably turned her pain off before hand. That'd be smart, given that it was a deep clean.

Also, I called a grief deep cleaning, like over a year ago.

We didn't "scratch an itch"
We decontaminated, we ripped grief though our body trying to scrap away and dispose of every particle of foreign matter. it was stated in that update that it hurt like hell to do.
